Wow, this song is quite tolerable vs faux-lesbianism. J/k. (LOL -- I remembered some of that lingo...HA!) I like it a lot. Should be another hit for Katy. I love the retro style a la disco/electronica rhythm. It worked for Metro Station's "Shake It" and can do the same for Perry's "Hot N' Cold." www.youtube.com/watch?v=utxWFknBG9k

My mom has a Barbadian friend who is close friends with the people who discovered Shontelle. Btw...Shontelle is a new artist from Barbados like Rihanna. Anyway, I think the track is a really nice pop/R&B tune. I really like it. It sounds like background music to perhaps an apparel advertisement from Target. Maybe not so much....hey it's just a thought. www.youtube.com/watch?v=33mK2T5AH2g

There was a topic for this already? LOL... I'm sleeping. I guess the original poster is getting his wish, since it is blowing up at mainstream radio at the moment.

I admire the Oscar Award winning J-Hud who starred in her noteworthy role in "Dreamgirls" and lately in the "Sex In The City" movie, plus she was a former AI contestant. This song is fire! She should be getting more attention with the track at Mainstream Urban. Although, she is doing quite well at Urban AC. I love it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ojza4LcC-4

I think this is a great track. Jazmine is a refreshingly talented newcomer. I'm really impressed with this song. She's currently #2 on the Urban chart. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSELVXI1XCg

I know I'm a bit late for this. Now the track is almost done at the format. However, I'm surprised "Bottle It Up" didn't do nearly as well as "Love Song" at pop. The Hot AC performance is alright. I think it is a great followup. Sara is a really talented young woman. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHX3oTEB4i8

I've been hearing this song a lot. The song is a bit whiny and I can't make out the hook very well. Maybe I'm just a formulaic person but somehow it is translating well to pop stations across America. I can see why the song might be infectious and heartfelt. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Mb8k8lfkmc

Eventhough David Archuleta ended up the runner up of the last Idol. I'm afraid that he'll be getting more attention in the pop world than David Cook. He is already set up to be a hearthrob (maybe due to his age alone) and his music reeks pop to the max. The song sounds pretty good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBiW44cWu4c

David Cook has a great voice, which is the reason he won the last Idol. The song is bit sleeper-ish but really inspirational (I like this!). He is having quite a decent run at pop and it looks like he'll be hanging in the top 40 for a few more weeks. I can't help but to think of him and David Archuleta (runner up of the last AI) in the same thought. The same name, hence same competition is a bit much, don't you think? LOL. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqGC27yfx70www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAsR4q6P_fQ

I've been hearing this song for quite some time (and also "Boyz"), because my little sister is like the biggest M.I.A. fan and is always playing her CD over and over. I thought she was kinda annoying, but I admire the way she individualizes herself. The song is cheezy cute. I figure she'd eventually get mainstream attention sooner or later. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqlY0VOFtyA

LL Cool J is managing to sustain longevity despite hitting the 40 mark. I have to give it to him for being in the game for so long and keeping up too. The song seems rather formulaic though. Just a signature and safe LL tune, nothing interesting or noteworthy. Dream has such a boring and weak hook, IMO. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfFQewpL4Sg

The followup hit to "The Way That I Love You." I think the track is quite pale in comparison. It is quite catchy and picking up though. I like it enough! The video is also interesting although it rips off some Kelis'-esque visuals. It also features her beau Nelly of course. (Ashanti/Nelly is becoming a cheap version for Beyonce/Jay-Z coupling -- I guess) www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoccwF01MLs

I love this song! Robin Thicke makes some hot jamz. It is so catchy. I hear the track so much on all of my local Urban, Rhythmic and Urban AC stations. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtHtquy539U

Ah the hidden member of Destiny's Child (LOL): Michelle Williams is making her first attempt to gain mainstream appeal with "We Break The Dawn." The song has topped the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. It is from her upcoming solo album Unexpected due in October in the U.S. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKDyM2fzjN4I've heard this track is quite a popular one from my clubgoer friends. There is a remix to the song which features Flo Rida. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hcl-gObnLI&feature=related (They need to release this version to mainstream markets - I can see it getting significant pop airplay.) I like the production efforts of this song and the vocals are cool.

Whoa...major cheese fest. But it is doing really well on the Hot 100. Are these evidences that a sort of "teen pop" craze is returning? Especially with Miley Cyrus and Metro Station thriving on the charts. Watch out for a Miley clone in the coming months: Selena Gomez (Who I think is dating one of the Jonas Brothers...why do I even care about this stuff LOL) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScXLHgPcZuc

The track has made top 5. I really enjoy it. The song was used as background/instrumental music and as an outro at the "Teen Choice Awards: 2008" where Miley Cyrus hosted of course. LOL!

I love this song! It is quite poppy. It is way better than his previous flop hit, "Elevator" which was quite mediocre. This song should have been the one to follow on the heels of his successful #1 hit "Low." The production efforts for "In The Ayer" is quite sweet IMO. It rekindles the energetic night clubbish vibe that was demonstrated in "Low." www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DsyZdeFjug

The track features Project Pat, Young D and Superpower. What's up with all of these hiphop songs mimicking Lil' Wayne's hit, "Lollipop"? I caught the video on BET last week and I instantly thought it was the most moronic rhythm crossover hit that I've heard in a while. LOL! But of course I'll be bumpin' along to it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r_ZFh6HiJ0&feature=related

I'm digging the track. It's really funky track and Lady GaGa is a hot mess (in a good way). hehe. I did some research on her and found out that she is bisexual and went to NYU. I used to substitute teach briefly at her former private school: Convent of the Sacred Heart here in NYC. Hmmm sounds like an interesting woman.

The main thing that makes the track so enjoyable for me is that the sound is not obnoxious at all, it is really friendly and catchy. Unlike many of the contemporary rap tracks that I listen to.
Akon's chorus is alluring. The switching of code really hooks me too: Kardinal singing in Jamaican patois and reverting to the English rapping voice. I can't get enough of that. He he. He must've gotten that hint from Sean Kingston. LOL!

Great song, nice to see he is performing well. Ne-Yo has certainly been overdue of a solo mainstream pop hit to nearly equal "So Sick." (Not counting the Rihanna duet) I enjoy the seemingly climactic effect of "Closer." He exceeds the talent of Chris Brown hands down and is the only male soul artist IMO that gives mainstream Urban an inch of credibility right now.

Congrats to Jesse on his first #1. I think it is a rather deserving song for the top spot. It truly fits the bill at the format. I rather have him block the s*** out of Katy Perry going to #1. Hooray for "Leavin'" for keeping the nitwit-ish Perry's "I Kissed The Girl" at bay. P.S. I can't believe I download the latter song on my iPhone and I actually listened to it at the gym. Boredom, I guess.
