I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick of that Kesha banner on here and on Pulse. She looks like a goddamn porn actress, for crying out loud.

I actually have never seen it (and I don't use an ad-blocker right now) until somebody posted a screenshot on Pulse. And yeah, she looks like she's getting it from behind. I also didn't realize she was white.

I also didn't realize she was white. With a name like Kesha (pronounced kesh-a, though it really doesn't matter), who would expect her to be white? Well, fingers crossed, I haven't seen the banner today.

Yeah, the corner of my eyes had to look at that banner all last week since Foxfire completely crashed, burned, and died on me. I looked at that picture and was like "Who do they think she is, anyway? Who does she think she is? Why would I want to go to Kesha's party???"
She was a major reason I had to get that Foxfire up and running as soon as possible--to get that s*** blocked up.

I've never seen an ad banner for any song on here or Pulse, let alone one that has yet to crack any chart. Speaking of which, that should be reason enough for them to take it down already because it's been up for like a month now and still hasn't done much in the way of boosting her airplay.

With a name like Kesha (pronounced kesh-a, though it really doesn't matter), who would expect her to be white? Well it also didn't help that in place of her, a black female dancer was lip-syncing her part in the music video for Flo Rida's "Right Round."

The banners seem to appear when a keyword is used often so now that everyone's talking about Kesha, her banner will appear every time someone views this page.

Sounds about right. Some forums at Pulse had gay-themed ads at the top a while back, which became "gay chubby dating" ads in the weight thread. None of us have spelled Kesha's name with the dollar sign though... shouldn't that help?

The banners seem to appear when a keyword is used often so now that everyone's talking about [you know who], her banner will appear every time someone views this page. We have a new addition to the censored words list. I can't see any of the ad's anymore, so if it's working (or showing up less frequently), go ahead and say so.

(By the way, the song itself blows. Surprising, I know.) Oh my god. You weren't kidding. I was having trouble falling asleep the other night, so I decided to turn on my HD radio on low volume. I'd never heard this before, but I heard an absolutely awful, no-talent song--one of the worst I've heard this year--and something told me this was what it was. Sure enough...

And you have some kids on pulse actually changing their nickname after this s***ty title, and a lot of them are saying it's an instant #1 smash. That frightens me.

Hmm....Would this happen to be anything like that episode of Seinfeld when George Costanza's mother unexpectedly came home in the middle of the day? No. Thankfully, I've been spared that indignity to this point in my life. No, it's actually a lot less hilarious then that, and I'd say I'd be doing you guys a favor by not mentioning any details. Though you're more than welcome to keep guessing.

I considered guessing that last night, but unlike Nick, I couldn't think of a cleverly subtle enough way to phrase it at the time. Unless the answer involves your roommate using up all the hot water, I'm stumped.

I'm gonna guess it may have something to do with an emergency numéro deux with chances of being the explosive variety... possibly from eating Mexican food?

Unless the answer involves your roommate using up all the hot water, I'm stumped. That was my guess... but sadly I think Sunny got it right. Sorry. I've been able to (narrowly) avoid that despite three of us sharing 1 bathroom.

I'm gonna guess it may have something to do with an emergency numéro deux with chances of being the explosive variety... possibly from eating Mexican food? Bingo, except for the last part. I'll just note that around 7:10, I went down to the Subway around the corner for a sandwich, and noted my roommate was in the bathroom. I got back around 7:40, and he was still in there. A couple minutes later, my... accident happens, and so I have to use the public restroom in the building lobby, which thankfully is only one floor down. I suppose there were a lot of things that didn't happen that could've made it worse (e.g. running into someone I knew, having it happen this afternoon during class instead, etc.), but it's still something I'd like not to repeat this century.

Ryan Seacrest has gotten a lot of crap from people on Pulse ever since he took over American Top 40. But I can only imagine the reaction if someone like this guy had taken over.

That guy was a complete tool. I don't understand. Why do Pulse folks hate Ryan doing the Top 40 now? Who would they rather have?

I don't see any ad's here when I'm on the computer, but I do see them when I'm using Safari Mobile. That's when I noticed that now they have an ad for Mika's new single or album. God, that s*** is gonna be queued up on Pulse for 70 years from demographic research alone, not to mention the number of people typing out his name over there.
At least in this case, he's too, uh, sensitive to become anything more than a niche artist; no need to worry about smash hits or anything. I didn't even think "Grace Kelly" was a bad song; just a f***ed up song that I don't need to ever hear again.

Is it worth even dragging my "Mr. Brightside" topic on Pulse out any further? I couldn't come up with anything else to say. The whole point of making the topic was to go out of my way to ignore Artie's idiocy in the resurrected "Mr. Brightside" topic. I mentioned to at least one of you (maybe penance is the only other one besides Steve) back when I first started ignoring him, that I was thinking of creating a duplicate topic for at least one of the ones he started. Thinking that to be too obvious and dickish, I thought about essentially parroting him (using different words) as the first response in a topic of his creation. My "Mr. Brightside" topic was the first time I actually did anything of this nature. I would've just not bothered with it, but he was being such a stubborn and insulting asshole in the other topic, I thought if we were gonna be talking about a live recording, we should talk about a live recording, free from his homophobia. Penance got it. Artie either laughed "with" me to "save face," or he must think I was being for real, I can't tell. Probably the latter.

I didn't get what you were trying to do at first, but that was before I'd noticed that ridiculous bumped topic. Couldn't have picked a better time to pull that one, if you asked me.
But it has run its course, the original topic has been locked, and No Brake$ got in the last shot, harshly, but truthfully. I don't think it needs to be dragged out any further, unless somebody happens to open another door for another sick burn.

Yeah, no need to carry on any further now, for sure.

If he hates them so much, what was the point of bumping up a 4.5-year old topic to say something only marginally news-worthy?
Also, is "sissy-indie music" the 2009 version of "wouss rock"?

I just noticed today that Steve and myself (as well as penance, TGAC, and...*sigh* Artie ) were nominated in Pulse's member awards "Best Alternative/Rock poster" category. I'm flattered. And surprised I hadn't been told already. I also noticed Ethan, Matt, and Andrew pick up at least a nomination or two in other categories. If anybody else was nominated, forgive me for overlooking it. I read about halfway and then skimmed the rest, fatigued from recognizing so few of the names.

Ethan and I only got nominated for Best Admin. At least Andrew got noms in some relevant categories: Most Sensible Opinions and Most Intelligent (as well as Most Likely to Hook Up). TGAC should be ineligible for Alternative Poster, due to his name coming from the chorus to Paris Hilton's "Stars Are Blind".
