Nuts. That's what I get for not having set the most recent replies higher than 10, cause the reservation wasn't one of those 10. Oh well, I'm sure Davey knows a little more about the worst songs of the year than I do.

41. Crossfade - So Far Away (can't believe it lasted this long on the board after that most recent fill-in-the-blank)

I dunno...I don't have a radio now and all the stores I visit/work in that would play Kelly's songs are all still hung up on "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Since You Been Gone". I'm sure I'll be hearing it a 1000 times a week by the time her 10th single off of Breakaway hits the radio.

Agreed. 1st Prize! [/Mr. Burns]
I don't know what my leads would be, since I've fallen behind again (although not 7 weeks behind like I have been twice this year). The only ones I haven't heard are "Because Of You" and "Better Days".

My inaugural chart is dated July 2, 2000. I wish I would have started in January, then I could have had the entire 00's decade covered.
I wanted to make a 5-year report in July, but I never got around to it. I'll probably finish the year and make one, to compliment my year-end chart.

Sarcastic mister know it all.
Although I must say that even if the song doesn't make sense, I'd take that anytime over a song that makes bad sense, regardless of what genre I'm listening to.
Also, I think for most songs that people (not necessarily you) view as not making sense, a better description would be that it has an open-ended, indefinite meaning, and I think it's more rock songs than any other genre that fit that description, which is an element that I enjoy very much.

Ooh, nostalgia from the fall of my senior year in high school! 4. K-Ci & JoJo - Crazy: B+ (Whoa, wait a minute. Check your charts. This might've been Top 5 a year later, but no way was this song out way back in '99. They were on the album before that one, with no Top 10 hits at all. My guess for the correct #4 would be...)4. Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy (Stop! Remix): A- (And upon looking back at the previous song title, I would definitely say this is the correct #4.)I think you must be right. I copied this chart right out of my written archive, and when I wrote these down, I always wrote song title only. As a result, there a lot of songs besides this one where I can't remember who did it. So, in that case: Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy: BWell, I was, but it doesn't stop that from bugging me. Also, what about that new song "Run It"? I think from here on out, I should refer to the guy singing it as "X Brown", just to be difficult. . I'm missing the pop charts for the four weeks before the one I posted above, but from the weeks prior to those, it was looking like it was about to go recurrent. This particular week was its last on Alternative as well.

I don't know, it's just that before I knew about R and R or Mediabase, all I had was a website where somebody listed the songs of AT40 every week, and they gave the credit to 'nsync.
I knew that, I just thought it was "Saw Red" (in 2000) that was the first song of theirs to surface. I remember somebody on the R and R boards, when "Sunny Hours" made the chart, and on one of our report cards, they called it a shameless rip-off of "What I Got". I was the one that had to tell him they were ripping off their own song.

It has sure been a while since we've seen one of these. I think it was krazymack who started the last one (and he was given credit as being the one who always started them, when it was like the only time he ever did. Lol.)
Pop:
1. Santana (featuring Rob Thomas) - Smooth: B+ (Man it was hard to hold down that grade, considering all the times I saw it on VH1.) 2. Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5: C+ (Never minded the song. What I did mind was all these corporations creating commercials around adaptations of this song. 6 years later, there's a few companies still doing it! Wtf!) 3. Len - Steal My Sunshine: A (I was obsessed with this song back then, and they pulled off the 'classic sample' job way before everyone made it out of style to do so.) 4. K-Ci & JoJo - Crazy: B- (nowhere near as catchy as "All My Life" and didn't deserve to get this far.) 5. T. L. C. - Unpretty: C 6. Backstreet Boys - Larger Than Life: D+ (it's average, but they're penalized for never even trying a new formula.) 7. Jennifer Lopez - Waiting For Tonight: B (aside from the fact that just about all her other songs are awful, I can't really hold anything else against her here.) 8. Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle: B- (Somebody asked me why it's retarded to abbreviate 'christina' as 'X-Tina'. Because if 'X-Mas' is short for 'Christmas', then 'X-Tina' would be short for 'Christtina'. The sheep can't even spell the name of the artist they're sheeping properly.) 9. Sugar Ray - Someday: B+ 10. Mark Anthony - I Need To Know: B 11. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Scar Tissue: B+ 12. Sixpence None The Richer - There She Goes: C+ 13. Bryan McKnight - Back At One: B 14. 98° - I Do (Cherish You): C- (bland and impossibly corn-ball, but not what I'd consider 'bad'.) 15. 702 - Where My Girl's At: D- (wow, talk about obnoxious.) 16. Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You: B 17. Shania Twain - Man! I Feel Like A Woman.: C 18. Train - Meet Virginia: B 19. Smash Mouth - Allstar: B- 20. Smash Mouth - Then The Morning Comes: B+ 21. Will Smith - Will 2. K.: D (don't try to capitalize on popular mass panic attacks, please. This song (and "Freakin' It", to a greater extent), effectively resulted in a 5 year suspension from popular music.) 22. Lenny Kravitz - American Woman: D+ (and I'd give an F to the pop remix.) 23. Mariah Carey - Heartbreaker: C- (and this was from a time when there was actually a glimmer of hope that she'd recover and make some listenable music. 1 listenable song in six years.) 24. Jessica Simpson - I Wanna Love You Forever: F. (She was just as bad then as she is now. The only difference is that she was a pretentious 'good girl', and now she's a pretentious 'bad girl'.) 25. Ricky Martin - She's All I Ever Had: B+ 26. Mandy Moore - Candy: C+ (this was about a grade lower before I came to the realization that she was far more of an enchanting character than any of her counterparts.) 27. Enrique Iglesias - Bailamos: B 28. Robbie Williams - Angels: B 29. Melissa Etheridge - Angels Would Fall: C 30. Pearl Jam - Last Kiss: A- 31. Blink-182 - What's My Age Again?: A- 32. Whitney Houston - Your Love Is My Love: C+ for the original, D+ for the remix (the remix was totally effortless and worthless.) 33. Celine Dion - That's The Way It Is: B+ (this was the most I liked a Celine single since "Misled" in 1994.) 34. L. F. O. - Girls On TV: D (I couldn't help but to have "Summer Girls", one of the worst songs ever, fresh on my mind while first hearing this. Although I don't really think I'd have rated this song very highly on its own, either.) 35. Counting Crows - Hanginaround: B 36. Fatboy Slim - The Rockafeller Skank: A- 37. Ricky Martin - Shake Your Bon-Bon: D (seriously, this is the only Ricky Martin single I ever had any problems with, besides "I Don't Care", if that counts.) 38. Kid Rock - Cowboy: C- (because I was, at the very least, interested in hearing it in 1999. I don't think I've heard the song without angrily turning it off at anytime over the past 4 years.) 39. Blacque (featuring 'nsync) - Bring It All To Me: C- (another meritless female vocal group trying to ride TLC's wave. Enough already.) 40. Gloria Estefan (featuring 'nsync) - The Music Of Our Hearts: C
(anyone who happens to know 41-50: post it, please!)
Alternative:
1 Bush - The chemicals between us: B (Sick of it, though.) 2 Creed - Higher: B+ (Was sick of it for awhile, but Alternative doesn't really care much for Creed anymore.) 3 Live - The dolphin's cry: A 4 Foo Fighters - Learn to fly: A- 5 311 - Come original: A- 6 Kid Rock - Cowboy 7 Cornell, Chris - Can't change me: A- (considering that VH1's playlist only consisted of about 8 current songs at any given time in 1999, it's impressive of them to have played this song as much as they did.) 8 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Scar tissue: B+ (and when "Around The World" followed this up: see Chris Cornell.) 9 Stone Temple Pilots - Down: B (I had no idea this was from so late in the 90's.) 10 Limp Bizkit - Re-arranged: A- (part of it's for being so significantly of higher quality than everything else they've ever released. I'm sick of this, because thanks to that, it's the only song of theirs that's ever played anymore.) 11 Blink-182 - What's my age again? 12 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Around the world: A (oh...here it is. One of the coolest 'songs to drive to' ever made.) 13 Jimmie's Chicken Shack - Do right: B- (I don't really remember this much besides pop playing it a little, and me not particularly caring.) 14 Nine Inch Nails - We're in this together: B+ 15 Rage Against the Machine - Guerrilla radio: C+ (I think VH1 even played this a little bit as well, which is cool. I never cared much for Rage though, aside from "Bulls On Parade".) 16 Filter - Take a picture: B+ 17 Our Lady Peace - One man army: B 18 Blink-182 - All the small things: C- (this song annoyed me to no end back then, and even though I have more respect for the band now, I'm sick of this song now.) 19 Limp Bizkit - Nookie: C 20 Days of the New - Enemy: C+ 21 Santana f/Everlast - Put your lights on: B+ 22 Stroke9 - Little black backpack: A- 23 Lit - Zip-lock: n/a 24 Counting Crows - Hanginaround 25 Staind - Mudshovel: A- 26 Powerman 5000 - When worlds collide: n/a (I can remember thinking it sucked, but I haven't heard it since my tastes changed.) 27 Beck - Sexxlaws: B 28 Offspring - She's got issues: n/a (I'm sure I've heard it, but the only Offspring I ever really hear anymore include the two Smash singles, plus "The Kids Aren't Alright".) 29 Sevendust - Denial: B+ 30 Smash Mouth - Then the morning comes 31 Marcy Playground - It's Saturday: n/a 32 Tonic - You wanted more: A- (considering that "Open Up Your Eyes" was able to cross over, there's really no excuse for this not to have even hit the pop chart.) 33 Sugar Ray - Someday 34 Buckcherry - For the movies: B+ 35 Godsmack - Keep away: C+ 36 Apple, Fiona - Fast as you can: C+ (I'd have docked it even more for blandness if this wasn't the song/album where she broke the chains between her and her record company's demands.) 37 Beastie Boys - Alive:B 38 Fuel - Sunburn: B 39 Filter - Welcome to the fold: B 40 Oleander - I walk alone: n/a 41 Muse - Muscle museum: A 42 Long Beach Dub Allstars - Trailer ras: n/a (I had no idea they had songs before "Saw Red" and "Sunny Hours", and speaking of the latter, after what I know now, I can't believe that they used to be doing songs with The Black-Eyed Peas.) 43 Santana f/Thomas, Rob - Smooth 44 Goo Goo Dolls - Black balloon: B+ 45 Love, G. & Special Sauce - Rodeo clowns: n/a 46 Save Ferris - Mistaken: n/a 47 Unwritten Law - Cailin: n/a 48 Guster - Barrel of a gun (4,3,2,1): n/a (I think I heard this a few times on a decent Hot AC station, but don't remember it.) 49 Cake - Let me go: n/a 50 Kottonmouth Kings - Bump: n/a

Chr-Pop:
Kanye West - Gold Digger: n/a Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You: n/a Mariah Carey - Shake It Off: F Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends: A- Black Eyed Peas - My Humps: F (My biggest fear, hearing this song, occurred last night. I couldn't have turned it off fast enough. God, they used to be respectable at the very least, and I'm not talking about "Where Is The Love". I mean, before that.) Nickelback - Photograph: B- Weezer - Beverly Hills: B Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Going Down: A- Bow Wow (featuring Ciara) - Like You: n/a Lifehouse - You And Me: B- Chris Brown (featuring Juelz Santana)- Run It: n/a (but as I said before, a week ago, this kid was a nobody. Why is it so easy for nobody's to score smash pop hits.) Pretty Ricky - Your Body: n/a Rihanna - Pon De Replay: C- (it just gets more and more annoying the more you listen to it. And didn't her name used to be 'Rhianna'? What's up with that.) Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.: A Frankie J - More Than Words: n/a (my girlfriend is furious that this song was remade, though.) Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha: F (still the #2 worst song of 2005) Akon - Belly Dancer (Bananza): n/a D.H.T. - Listen To Your Heart: B+ Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes: C+ Papa Roach - Scars: B Missy Elliott (featuring Ciara) - Lose Control: D+ Pussycat Dolls - Stickwitu: n/a (all signs are pointing to F, though.) Ashley Simpson - Boyfriend: n/a (Heard it once and all I remember is that she tries too hard when she just doesn't have the ability to be trying to begin with.) Black Eyed Peas - Dont' Lie: n/a Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us: n/a (again, with a total of one listenable song released in the 00's, the outlook is not too bright.) Ryan Cabrera - Shine On: n/a (I think I heard this yesterday, and the song was just 'there'.) Sean Paul - We Be Burning (Legalize It): n/a (I wouldn't call him to be a spokesperson to legalize anything, though.) Gwen Stefani - Cool: B+ Marcos Hernandez: If You Were Mine: n/a (who?) Click Five - Just The Girl: D+ (I so hate obvious attempts to make retarded catch phrases like all the ones in this song.) Bow Wow (featuring Omarion) - Let Me Hold You: n/a Gavin Degraw - Follow Through: n/a Gwen Stefani - Luxurious: n/a (can't really say I know what to expect here, though.) David Banner - Play: n/a Keith Urban - You'll Think Of Me: n/a (it seems like this song has been at the bottom of the chart all year long. Or maybe it's just him.) All-American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret: n/a T-Pain - I'm Sprung: n/a (who?) Rihanna - If It's Lovin' That You Want: n/a Nelly - Fly Away: n/a (what's he doin' with a Lenny Kravitz song, though.) Young Jeezy (featuring Akon) - Soul Survivor: n/a 50 Cent (featuring Mobb Deep) - Outta Control: n/a Carlos Santana (featuring Michelle Branch) - I'm Feeling You: n/a Howie Day - She Says: n/a Ying Yang Twins - Badd: n/a Madonna - Hung Up: n/a (every 3 years people keep saying she's finished. And every 3 years, they end up being all wrong.) Simple Plan - Crazy: n/a Switchfoot - Stars: B Veronicas - 4ever: n/a (who?) Rob Thomas - This Is How A Heart Breaks: B Shakira - Don't Bother: n/a (seriously could be anything from an A to an F, though.
Alternative:
Nine Inch Nails - Only: A (I like this just as much as "The Hand That Feeds", now) 311 - Don't Tread On Me: A Audioslave - Doesn't Remind Me: A- (I always find a way to like their songs, even though they're never anything we haven't heard before.) Foo Fighters - DOA: B+ Staind - Right Here: C+ (it was okay at first, but the song just got really boring.) Shinedown - Save Me: B- Killers - All These Things That I've Done: B+ System Of A Down - Question!: A Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To?: B+ Foo Fighters - Best Of You: B+ (The Foo Fighters really should be getting pop hits with most of their songs, especially now with the top 10 being 40% crossovers.) Disturbed - Stricken: B+ Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body: B Trapt - Stand Up: C Avenged Sevenfold - Bat Country: A White Stripes - My Doorbell: B Seether - Remedy: B- Strokes - Juicebox: A- (so far) Korn - Twisted Transistor: B- 30 Seconds To Mars - Attack: A System Of A Down - Hypnotize: B+ (so far) Weezer - Perfect Situation: n/a 10 Years - Wasteland: B- (should this song ever die.) My Chemical Romance - The Ghost Of You: B+ Coheed And Cambria - The Suffering: n/a (looks like I'll have to burn the album to hear this. The radio continues to play their 'teaser' single, "Welcome Home", here.) Depeche Mode - Precious: A- (so far) Story Of The Year - We Don't Care Anymore: B+ (so far. The promotion of this song seems piss-poor and it will probably kill this band off.) Seether - Truth: n/a Jack Johnson - Good People: n/a Coldplay - Fix You: B+ Institute - Bullet-Proof Skin: n/a Bravery - Unconditional: B+ O.A.R. - Love And Memories: n/a Offspring - Next To You: n/a Taproot - Calling: B+ Default - Count On Me: B- HIM - Rip Out The Wings Of A Butterfly: A Morningwood - Nth Degree: n/a (Heard it once and remembered it being kind of annoying, but I wasn't really paying attention.) Fray - Over My Head (Cable Car): n/a (I'd like to at least hear it before it falls off the chart.) Living Things - Bom Bom Bom: n/a (who?) Blink 182 - Not Now: n/a (I'm sure I'll get plenty of opportunities) Weezer - We Are All On Drugs: A- (the song completely folded right when the video was released. I wonder if that's a coincidence.) Disturbed - Guarded: n/a (Disturbed is not that big-name of a band, "Stricken" isn't exactly turning any heads on the chart, and this song isn't even a single. How is this still on the chart.) Gorillaz - Dare: n/a Queens Of The Stone Age - Burn The Witch: n/a (I could change that simply by playing the album. But where was this third single when Songs For The Deaf desperately needed one?) 3 Doors Down - Live For Today: B Mudvayne - Forget To Remember: B (No excuses; Epic should be able to do much better with a top-10 followup. It's doing fine at Active, but that's not enough.)
A. C.
Rob Thomas - Lonely No More: C (#1???) Michael Buble - Home: n/a Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway: C Mariah Carey - We Belong Together: C Eagles - No More Cloudy Days: n/a Anna Nalick - Breathe (2AM): B Backstreet Boys - Incomplete: C Kimberley Locke - I Could: n/a (if her other hit single is an indication, her music is worthless.) Carrie Underwood - Inside Your Heaven: n/a Goo Goo Dolls - Give A Little Bit: B- (what's this still doing here.) Hootie And The Blowfish - One Love: n/a (lol...still tryin'...) Jon Secada - Window To My Heart: n/a Eric Clapton - Say What You Will: n/a (I'm sick of all those commercials for high-speed internet companies who try to plug his new singles as if he's this huge pop star, though.) Delta Goodrem - Lost Without You: n/a Jim Brickman (with Wayne Brady) - Beautiful: n/a Natalie Grant - Held: n/a Simply Red - Perfect Love: n/a Vertical Horizon - Forever: C (the song is exactly the same as "I'm Still Here".) James Blunt - You're Beautiful: n/a Jesse McCartney - Beautiful Soul: D (ok, enough songs with the word "Beautiful" in them, please.) Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone: C- Paul McCartney - Fine Line: n/a Scott Grimes - Livin' On The Run: n/a Michael Bolton - Til The End Of Forever: n/a
Hot A. C.
Sheryl Crow - Good Is Good: n/a Goo Goo Dolls - Better Days: n/a Josh Kelly - Only You: n/a 3 Doors Down - Let Me Go: B- Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day: n/a Train - Get To Me: n/a 3 Doors Down - Here By Me: n/a Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl: D Natasha Bedingfield - These Words: D+ Liz Phair - Everything To Me: n/a Def Leppard - No Matter What: n/a (I've witnessed at least 3 middle-aged complete strangers calling this 'a sellout song', though.) Tommy Lee (featuring Butch Walker) - Good Times: n/a Collective Soul - How Do You Love: n/a Daniel Powter - Bad Day: n/a Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With My Heart: D+
Triple A
David Gray - The One I Love: n/a Neil Young - The Painter: n/a Bonnie Raitt - I Will not Be Broken: n/a Aqualung - Brighter Than Sunshine: n/a Dave Matthews Band - Dreamgirl: B+ Tracy Chapman - Change: n/a U2 - City Of Blinding Lights: n/a Nickel Creek - When In Rome: n/a Herbie Hancock (featuring John Mayer) - Stitched Up: n/a Rolling Stones - Rough Justice: n/a Van Morrison - Stranded: n/a Jack Johnson: Breakdown: n/a Eric Clapton - Revolution: n/a Amos Lee - Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight: n/a Wallflowers - God Says Nothing Back: n/a Beck - Girl: B Susan Tedeschi - Tired Of My Tears: n/a Tristan Prettyman - Love Love Love: n/a Carbon Leaf - Let Your Troubles Roll By: n/a John Butler Trio - What You Want: n/a
Active Rock/Rock
Crossfade - Colors: B+ Hinder - Get Stoned: n/a Sevendust - Ugly: n/a Staind - Falling: n/a Thousand Foot Krutch - Move: B (Surprised to see this on any chart; I thought it was just Can-Con.) Offspring - Next To You: n/a Scott Stapp - The Great Divide: n/a Black Label Society - In This River: n/a Cold - Happens All The Time: B+ Chevelle - Panic Prone: n/a Ill Nino - What You Deserve: n/a Vaux - Are You With Me: B Prom Kings - Bleeding: n/a Theory Of A Deadman - Hello Lonely (Walk Away From This): C+ My Chemical Romance - Helena: A+ Casanovas - Livin' In The City: n/a Dope - Always: n/a Revelation Theory - Slow Burn: n/a Fear Factory - Supernova: n/a Roadrunner United - The End: n/a ---- Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds: A System Of A Down - B.Y.O.B.: A+

Marques Houston - Naked: n/a Destiny's Child - Cater 2 U: n/a (it wouldn't be a Report Card topic without at least one mention of the immenency of a new Destiny's Child song becoming an F, though.) Chamillionaire - Turn It Up: n/a Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley - Welcome To Jamrock: n/a Lyfe Jennings - Must Be Nice: n/a Juelz Santana - There It Go (The Whistle Song): n/a P$C (featuring I.I. & Lil' Scrappy) - I'm A King: n/a (how the f*** are you supposed to pronounce the artist's name.) Still big pimpin', spendin' cheese, with the Jigga Man, Pimp C, and B-U-N B...
Well damn, RIP. All that time away from the scene and they finally reel in Outkast to be their featured artist and now this happens. This is the first I've seen about this too. Although on Pulse anytime it's a rapper who dies, it takes someone other than John to post about it.

I must say I like this more than any other hip hop song with a female guest vocalist that I can remember.
Actually I can't remember really liking many of those at all.

The only semblance I ever noticed with this song is that it's a truly horrible record.

You didn't actually expect it to do anything on the charts, did you? I mean her music is so faceless that it's actually her identity. The run had to end sooner or later.

Cause it's a chick flick, plain and simple. I like the song. If "Crazy Bitch" hadn't been released until now, it would sweep the nation, but it'll simply go down as a really popular cult classic that opened the door for them to try songs like this.

I'm not aware that I've heard a song by them, but still, one look at some of the posters and crap of theirs I see in stores and it's pretty clear there's very little hope for this act at this point in their career.
The Disney Channel used to be its own entity, with its own niche, and even though most of the music was pitiful, I was fine with its existance, because it wasn't intrusive. I'm mad that they're successfully trying to expand their operations beyond its own little box. With this, and that Miley Cyrous song which I can actually confirm is pitiful.
