Deer

That sucks. I've been lucky and haven't hit one, though I've seen plenty that were in places they had no business being if they care about their lives. This spring I was driving back from Boston (this be right before I left that godforsaken area of the country for good), and I saw a deer run right out onto the road in front of the van ahead of me. The deer broke into many pieces which came flying at me, but I managed to avoid them except for one which hit my roof but didn't cause any damage. Thankfully it hit the van in front of me, which was pretty hefty, instead of my Honda Civic. But in any case it was way gross.
At least deer are nowhere near as bad as moose.

Yeah, Tower can be a bit spotty. I've been to a few that weren't so great, but the one down by the Sports Arena is the best record store in San Diego. Though I guess when the next best one is uhh... the Sam Goody Superstore ( ), that's not saying much. Still, I've found everything that I want at this particular one and I couldn't even say that about Virgin, which we don't have, but there needs to be. I also like that Tower will still honor sale prices if they forgot to take the price tag off. HMV is good too, I'd put that close behind Virgin and far above the next one. Though it doesn't seem to be doing that well in the US. I stocked up at both of the ones in Boston during their going out of business sales (I think they went kaput just one or maybe two years apart), & did get quite a deal on the Simple Minds re-issues. I'm curious to know which Virgin Records Megastores you've been to. Are there any special sections? Some are better than otherrs, like the one in Times Square has the best import section of any place I've seen. The Boston & Chicago ones have a cafe, which looks like a cool idea, haven't seen that at any others (Except for the one in Tokyo, where I got a green tea mocha... lol.) The other ones I've been to, in Sacramento, Newport Beach, and Salt Lake City, aren't terribly big, but still had a decent import rack.

Which is your favorite record store chain? I didn't include places like Wal-Mart, Best Buy or Borders because even though they sell music, they're not exclusively music stores and they don't have as extensive of a selection as the others.
I picked Tower due to having an unbeatable selection and better sales than the others, although Virgin Mega is a close 2nd because most of them have an import clearance rack worth rummaging through, and I like that I feel drenched in superficiality whenever I go into one.

Well Steve, I don't get free AA batteries, and with an iPod you don't have to waste time burning downloaded songs onto a CD. I used to have a CD discman for about 5 years that served me well, but it got lost in Canada, and for my birthday this year my Dad got me an iPod. Putting lost 90s tracks from 80s new wave bands on shuffle makes walking so much easier, something I try to do as much as possible of but it's not always practical, especially here in SoCal aka suburbia. But yeah, the battery sucks, all I have on it is MP3s and it doesn't even seem to be 10 hrs.

Not anymore, thank god. I graduated this spring, which was about two years too late, and now I'm taking some time off to be the low-life I never had time to be before. My dad was trying to get me to go to grad school right away, and as much as I want to go sometime (& preferrably UCLA), I burned myself out a few too many times and piling on more of that is not what is needed right now.

This used to be one of my favorite places! Anyone else like this place? In many towns it was the only restaurant where you could order mussels. My favorite dish was cheez ravioli with alfredo sauce. (It normally comes with meat sauce, and they charged $1 extra to sub alfredo sauce... ) I lost my interest in pasta a few years back though, so I haven't been there for awhile. Also I don't see them that often anymore, but I'd imagine they're still around.

One of my favorite shows and I'm happy that they just moved it to 4 (used to be at 5) rather than cancelling it totally like I thought they did when I didn't see it.
Today one of the questions was "Name a song that has 'Blue' in the title" and I'm mad that "Blue Monday" wasn't up there. The top two choices of course were "Blue Moon" and "Blue Suede Shoes" and who knows what the rest of them were.
Any other music questions that you noticed? Or other questions in general you liked?

The real reason? Or the reason that they conjured to get rid of him? Oh btw, I've noticed that you've been in Australia for awhile... how's that? What are you over there for?
