I was hoping Hawaii would beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl out of sheer curiosity to see what reception's reaction would be. Maybe he'd spaz out in his weekly post of the football team's score? Maybe he'd leave the boards permanently? Maybe he'd try to assassinate Colt Brennan? Alas, Georgia had to screw everything up.
Seriously, he would be like me posting about how I hate the Red Sox and then proceeding to post their boxscores every day in the relevant MLB topic. I wonder if I should start a topic on college volleyball on Pulse to see if he'd post every one of UH's results in there too.

I wonder if I should start a topic on college volleyball on Pulse to see if he'd post every one of UH's results in there too. I've been pulling for Hawaii all season because of this. I must admit though, I wasn't even aware of his extreme distaste for Hawaii athletics until last season, when he started putting all his thumbs-up emoticons to every Hawaii defeat. And people still assume that just because he's from Hawaii that he's a Warrior fan. Maybe that's why he does it. I don't know what the hell goes through that guy's mind. I think it was last year he posted one of those press releases on Warrior football and at the back end of it he shockingly wrote "I hope they lose", and I was thinking that was part of the article because I've never seen him display any opinionation anywhere. It's still densely hazy as to why he feels that way too. 'Cause they never have any players make it in the NFL??? Who gives a crap! No wonder they all laughed at him when he requested off work to attend the 2006 Pulse Music Board Awards. I'd be on the lookout for excuses to laugh too when everybody there's a die-hard Warrior fan and he's an equally die-hard anti-Warrior fan for no apparent reason.

Did Pulse get... deleted? It keeps redirecting me to the Proboards homepage when I try to go there, as if the Pulse URL is no longer valid.

I managed to find a way to fit Chuck Norris into the answer of a question on a Biology test. Let's see how that plays out.

I'm so thankful I went to YouTube for a completely unrelated reason, saw this man's newest video on the front page, watched it, and then watched this other one he apparently made last year: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDTkTAo_l2gThat was seriously teh catchphrase of 2007. (And I still love the s**t out of it. )

I started listening to 89x's hitlist, starting off at #20.
It was a re-entry by Silversun Pickups called "Lazy Eye". What is that. First they forget to put "The Pretender" on their 2007 year-end countdown, and now this. They already still have "Calling You", "Island (Float Away)", and "Straight Lines" in the top 20. That's the best they can come up with to fill that last spot?

Sounds like when Chicago jumped on "Lazy Eye" a couple months ago out of nowhere.
I imagine the hitlist is a top 20 countdown? I wish my station was cool enough to make one.

Yeah, that's what it is, but I don't think it's based on anything other than a committee of one picking out 20 high-impact songs that the station is playing. Which is ok. Radio is for casual music fans anyway and there's no reason to get too technical with it.
Usually their adds for the week will appear somewhere in it, no matter how often they've been played (which is the main reason I check in on this countdown). So I listen for them to play "Nine In The Afternoon", which they added, but they instead opted to put "Lazy Eye" in this top 20.

"Lazy Eye" is up to #17 now on that list, so it was no space filler. Also added this week: Amy Winehouse - "You Know I'm No Good", after never having played anything from her. Oddball enough for me to check Mediabase to see if it's getting an Alternative push. It isn't.

Might have something to do with the Grammies. "Rehab"'s getting a pop push:

My pop station back in the 90's used to take live calls on the air over Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Brain", and now that I think of it, those two tracks are somewhat similar.
What an ironic combination that would be to make a "You Know I'm No Good (Insane in the Brain Remix)".

That's the most pop-centric I've ever seen the songs in your playlist signature.

Anyone else notice the speech balloon with an ellipse this site has for an icon? On Firefox, at least.

How exactly do sites get those icons to show up in address bars anyway?

By placing an icon file by the filename of favicon.ico in the root directory of the webserver. This habit started with IE 5.

The occasion was our annual employee party.
Today I had a shot of Jager at like, 2pm. Then a Guinness with dinner (hooray for corned beef and cabbage!), but that was all I drank today. I would say "ironically," but I actually did have some alcohol today.

Happy Easter, everybody. Holy crap it's snowing! Huge flakes. (Merely minutes ago, I was looking out the window for a minute and noticed a couple tiny flurries. If I'd just taken a passing glance I wouldn't have noticed a thing. I hadn't even heard it was supposed to snow today. All I heard was maybe a light shower or two.) By the way, I can smile about that because I know it's not going to accumulate. I'm done with snow for this season. And look, already the size of the snowflakes has diminished.

K. Mart's music playlist is pretty rad for a retail store. I was in there the other day and they played a 311 single. And if I left it up to people to guess which one it was, I wonder how long it would take for anyone to guess "Transistor", which is what the song was. .

I've been downloading a ton of 311 over the past few weeks, because I've never heard any radio station play them. I ended up deleting everything before "Creatures (For A While)", but it was good to finally hear them.
My station, with the exception of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and a couple Pearl Jam songs, conveniently ignores 90's grunge and alternative. This means no Sublime, no Alice in Chains, no Beck besides "E-Pro", no Nirvana other than "SLTS", no pre-"With Teeth" Nine Inch Nails, no pre-"Americana" Offspring, no pre-"Shangri-La Dee Da" Stone Temple Pilots, no Bush, no pre-"Green album" Weezer, no Soundgarden beyond "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman", no pre-"Californiacation" Red Hot Chili Peppers, no Radiohead, no Rage Against The Machine, no pre-"10,000 Days" Tool, no 311, and only a handful of Pearl Jam, Live and Smashing Pumpkins. My only association with these songs is through Mediabase's Alternative Gold charts. And I must say, in all honesty, that for a genre of music Alternative has been focusing on for over 15 years that some of it just sucks.
