I flew down to Atlanta for the weekend. While I was in town, I was listening to an awesome rhythmic station, The Beat (WBTS) 95.5, and happen to hear this track on the station multiple times. Rapper Lil' Jon who is an Atlanta native produced the new lead single for Baby Bash's third album. www.youtube.com/watch?v=veYbj2zypaMThe song has been "earworm" for me this weekend. This is a clubbanger that makes folks want to hit the dance floor.

I liked the extended part of the song where she calls out all the moves like the "Naomi Campbell walk" lol. So corny, but so good. LMAO! ;D Yes I agree that line is rather cheesy. But it is cute the way she sings it, Beyonce's southern drawl is adorable.

I know it is probably too late to talk about this song, since it pretty much had its run at Urban. However, it is still getting still heavy airplay at my local Urban radio station and at several Urban stations across the east coast and down south. I'm thrilled to see the track hanging in the Urban top 40 with a huge audience impression. It regained its bullet too. ;D I've enjoyed this song all summer, it is really funky, fun and catchy. The video is also amazing. She looks like she has had a lot of fun doing the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqReBeAImGgBeyonce really puts some spice in the track. The track is so rich vocally. It makes me want to say to Beyonce, "You go girl!" I just think it is fantastic! It is my favorite track from B'Day and probably among my R&B favorites for the year.

It doesn't appeal to me as much as it must you, but your statement goes for pretty much 95% of mainstream hip hop anyway. I really want to further clarify what I said. When I meant "fascinating" I meant in the eyes of the radio stations (MD/PD) who are adding the track and giving it airplay to become the top 5 on the Rhythmic charts and top 40 on the pop charts. There should be some level of "fascination" associated with the song becoming that popular with radio and thus performing well on the charts -- not using it in a blanket way to represent everyone's interests and tastes. My statement was strictly in reference to radio/chart data and not to my personal opinion. I wasn't really speaking on your specific behalf and music interests. I really, really, really hope you didn't misinterpret me and not having any uptight feeling with what I said. I really don't want that and hope that it didn't cause you to be uncomfortable.

I'm tiring of all these popular crossover hip hop songs degrading women so much. Yes, I agree. It is the one thing that bothers me with the song. When I hear the unedited version it makes me cringe. I'm rather surprised that it crossed over. I don't see it getting far at mainstream radio, despite success at urban and rhythmic. I guess the melody, instrumentals and hook makes the track fascinating. It is unfortunate that an urban hit like this couldn't come correct with the entire package.

This is quickly becoming another one of my favorite rhythmic tracks, it's from Floridian hip-hop newcomer Plies and features T-Pain called "Shawty." The track has "breezy" instrumentals. It was on high rotation when I listened to Rhythmic stations while vacationing down in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Texas this summer. wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/pileshaw.wma

Yes, very sad. I was listening to my local urban station WBLS this evening on the Wendy Williams Experience show (www.thewendywilliamsexperience.com). She done an interview with UGK a few weeks ago and I was really impressed with Pimp C as a rapper. He seemed very articulate, coherent and conscious about life, happily married with kids and no signs of any serious drug use. (There are some speculation that drug activity contributed to his death.) Pimp C was also the most vocal of the duo.

Sad news to report. It looks like one half of the duo UGK, rapper Pimp C was found dead in an L.A. hotel room, aged 33.

Excellent Urban comeback hit for Kelly R. as a solo act, despite her now falling album sales. However, Kelly seems to have a strategy in mind to re-release her album Ms. Kelly" with newer tracks in hopes of her album selling more copies and possibly achieving at least Gold Status. I bet she has a lot of pull to do that because she is from a mega popular and successful group like Destiny's Child.
I'm sure any 'newer' solo Urban female act wouldn't have such clout to do such a thing.
It is interesting to note that ousted ex-Destiny's Child member LeToya proudly achieved Platinum status with a one time release of her CD LeToya on more of her own merit which is far exceeding the rate of Ms. Kelly's sales at the moment.

I would say "The Way I Are" and the Shop Boyz's "Party Like A Rockstar" are my favorite rhythmic tracks of the summer of 07'.
Timbaland definitely has the international metropolises appeal down pat with the track. Even the imagery of the video is extremely stylistic, innovative and mainstream oriented, Keri Hilson's vocals are angelic and she is a looker. It is a winning single at all costs in my book!

Diddy's group Danity Kane formed on MTV's Making The Band is back with Welcome The Dollhouse after their last platinum album self titled Danity Kane. These girls are off to a good start with the new album, it is currently #1 in the country. Damn, they are some hot chicks! Every last one of them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S20NsEyzUeQThe track is pretty cool, although it is kind of a female anthem per se. I'm definitely feeling the beat, sounds like a tight club track.

The title track of Natasha's sophomore album. Great follow up to "Love Like This." I enjoy the mellow and earthy yet invigorating vibe of her music. I'm awaiting the official video of "Pocket..." Her music seems to be a staple at MTV's drama series The Hills along with promo commercials for ABC's Desperate Housewives. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ewp5GgKMsU&feature=related

I like this song a lot! Cherish is the quartet of sisters from Atlanta who had a top 10 pop hit and Billboard Top 12 hit in 2006 with "Do It To It." www.youtube.com/watch?v=h51k6tQbzr8The song is pretty catchy to me. I'm surprised that the track is moving up faster at Pop than it is at Urban.

Just bought the video on iTunes. It is great! I like the visuals. I spoke too soon. lol... Madonna looks really hot in the video. Way better than the way she is depicted on the album cover IMO.

I'm curious to hear this, I enjoy Madonna's music. Concerning the album cover, I think Madonna is pretty but she doesn't sexually excite me. In fact I think she lacks a bit in the sex appeal department. Maxim ranked the top 5 'Unsexiest Women of 2007' and Madonna befittingly was number four. www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/articles/1026maxim-CR.htmlTo venture off topic, Fox released an article today with Sarah Jessica Parker who was ranked #1 on the list last year, stating how much she was hurt by the rankings: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,339673,00.html

Ah ha! We finally get an Usher comeback tune! ;D With that said, I think it is tolerable. However, it sounds a bit monotonous. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iDERnqcTXcHis bullet at pop is huge. I anticipate him taking this top 10 without much of a doubt.

This is a very good song! I agree with Nick O! I felt if she was in the right state of mind, the single could have performed up to snuff. But given her current circumstances it will falter on the charts. As we saw with "Piece of Me." Such a waste of great singles if you ask me.
P.S. However, low and behold "Piece of Me" just regained a bullet at pop. lol.

Wow...all of these 90's stars coming back at once... Mariah, Janet and Paula. Madonna will probably sneak in there soon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6rcq7A7DWkWell I think she had a solid comeback performance at the Super Bowl. Go Paula! She was definitely my favorite pop star in the early 90's and I like the song a lot. I wonder if it'll have a place on pop radio.

I think the track is okay, I guess. I was expecting more from her. It is very catchy and I guess I like it enough because it is Mariah. But it seems like she sneakily went back to her old "Loverboy" era ways, the ones that caused her a backlash the first time around. I don't want to judge her on "image" because she ought to be the way she wants to be - she certainly paid her dues in the music industry to become that. I just hope it is well received for her sake. It looks like she is off to a terrific start at pop.

I caught their performance on an episode of "The View." I think this is a cool song. Adam Levine's vocals accompanies the beat rather nicely. It sounds different from what pop is playing right now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6voJ1sgY_0

I've rated this song a "B+" in the last report card topic. I'm going to fill out a Superior Music grade change form and give it an "A+" now. LOL ;D This song has really got me now. I just really really love it. Such a terrific and feel good song. She deserves a #1 at pop, IMHO.

This song is currently #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and rising in the top 40 at pop. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR5xv3pt7KIThis song is sweet! This chick could really carry a note. I love it. It is impressive that she didn't have any formal training in voice and piano. I also really like her image. I think she is unique.

The video is pretty tight and I think this track is hot. Seems better than the singles from last two flop albums. But I guess that's not really saying much. Yes, flop on a Janet a la international mega pop star level. But her last two albums: Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. did achieve platinum status in the U.S. I believe it had similar success in Canada too.

I think this is an amazing comeback by Janet. The video is also awesome! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lVHJmJVI88It is such an outstanding track all across the board IMO. I think she has done everything in her power to craft a successful sounding hit. Now if pop radio avoids this one it'll lead me to speculate that there is still some underlying judgment of her from the whole Super Bowl fiasco. I hope they give her a break.
