This song fits the pop bill. It sounds pretty commercial and surprises me that it hasn't hit the top 40 already. The video is rather eccentric. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPSuYxVrXD0

I've just noticed something. Just like the artists who have jumped on the bandwagon of including "Rockstar" in the title of their songs. There are number of recent songs with "do it" in its title.
In addition to Nelly Furtado's "Do It" there is Jennifer Lopez's newest hit "Do It Well" and last year an Atlantan female quartet of sisters named Cherish hit the top 10 with "Do It To It."

I'm really digging "Do It." I find the cheesy a la 80's type of vibe rather intriguing. IMHO, Nelly has a pattern of concluding her albums in the US with a track having some sort of revolutionary attempt (despite plagiarism) apart from her prior releases. Unfortunately, the track then ends up flopping at radio. (Maybe -- I spoke too soon for "Do It" but it looks like that will happen)
The current chart performance at Top 40 of "Do It" from Loose is reminding me a lot of the performance of "...On the Radio (Remember the Days)" from Whoa Nelly! The videos to these tracks mostly convey these revolutionary themes.

I saw the video for the first time today and it is very cheesy. It looks like Will.I.Am is definitely having a hard time keeping up with one of his peers, Kanye West on the pop chart.

It has such a funky, "stanky" (borrowing term from Outkast, lol) and insanely catchy hook like czarina mentioned. Thumbs up to Will.I.Am for this fun track. I enjoy it a lot.

I've noticed the song has a sizeable audience impression for a song in the twenties. Plenty of huge US metro pops giving it some play.
It'll be interesting if it is a slow builder and get a good peak in the process. I'm feeling the track now more than ever.

This is a silly tune that I often find myself bopping my head to. It is amusing when he mentions "white folks, gangstas and the thugs." So much for blatantly declaring your target audience. LOL!
I heard this plenty of times in Houston. When I think of "A Bay Bay" I often think of the other popular southern rap hit "Party Like A Rockstar."

I agree to a degree. However, like actors on television don't carry out the roles they play in real life, I sometimes feel that artists can't be held accountable to every word they say. I just see the track as an entertaining art form if anything. I can definitely understand that censorship is necessary because some folks are not sensible enough to differentiate. Not sensible enough to differentiate? Uhh no. "In denial" makes an easy fit, if anyone had heard it ONLY that way when the song had come out, people will still react to the song liking/disliking the same as they do with this version so there was no reason why they couldn't have "had him in denial, in denial." Ahhh...let's face the real facts... you detest this song don't you? LOL! ;D

The song sounds awkward because he says it. It's rude and insensitive. I'm sure if his mom/dad/sister/brother/best friend etc committed suicide we'd hear a different song lyric than that. Sean Kingston has a seemingly adorable image and the song is cute. I love it when he says "suicidal", I think it is the song's trademark. Networks like MTV bleeps it out from the video which makes the song sounds awkward, IMO. LOL!

I've been hearing this song "off and on" for quite some time.
At first, I thought the track was average at best, but I have grown to like it. I say good for her that she's made the top 10 at pop radio!

I finally heard this song during Vanessa's performance on Live with Regis and Kelly yesterday. She also performed "A Thousand Miles." I think "Nolita Fairytale" is a great song.

This song is REALLY good. I'm proud that he made something of himself and has surpassed both Taylor and Katharine in terms of pop chart success. I totally agree. Congrats to Elliott on the success of his first track! Sometimes it doesn't pay to be an American Idol. This is such a beautiful tune and it is sung with such sincerity.

I think "Never Again" is a decent song. I'm not quite sure if it is lead single material. Maybe Kelly has a strategy in mind and will give us an ultra catchy poppy tune for her followup.

Glad my girl Leona is doing well. She reminds me of Mariah when she first started out. Ironically, both of them will be in the same top 10 lineup.

I can't believe "Low" is almost #1 at the pop chart. WTF??? I like the song and all, but would've never thought it could be potentially a #1 song at Mainstream. P.S. It does seem like the perfect song for Super Bowl parties this weekend, though.

I don't think payola is all responsible for Kat's increase in spins. She was recently featured on Miss Teen USA and that show has had a high viewership perhaps leading to viewers' requests for the single to be played on their local radio stations.

I am not normally a fan of screaming vocals coupled with an edgy electric guitar instrumental. However, I admire Linkin' Park's works and the screaming works well for this song.
The lead vocals are pure and storyteller-ish. I also love the haunting vibe of WID as well.

Yeah it is sensible to spell the Kardashian name with a "C" due to sound of the name. On the other hand, it shows blatant ignorance when typed or written. Yeah. That's why I started the topic in the first place (with the indication that I was making my best guess as to how their name was spelled). I have no idea who the f*** they are and what, being so vapid, they did to even get in the spotlight in the first place. It is double times the display of ignorance, demonstrating sounds of annoyance after being made aware of the correct spelling of a name. But ignorance is bliss for many and that in itself is laughable. If this is a shot at me (I don't have a clue what you're referring to if it's not), I was "BAH!"ing my newfound knowledge (courtesy of you) of who they are and why they're famous. It was dismissive exasperation of their very existence as celebrities, not you correcting my spelling. Ah I see, it is nice to get clarification. ;D

Well, somebody once asked me what type of people irritate me the most, and the first idea to pop up in my mind was "ignorant people". Yet, there are some instances where I just sit and be proud of my own ignorance, such as: • Whoever the latest American Idol contenders are • Various songs from former American Idol contestants who lost • Whatever is taking place on Survivor, Big Brother, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, The Hills, etc. • ...Or, who any of the actors on those shows are. • Anything that is being discussed on Entertainment Tonight or TMZ ...To name a few. But I sit and wonder sometimes if it really wouldn't make me a better person if I had just the slightest feel for pop culture (outside of music), even if it meant having to become acquainted with a lot of the things I hate just by my own principles. Did I digress or what. Or, maybe more like "making it more interesting than I'd think Keeping Up The Kardashians would be". There's just so many shows out there that are so not for me. OIC. I'm not sure you understood what I meant about my ignorance statement to take it to your disliking and lack of care of shows, icons in pop culture, etc. I'm talking about displaying an ignorance of getting an individual's name right whether pronouncing it incorrectly or misspelling. I have a unique name if someone was to mess up my name and be proud of it. I would probably think of that person as less than human. I'm sure many people would. To be proud of f***ing up someone's name even a celeb etc. is just downright pathetic IMO.

It is actually Kardashians with a "K." The stepdad's name is "Bruce Jenner." I admit to watching this show last season and the current season. It is intriguing to say the least. The modern day Brady Bunch concept seems to work. The show believe it or not is doing well with the ratings.
Surprisingly, the girls don't seem to come across as 'over the top' superficial and snooty women like Paris Hilton or Nicole Richie on The Simple Life. Although we all know the only reason why Kim Kardashian ever became famous because she is friends with Paris and Nicole and was of course featured in the ahem, Ray J sex tape. Furthermore, I wouldn't f*** around with Khloe Kardashian because she looks like she would kick someone's ass if they disrespect.

If she was blonde and hot, then it's a publicity stunt, but she's just a run-of-the-mill dumb broad. And people probably wonder why there's not a soul who'd admit to watching this program. For me, even running in the same time slot as the new Price Is Right, the show's better off airing alongside The Super Bowl. Haha! Yeah she is a run-of-the mill dumb broad indeed! I like Drew Carey on the new Price Is Right, I think he is a much nicer host than Bob Barker, but I have been intrigued by "The View" for years. I enjoy it for the hot topics. Sherri Shepherd is hella funny on sitcoms, standup and s*** like that -- but when she states her view on the "The View", I'm like wtf... LOL!
