The hook is rather riveting. The vocals are haunting. Varying ranges and emotions are showcased throughout coupled with a semi-upbeat instrumental capturing moments of "crisis" and questioning. Should be another winning single for Rihanna. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR-7_AcNo7A

She floods the market with so many singles, usually forgetting that quantity should take the backseat to song quality.

They just want to cram as many singles out of her as they can so she can go back to flipping burgers or something when she's done.

This topic is in the wrong section, as this song is not popular.

I admit that I really liked Rihanna a lot more when she first started out and was true to her Caribbean roots. Her image and flair was captivating. I thought she was so unique. But now they have made her so commercial, mechanical and desperate to make hits for the masses. It is rather disappointing.
I used to think songs like "Pon De Replay" and "If It's Lovin' That You Want" were so charming. It captured the "real" Rihanna. Eventhough I still respect Rihanna's role in the industry, I don't really like what she has become. In my mind, she's a sell out. I don't like to use that term for seemingly aspiring artists who want to explore different genres, but she didn't have to revamp her image so drastically.

I actually like the video, despite it being a freak show.

This has been a grower with me. I may chart it soon.
It's now better than "Hate That I Love You" and "Take a Bow." Maybe better than "Shut Up and Drive" when all is said and done. Then again maybe not, as "SU&D" (and "Umbrella," of course) makes me nostalgic for my awesome summer and fall last year.
