83. Marc Broussard- "Home" That's the one.

90. This is definitely the most obscure song on the top 100, since it has only been played on one radio station as far as I know. Shares its title with a song from a North Carolina rapper. This one's worth 2 points. The song is called "Vibrate".
89. One of the most ubiquitous song titles out there. Six songs with this title (including the song here) have hit the Pulse 100, and the most successful of them is by an artist with three Pulse 100 #1s to her name (but not the song with the shared title). One of the aforementioned artist's #1s had the quickest rise to #1 in Pulse 100 history. (Now you'll have to figure out what that song is, then remember who sings it, then think about one of her song titles that's rather common.)
86. (album cut) There was some speculation on the Pulse board that this song would be released and eventually cross over to Hot AC, but they instead opted to release a song that was mixed for radio a la Evanescence (but it still flopped). The first single off this album was released over a year and a half ago, but is still on the Alternative Top 50 sans recurrent rule.
81. Different formats got the same song with different instrumental tracks (more drastic than just a "guitars down" edit). Lyrics: "Like a glowing city on the plains, you call my name." (2 - 3) Christian act; the title is also the non-parenthesized portion of the title of a huge Alternative hit that crossed over and peaked at #27 on the Pop chart in May 2004.

Damn, I forget about the Marc Broussard song because I hated it when I first heard it. 90) C. City Riderz - Vibrate 89) Anna Nalick - Breathe 86) Breaking Benjamin - Forget It 81) Sanctus Real - Everything About You You got all of them except #89 (but you're not too far off, because that'll appear later on). And you still get the bonus point for "Vibrate". 81. Sanctus Real- "Everything About You" That's correct, and again you tied with someone, so you'll also get credit for this one. All I can say for #89 is to think of another song called "Breathe".

89. Jeremy Camp- "Breathe" Not correct - and that's another song I haven't heard. The genre for #89 is slightly different. (I'm being sarcastic.)

Yep. After 20 songs: 9 - friday 8 - Mega248 5 - halo19 I'll put up the next set of clues tomorrow. Steve, I want you to have a chance at some of these too, so what's the best time for me to post them with the best chance that you'll be online?

I'll put up the next set of clues tomorrow. Steve, I want you to have a chance at some of these too, so what's the best time for me to post them with the best chance that you'll be online? Well it seems as if most of our participants all tend to hang around online during the same times of day (sporadically by day, and always by late night). I think my best chance would be to just keep trying until I get lucky one of these times. Thanks for posting this topic on this board, BTW. Now I don't have to ask people to do it. Although it makes sense, since everyone that's interested in these games is all here.

80. IIRC, this either just made or just missed the top 10 on Alternative. On my chart, it has the most weeks in the top 50 for a non-#1 with 28. Considerably more successful than the first single, and also more successful than the third and final one (nationally). The CD version of the song is nearly 6 minutes long. Snow Patrol - Run (a Nick O!)
79. Some people say the current Alternative #1 on Mediabase sounds like this song. Audioslave - Be Yourself (crash46)
78. Underwent rather minor vocal changes for its radio release. Was previously guessed incorrectly. Weezer - Perfect Situation (a Nick O!)
77. Lyrics: "with your glasses and all your books" Louis XIV - Finding Out True Love Is Blind (crash46)
76. Some stations played the "prequel" instead. Slipknot - Vermilion Pt. 2 (Mega248)
75. The last single from their debut album. Later released a soundtrack single that flopped (both on the national charts and mine). Velvet Revolver - Dirty Little Thing (a Nick O!)
74. This one is from a soundtrack. Couldn't come close to duplicating the multi-format longevity of their most well-known single (which made the AC chart). Finger Eleven - Thousand Mile Wish (Mega248)
73. Lyrics: "Sometimes I still think of you"
72. The final verse of this song was cut from some radio stations, presumably because it disrupted the flow of the song so much. Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz f/Usher & Ludacris - Lovers and Friends (a Nick O!)
71. "Rock should be heavy enough for the boys and sweet enough for the girls. That way, everyone is happy and it's more of a party. ___________________ [the band's name with one word changed], is too lopsided." The band was originally called Gamma Ray. Queens of the Stone Age - Little Sister (crash46)

A little early since I'm a bit pressed for time:
The lead singer's name is Gary.
78. Underwent rather minor vocal changes for its radio release. Was previously guessed incorrectly. In the video, the last letter of the band's name is dropped.
76. Some stations played the "prequel" instead. This clue is a giveaway.
75. The last single from their debut album. Later released a soundtrack single that flopped (both on the national charts and mine). Has something in common with the #92 artist.
73. Lyrics: "Sometimes I still think of you" If I got the wrong lyrics, I'm sincerely sorry.
72. The final verse of this song was cut from some radio stations, presumably because it disrupted the flow of the song so much. "Here's a pillow."

Would #76 be "Vermillion" by Slipknot?

80. Snow Patrol "Run" 78. Weezer "Perfect Situation" 75. Velvet Revolver "Dirty Little Thing" 72. Lil Jon featuring Usher & Ludacris "Lovers & Friends"
and I can almost hear 73, but can't come up with it.

Would #76 be "Vermillion" by Slipknot? Yes... sort of. I'll give you credit, but I was specifically charting "Vermilion Pt. 2". "Vermilion" also charted, but peaked in the 40s. 80. Snow Patrol "Run" 78. Weezer "Perfect Situation" 75. Velvet Revolver "Dirty Little Thing" 72. Lil Jon featuring Usher & Ludacris "Lovers & Friends" and I can almost hear 73, but can't come up with it. 4 for 4! Nice.

Dammit, that was it!
And for Snow Patrol, I was scanning the charts and couldn't come up with a band that fit all the criteria. Then I thought, wait, the song was probably from last year, since it was so big on your chart, yet so low.
And the funny thing is, I had just read an article on Snow Patrol on mtv.com shortly beforehand, talking about their new album, and didn't even remember that the dude's name was Gary.

70. The follow-up single debuted on my chart in November, but has already surpassed this song's peak. The All American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret (crash46)
69. "His catacomb has got me by the chin" Chevelle - The Clincher (jcmf3)
68. Hit the top 5 on CHR/Pop and the Hot 100, despite my initial reaction (and others') being "I'd be surprised if it hits the top 40". Lifehouse - You and Me (bellhorn12)
67. Shares the most recognizable lyrical aspect of Five For Fighting's "100 Years". Snow Patrol - Chocolate (Mega248)
66. No higher than my seventh-favorite song on the album, one with two PC #1 hits, but still wound up peaking at #14 in February. Did about as well on the Alternative chart. Lostprophets - I Don't Know (Mega248)
65. Underwater. Submersed - Hollow (crash46)
64. "The spaces in between" Weezer - Beverly Hills (jcmf3)
63. The highest-placing cover on the year-end chart. Went for adds at a format it's never tried before, and skipped their "home" format. Ra - Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (Mega248)
