Joy Division - Heart and Soul (It's somewhat insulting this went out of print because the "reissues" use bonus discs for shows and this has both full albums if you're interested, and it was meant to make the complete experience in what Substance and Still had attempted.)So wait...are you saying that Heart and Soul contains both Unknown Pleasures and Closer, as well as all their songs that weren't on either of those albums? (Like "Dead Souls" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart"?) EDIT: Nevermind, I wikipedia'd it and saw it was a 4-disc set. I was skeptical that you'd be able to cram it all on one or two anyway. Anyway, brace yourselves...It's gonna be a long one: Psychostick - The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride (Co-worker burned multiple copies for any of us that wanted it. Still haven't listened and haven't heard any of their songs besides "BEER!" so I don't know if this is any good.)Mike & Cindy's Ho Ho 2006 (Co-worker [and wife]'s annual mix CD of Christmas novelty songs. Didn't really care much for the one he made for this year [not my kind of humor, mostly], but he brought in some from years past, along with other novelty Christmas CDs he's burned, so I only took the one from last year, as that was the first Christmas we were co-workers. It's not like he had any idea what any of us took/didn't take or have/didn't have.)2008: Radiohead - In Rainbows (Never got around to listening to my mp3s that I ironically stole from a different website, but that didn't stop me from going to Best Buy and paying $7.99 for the CD the week it hit stores.)U2 - Boy (used buyback, leaving October as their only studio album I still need.)Tool - Salival (I couldn't believe it my first day at my new store when I saw a used copy of this sitting on the box set shelf. Granted, it was $54.99 because the damn thing's already long been out of print, but my employee discount knocked it down to about $38.)Voodoo Glow Skulls - The Band Geek Mafia (used)Eighteen Visions - The Best Of (Title is misleading, considering it is 2 songs off their first EP , 5 songs from their first album, 3 songs from a 7", all of which was re-recorded, plus a new song. It was used and I'd never seen this in any store before.)Danzig - II: Lucifuge Misfits - Walk Among Us Misfits - Static Age Danzig - 6:66 Satan's Child (These four were all used.)Rancid - B sides and C sides (Had completely forgotten about this and didn't think it had been released to stores. [Certainly wasn't in my store.] Saw this for $10 at Hot Topic when the ex-gf and I went to Hot Topic to exchange one of the gifts she got me.)Metallica - Kill 'Em All (used buyback)The following is all stuff I burned to disc finally, after having it on my hard drive anywhere from last fall to last week: (And there's still plenty more I need to listen to in order to decide if it's worth burning to disc.) Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose Alkaline Trio - Maybe I'll Catch Fire Bad Brains - Bad Brains/I Against I (combined)Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady Johnny Cash - 16 Biggest Hits Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Converge - No Heroes Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain Miles Davis - Bitches Brew Devo - Greatest Hits The Dillinger Escape Plan - Plagiarism (EP) Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited From Autumn to Ashes - Holding a Wolf by the Ears Marvin Gaye - What's Going On Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On Gorillaz - D-Sides Jay-Z - American Gangster Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures Joy Division - Closer Kings of Leon - Because of the Times Lamb of God - Sacrament Lil Wayne - Tha Carter II Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose MC5 - Kick Out the Jams Joni Mitchell - Blue Joni Mitchell - Hits Mobb Deep - The Infamous New York Dolls Nine Inch Nails - Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D NOFX - Ribbed Poison the Well - Versions Prince - The B-Sides Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed Sick of It All - Blood, Sweat and No Tears The Smiths - Singles Stevie Wonder - Talking Book Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life Wu-Tang Clan - 8 Diagrams Saturday Night Fever soundtrack

I now am putting up the "RWIB" version. Oh, and looking at previous post, does that mean you'd also like the upload of Rocks, "Free" and Gorilla Buscuits? I could bring 'em here next week. Many of the Half Price Books CD's got marked down to four bucks and many of these selections are taken from there. The Afghan Whigs - Unbreakable (A Retrospective 1990-2006) (I only knew "66" and the remake of the Supremes' "Come See About Me" but it was enough for me to want full list price for the record.)Fugazi - Repeater + 3 Songs (used)Between the Buried and Me - Alaska (Even if it's from Wal-Mart it was so cheap that I took it new. A bit less than 9 bucks without the tax. Besides, the f-words aren't removed on this one .)$4 used deals include: blink-182 - Take Your Pants Off and Jacket (Green version) Poison the Well - Versions Luscious Jackson - Fever In Fever Out (I hadn't taken much interest beyond "Naked Eye" until I heard it at a friend's house a few months ago.)The White Stripes - "Conquest" (They have a physical CD at Best Buy. The titles of the B-sides intrigued me too much to not buy it, even if I usually can't get into the B-side stuff from them.)Other used stuff: 2Pac - Greatest Hits Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Smashing Pumpkins - American Gothic (EP) (They have it on CD at Amazon.com and so I took it from there.)Björk - Medùlla (used)Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session (used cassette.)

Picked up the following for $10 a piece, I've been waiting forever for these ones to go on sale:
Incubus A Crow Left Of The Murder Incubus Make Yourself
I've also been waiting for this one to be cheap enough for me to buy. I passed on the regular version, but I wanted to get this version because I loved the "My Love" video. It was weird how this was priced the same as the original version at Best Buy (Canada) though, which was $14:
Justin Timberlake FutureSex/LoveSounds (Deluxe Edition)

So far '08's purchases have been: some stuff from a used shop, some collections by 60s/70s/80s artists, a Crowded House single, a couple 90s country discs I needed to get some work done, an Erasure single, Kate Nash's album, Robyn's Rakamonie EP, some Feeling singles, New York Dolls' self-titled album, Jimmie's Chicken Shack's Bring Your Own Stereo, Sam Roberts's We Were Born in a Flame, the newest releases from Natasha Bedingfield, Tim Finn, and Joe Jackson, some albums from Mary Chapin Carpenter's catalogue, The Fifth Dimension's Soul & Inspiration, Eileen Rose's Party Dress EP , and the 30th anniversary reissue of Nick Lowe's Jesus of Cool.
I'm working under the assumption nobody cares, but I'm tracking my year in music on the web this year in case some soul out there does.

;Honky's Ladder" is the mad nooch. I can only assume that's on there, seeing as it was the first single from Black Love. Oh, I guess you learn something new every day. I guess I assumed from reading the liner notes they were pushing "Going to Town" as the main single. The collection doesn't include "HL" but has "Town," "Crime Scene - Part 1" and "Faded" from the album. Currently I'm in the middle of uploading some of your requested files, but I'll try to get as much of it up as I can tonight and tomorrow. I'll try getting BTBAM and Arcade Fire soon, seeing as you'd like those, too.

The collection doesn't include "HL" but has "Town," "Crime Scene - Part 1" and "Faded" from the album. Well that's totally f***ed, then. I remember when both videos debuted on 120 Minutes (never heard either on the radio). "Honky's Ladder" was clearly first and got much more play. I looked up the stats on R&R and it has HL peaking at #28, 7 WOC, with "Going to Town" surprisingly never charting. (I thought it would've at least made the 40's somewhere.) That's really odd that they omit HL for those other two, the opening and closing epics on the album. I remember reading an AP feature last year or so, that had the bassist from Hawthorne Heights interviewing Greg Dulli. I thought it was odd (yet cool), considering I didn't hear any Whigs influence in HH's music. I think that inspired me to dust off my copy of Black Love and I totally heard it in the second song, "My Enemy." EDIT: Why don't I go ahead and just upload Black Love for you? I'll try to do that tomorrow morning.

Everything so far has been ripped on my computer. Earlier tonight I picked up and put the last four GB songs; they're up and will be finished with Neon Bible very soon, and BTBAM is next.
And I've still done quite a bit more shopping for CD's: U2 - War U2 - Boy (Best Buy had a bunch of U2 albums on sale at one point. These were $7 each and I upgraded these from cassette. It may have been earlier, but I don't see it posted.)
Blackalicious - The Craft Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion II (both used.)
Dave Gahan - Hourglass (CD/DVD) (The first track has a guitar solo from John Fruciante.) Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits (My brother bought this one six years ago; I'm well familiar with this.) Hmmm... I think all of these were intended to be posted last time, but do not appear.
Nirvana - Incesticide (Cheap used CD. Kind of impulse buy I feel, because unless you're a diehard it isn't anything special. I choose to stick with the studio and live stuff.)
Sleater-Kinney - The Woods (Used promo. I enjoyed it enough to dust off the earlier albums, and I am a bigger fan of theirs than I was before. I soon will try to get the highly acclaimed Dig Me Out, but it takes time when you're seven albums deep.)
Beck - Odelay (Deluxe edition) (I already have this but I never even bought it full price anyway and I was intrigued that there was a full album's worth of B-sides offered, as well as "Deadweight" on the first disc and such.) HIM - Dark Light (I wish I hadn't let the band's image get to me. I gave Razorblade to a friend in my senior year of high school, but I think with a more open mind this should connect mroe to me. I had streamed this a few times around when it came out.) Bulworth soundtrack (both used.)
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu (36 Chambers)
From a club: Black Sabbath - Paranoid (I hadn't heard this in three years.) Gorillaz - Demon Days Jay-Z - The Blueprint The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing (Boy do I miss this! In fact, after a few plays I think I've lowered my opinion slightly of SWG which is down a half point from it's peak but was also headed in that direction, anyway. A memorable album from start to finish.)
The Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart (used.)

Eh, those are two I'm leaving on my hard drive for now anyway, because I still haven't listened to either of them all the way through. This way, if I've got my WMP on shuffle, hopefully some of the tracks will cycle through before I actually get around to processing the whole albums.
Ain't no thang, though. Take all the time you need.

Well it's been almost a month since my last update. Although to be honest there isn't much I've added.
Porcupine Tree - Nil Recurring (Counterpart to Fear of a Blank Planet, this is the outtakes. Wasn't too badly priced at Best Buy so I got it.)
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited Beck - stereopathetic soulmanure (Borders had it for "50% off" so I got a "new" Beck CD for 8 bucks. Nice enough, even if the thing's inconsistent as hell and I don't know what to think.)
Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out (used.) Bauhaus - Crackle: The Best of Bauhaus (used.)

Beck - stereopathetic soulmanure (I got a "new" Beck CD for 8 bucks. Nice enough, even if the thing's inconsistent as hell and I don't know what to think.)Think it's great. Here are the gems I can remember by title alone: "Satan Gave Me a Taco" "Rowboat" (later covered by Johnny Cash!) "Today Has Been a f***ed Up Day" Dig him stopping to stomp around in his garage while hollering the chorus, before rushing back over to the microphone to pick up his banjo again and shutting off (accidentally??) the tape recorder! "Cut 1/2 Blues" Yes, that reads "Cut-in-Half Blues." "Ozzy" "No Money No Honey" Truer words... And the 17 seconds of him using his leafblower I'll try to upload the Afghan Whigs album this week. Would you believe that the only CDs I've added to my collection (other than a mix CD I made for someone else and kept a copy of) since my post on January 27 incidentally happen to be the two I bought today? Well, y'know, with no hours whatsoever at the record store now, I really only have one job right now. And with no used CDs being bought for our nominal buyback cost, there really hasn't been anything I've needed to buy so far this year. Until now anyway. I've downloaded tons, but haven't yet gotten around to burning anything off that needs to be without hearing any of it first. So here are the only 3 CDs I've added to my collection since January 27: *****'s ... Birthday Mix CD ... OneRepublic - Dreaming Out Loud Wanted to buy the album ever since the week I got to see them, due to hearing the mp3's enough times for it grow on me that much. Refused to pay over $10 for it. Finally this week, Circuit City has it on sale for $9.99. I was kind of losing hope I'd ever see it that low again.Ashes Divide - Keep Telling Myself It's Alright $7.98 at Target.

Yeah, I remembered liking "Rowboat" and actually had heard the Cash version first. A couple years ago I borrowed Unchained from a public library and had heard "Rusty Cage" a few months before the death. I think I liked "One Foot in the Grave" too.

I've bought a few more this month:
Thrice - The Alchemy Index, Vols. III & IV: Air & Earth Shiny Toy Guns - We Are Pilots Johnny Cash - Unchained (Used for $9.99. The only 1 of his 5 American albums I had left to buy. I think I have all the Johnny Cash I'll ever need now.) Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me (to replace my burned copy) Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor 2.0 (But that doesn't mean I was happy to buy it again. Though "The Squeeze" is awesome and their cover of "Clean Sheets," like "Epic" last summer, is a fun rippin' good time.) Madonna - Hard Candy Puscifer - "V" Is for Viagra: The Vagina Remixes Portishead - Third
I saved 'em all up for today, because I can't think of anything major I'll be buying in the next several weeks.

DJ Skee presents: Expensive Taste (mixtape) (Since their record labels won't let their group release anything official, Paul Wall, Skinhead Rob, and Travis Barker had to go the underground route last year.)
The rest of these are all burned: Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Atreyu - Visions (Their very first EP that I wasn't even aware of and would otherwise be impossible to track down.) Backstreet Boys - The Hits: 1995-2008 (I basically took the files for their actual hits CD, arranged them chronologically, and added in all their other American singles.) Bad Religion - Into the Unknown (Their extremely ill-received foray into progressive sounds and slower tempos that was immediately swept under the rug and has never seen/will never see a release on CD.) Between the Buried and Me - The Anatomy Of (A covers album by these everydude prog-metal titans (named after a Counting Crows lyric), featuring their takes on cuts by Metallica, Motley Crue, Soundgarden, Queen, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins, Earth Crisis, Sepultura, Blind Melon, Faith No More, Depeche Mode, Pantera, and, of course, Counting Crows.) Dead Milkmen - Big Lizard in My Backyard Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple NOFX - Liberal Animation Suicidal Tendencies - s/t UGK - Underground Kingz
And as soon as I get more blanks on Friday, I'll be off and running (burning) again.

It's been quite a long time since I've updated. I'll see what I've got now:
Depeche Mode - The Best of Depeche Mode, Vol. 1 (CD/DVD) (For completion purposes; I already have "Martyr" and the only thing I hadn't still not gotten was that edited "Dream On" version. If you have the two singles compilations, those songs play the same here.) Eminem - The Slim Shady LP The B-52's Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Vol. I & II Frodus - Conglomerate International (Cheap used CD I bought because I was interested in hearing them.) A - Monkey Kong Portishead - Third
The Second Wave (Official Starbucks new wave compilation that has plenty of classic and some obscure stuff.) The Afghan Whigs - Uptown Avondale ($1 used, good condition. Covers EP they released before moving on to Elektra.)
Against Me! - New Wave (Even though they're not the same band I initially knew them to be, this was just $8.99 new and felt the need to get it.) The Black Keys - Attack & Release
The Who - Who's Next [expanded] Senses Working Overtime (Both $7.99 new. First part of The Second Wave compilation of Starbucks. It does include the XTC track and many others.)

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell (Burned. Some guy was selling CD's for gas money on a truck. I gave him $5 for this.) Big Pun - Yeeeah Baby ($4 at a flea market.)
Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun (Somewhat expensive used CD online, but it's been out of print for a long time now. Although I found a re-issue at Best Buy. Sheesh.) Moby - Last Night Weezer (Red Album) [deluxe] The Police (That double-disc retrospective from last year.) Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous (used.) Gym Class Heroes - The Papercut Chronicles (More flea market used fun.) 311 (Used. I have to admit though that I prefer Soundsystem, the other studio album I've got of theirs.) Coldplay - Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends Vast presents Bang Band SiXXX - Relay EP (So it's not really electronic, but I don't know how to classify it though. It's interesting but I like all the VAST albums way more. To be fair, I like those all more than a lot of stuff, anyway. Ordered online; I think that's the only way you get it.) Helmet - Meantime (used.)

I think that the collection plays each song as the A-side singles, so I'm guessing it probably isn't different.
And what I've gotten since then: Thrice (That three-song AOL session promo from Best Buy. You don't have to buy their other works to get free, either. Completion purposes, honestly.) Gorillaz (Used, original issue.) 30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie (Used. That copy protected thing and the message on the back booklet prevented me from getting it sooner.) Ol' Dirty Bastard - N***a Please (Also used.)
Nine Inch Nails - The Slip
R.E.M. - Murmur (Nicely priced for a full price album and kind of an impulse.) Alkaline Trio - Good Mourning (used.)

Last week: Ice Cube - Raw Footage (Even though I don't have War & Peace, Vol. 2 or a physical copy of Laugh Now, Cry Later, this one sounded like it would be way more serious and focused than his last few, and it was getting his best reviews probably since Lethal Injection 15 years ago. Plus now I've finally purchased a Cube album on release day.)
This evening: DragonForce - Ultra Beatdown (special edition) Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone (Now I've purchased albums by those two bands on release day, as well. I didn't opt for the deluxe Slipknot, because it was 3 dollars more than the deluxe DragonForce. And I'm not as interested in the making of their record as I am DragonForce's. I'll just get the 3 extra tracks online.) Suicidal Tendencies - s/t (replaces my burned copy from this spring.)

I didn't really buy a lot by comparison last month. I'll probably not do much until the new TVOTR disc.
Flea market deals, $3 each: Dave Matthews Band - Crash Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy (!!!)
More used stuff: PJ Harvey - Rid of Me, roughly $4. Res - How I Do ($3 used curiosity buy.)
Morrissey - The Best of Morrissey (HearMusic's [Starbucks] physical media CD's are being taken out soon, and this was 30% off of the $11.99 price)

Since my last post: 9/13:Metallica - Death Magnetic (Still haven't listened to it)9/16:Avenged Sevenfold - Live in the LBC and Diamonds in the Rough (The first night I got it I watched the DVD and made mp3s out of the songs. Additionally, I made mp3s out of my city's intro video and the encore video and placed them accordingly in the tracklist.)Metallica - Ride the Lightning ($9.99 at Best Buy. Still haven't listened to it)9/30:Bleeding Through - Declaration Last night:Danzig - III: How the Gods Kill ($6.99 used)Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III ($9.99 $5.99 used. I tore a 40% Off Used Item coupon out of the free alternative weekly, made a list of stuff to look for, and went shopping. Would you believe that out of the 24 items I wrote down to look for used, they only had 4 of them, including these 2, which were the two I wanted most in the first place? Needless to say, I was pretty satisfied.
Up until I was looking to get rid of my TC3 mp3s and realized I had just bought the revised version I had no idea about, where "Playing with Fire" was removed due to sample clearance issues and replaced with "Pussy Monster." Oh well. At least I still have PWF on mp3. I'd just prefer to have the original pressing. )
