My AEP has declined from 3.77 to 3.6 over the last couple months.

For some reason, now when I submit songs from my iPod, it submits each song twice. And when I went to delete the duplicate submissions, it deleted both submissions, so now it's as if I never played them to begin with. Can you tell me how you do that? (I figure it'll have a greater chance to be seen by you on this board.)

I assume you mean deleting songs. When you go to your profile page, click on "Recently Listened Tracks (edit/see more)". Then, click the trash icon on the songs you don't want.

Well, I assume he meant submitting songs from an iPod, so just in case that's so, you have two options, depending on your OS. If you have Windows, you need to download iSproggler. If you have a Mac, you need iScrobbler.

'Cause I tried to figure that out a while back (I even joined the iSproggler group on last.fm) but it looked really complicated.

So I guess if you wanted the ultimate measure of how varied your musical taste is, you could just multiply the eclectic score by the AEP. I guess you could call it the "exponential eclectism score." Given the parameters of each score, the minimum would be 0 (discounting negative AEPs) and the maximum would be 500.
Mine comes in at 236.94 (66 x 3.59).
Just for fun, here's the EES of various Sirius Satellite Radio stations.
Alt Nation: 277.76 (64 x 4.34) Hits 1: 238.55 (65 x 3.67) The Pulse: 323.38 (74 x 4.37) Octane: 203.32 (46 x 4.42) Lithium: 190.4 (56 x 3.4) The Spectrum: 308 (80 x 3.85) 60s Vibrations: 215.94 (59 x 3.66) Buzzsaw: 163 (50 x 3.26)

I still don't fully understand the AEP score. Mine is a negative...

I still don't fully understand the AEP score. Mine is a negative... It means you're listening to one or two artists way too much compared to other artists.

My top weekly tracks this week was pretty funny. You have played six different Chis Richardson tracks in one week as many or more times than I have played any of my songs in itunes (my primary music player on my computer) over the last two years. Just so you know. I finally signed up for this but it's too early for them to calculate any of my percentages. Even though I did submit my past history upon initialization.

Here's this weeks: But to be fair, that week posted earlier was the week of the AI tour, so I did go a little crazy...haha

Just so you know. Same here! My highest played song over the last two years is Disturbed - Guarded, at 10 plays. I don't know why, but I really liked that one two years ago.

My most played songs of the last two years are "Bat Country" and "Bug Eyes", each at 15 plays apiece. It's saying my total tracks played is at 7964, so I'm basically listening to 11 songs per day on the computer, on average.
I have an eclectic score of 68 and it's too early to call for an AEP score.

Why on earth does "Dead" by My Chemical Romance turn to "dEaD" on Last.FM...?

Why on earth does "Dead" by My Chemical Romance turn to "dEaD" on Last.FM...? Because of how it's tagged. If you're using winamp, right click on the song in your most played or recently played and "edit selected info."

I think what happens is Last.FM uses the most popular tag, which explains why Matchbox 20 changes to Matchbox Twenty and whatnot. Still, why "dEaD" is so popular is beyond me.

My top song(s) have 21 plays, over 2 years and 3 months (although it doesn't count in-car and iPod plays of course). It always amazes me how those people on Pulse post their iTunes most played lists and they go into the hundreds in the space of a few months.

Okay, I'm blind. So after some math, I listen to 36.8 songs (that are tracked) per day. Interesting.

My totals would be a lot higher had I not stopped using Last.FM for months on end. As it stands, the top song still only has 10 plays.

But yeah, stuff like that helps me understand how those kids think things like Joyce and Caliente and all those ridiculous catch phrases can be funny when repeated ad nauseum in hundred page topics for years on end.

Even though I did submit my past history upon initialization. OK, wait a minute; you can do this? When does it ask you that? So I guess I'm the leader in the clubhouse, with 27 (28 once I get my iPod plays for today) plays for my top song, over 7+ months. It would probably be a lot higher if I hadn't fallen behind on my personal chart, since I tried to listen a playlist for my PC songs on my iPod each week. Unless they've never heard it before, I just can't understand how anyone can listen to a song on repeat several times. Hell, whenever I get two different songs by the same artist within a short timeframe, I almost always skip the second song.

Heh, I just did this with the new Foo Fighters song... a couple of times last night, then about 7-8 times tonight (but since I don't have an mp3 for it, it doesn't show up). I hardly ever do that though.
