1 and 4 aren't switched, are they? Hmm, not exactly... 8) Theory of a Deadman - No Surprise 2) David Banner - Play You got #8. Great job! Considering #2 pluralizes "asshole," you may not have meant to guess "Play" at #5. It's not on the chart anyway. Interesting note: It was just today I heard the fully uncensored version of "Play." It was on a friend's mix CD he made and played in my car. And mother of god, that's like some 2 Live Crew s***, in terms of blatant, vile sex lyrics. How could he have, like, an English degree, I believe it is, from a state University, be a seemingly likable, do-gooding guy, and then make the nastiest sex lyrics out there today? And as I understand, his new single is the same kinda thing. Also, although the song title on the album is "Stay Fly," it was on that same mix CD that I unfortunately found out Three 6 Mafia actually says "stay high" every time in the song. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. I know the black community is not, so why is urban music so f**king one dimensional! Nick smash!!! I digress. Here are the clues again: 10. Every single rapper on this song sucks big time. Dem Franchize Boyz f/ Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat & Bow Wow "I Think They Like Me (Remix)" (halo19)9. Artist adopted a Jamaican accent (y'know, 'cuz it's trendy for hip hop to embrace Jamaica right now) for this pointless crowd-pandering single. Lil' Kim "Lighters Up" (halo19)8. If you extend the title to include the full line it appears in, you think, "Well no f**king wonder!" Theory of a Deadman "No Surprise" (friday)7. Payola and guest-artist assisted sassy bulls*** (but I assume when sung by someone else, is not half bad) that exemplifies everything wrong with pop culture and pop music today. And it's only number seven! (When I was making this list, do you know how hard it was for me to place this all the way down at number seven??) Pussycat Dolls f/ Busta Rhymes "Don't Cha" (halo19)6. Artist mentions somewhere he's never ever even been close to being, just in order to identify with the "thugs" in "the hood" and "keep it real." Later on, he mentions a line that instantly discredits everything he's been saying to his lady. Marques Houston "Sex Wit You" (crash46)5. Disgusting crunk sex jam with awful, intelligence-insulting chorus that agonizingly crossed over somewhat. Trillville f/ Cutty "Some Cut" (BlahBlahBlah)4. Thank god this abomination stalled quickly. Everyone would've thought this was atrocious if not for the goddamn name recognition. Jessica Simpson "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " (radical347/Mega248)3. Dying, indie-label gasp from rap-metal also rans, who now more than ever, are like an ICP-style joke. (It may be hard to come up with the song title, since most, if not all, of you may not have realized they even released a new album this year. It's a cliched hip hop word, if that helps at all.) Hed p.e. "Represent" (crash46)2. The music is fine. The music is fine. But why, oh, why do these chest-puffing assholes have to ruin it? (There's really one main unforgivable line. I may give it away with this, but I want to share this. If the line were directed at my girlfriend, she'd say, "I don't want mine beaten up! I'll beat yours up, and trust me, you won't like it!" Atta girl, Vicky!) Pretty Ricky "Your Body" (halo19)1. This is kind of like an SNL-sketch they try to stretch out for a whole movie. There's really nowhere you can go with this and be able to make a good song out of it. (Interestingly, SNL did in fact, have a sketch about one of artist(s)' songs, and probably the one that most of your minds are flocking to; however, that song isn't the worst song of 2005. It didn't even come close to making the list. This one did.) R. Kelly "Sex in the Closet" (Mega248)[/b

I thought I remembered a line in "Play" that talked about "beating up" or whatever. But maybe I was looking in the wrong direction...
2) Ying Yang Twins - Wait (The Whisper Song)
I have a couple ideas for other clues, but I'm gonna choose sleep first and see how the chips fell tomorrow.

I thought I remembered a line in "Play" that talked about "beating up" or whatever. But maybe I was looking in the wrong direction... 2) Ying Yang Twins - Wait (The Whisper Song) I'd never noticed a "beating up" line in "Play," but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Anyway, I figured people might guess "Wait," if I didn't get a little bit more specific; though "chest-puffing," I thought might have steered people to the correct one. (I hated myself for overcoming the misogyny eventually on "Wait." But there was nothing before that ever sounded like it.) 5. Some Cut - Trillville featuring Cutty Indeed. I guess I'll wait and see if Matt can come up with any of these before moving on.

Ooh, correct! I guess I could tolerate it more if they were all, y'know, over 25 or something. But I don't think any of 'em are even 20. And while I realize teenagers have sex, I don't think anybody, but especially teenagers, should disrespect women by saying how they'll "beat it up."

Wild guess:
1. Trapped In The Closet - R. Kelly

I'll go ahead and guess "Sex In The Kitchen" for #1 since I remember your stating in a report card topic that it was in the race for worst song of the year.

Actually, "Sex in the Kitchen" is correct. The clue was designed to steer you away from "Trapped in the Closet," as that was the song that had a hilarious SNL parody this fall. The first part and maybe I'd say up through the first 3 or 4 were unique and fascinating. Then the story started getting ludicrous and stupid throughout subsequent chapters.
6. Artist mentions somewhere he's never ever even been close to being, just in order to identify with the "thugs" in "the hood" and "keep it real." Later on, he mentions a line that instantly discredits everything he's been saying to his lady. I just noticed today on BET that they censor the song title, despite the video being shot using the original song a la Weezer's "We Are All in Love." I was pretty surprised, because all in all, the subject matter isn't as offensive as "drugs" may be. Already incorrectly guessed earlier. Marques Houston "Sex Wit You" (crash46)
4. Thank god this abomination stalled quickly. Everyone would've thought this was atrocious if not for the goddamn name recognition. Already incorrectly guessed earlier. Jessica Simpson "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " (radical347/Mega248)
3. Dying, indie-label gasp from rap-metal also rans, who now more than ever, are like an ICP-style joke. (It may be hard to come up with the song title, since most, if not all, of you may not have realized they even released a new album this year. It's a cliched hip hop word, if that helps at all.) Maybe their name means something to them (or maybe they were just high/are just idiots), but it looks like gibberish. Hed p.e. "Represent" (crash46)

Since 4 isn't "These Boots," but with what you've said... umm... Eminem - "Like Toy Soldiers"?

You guessed "These Boots" at #1 and "Ass Like That" at #4. Based on my reply, you asked if they were switched. I said "not exactly." #1 has already been revealed.
Now you've gone and assumed too much.

4. Jessica Simpson- "These Boots Are Made For Walking"? (in all fairness, if that's the right answer, by asking if 1 and 4 were switched Davey technically did guess "Boots" for #4 )

Hmm. That's interesting. It is "These Boots," but I didn't give it to him then, because he kind of half-assed the question.
I'll give you both half a point, how's that sound?
Anyway, there's only one logical guess for #6 and it was back on page 1. Somebody please go and get it.
And for #3, they had a minor alternative hit in the fall of 2000 and their only other one was a minor hit in the spring of '03. If you know who it is, look up the album for the song I'm looking for. I wanna get this done so I can begin my lyrics game for my Top 256 songs tonight.

How 'bout "Represent" by (Hed) PE for #3, to finally get on the board. Seriously, before this last round, the total number of songs I've heard on this list was 3. The top ten pushes that total to 7.

Is #6 "Sex Wit You" by Marquez Houston? It's the only wrong guess that stands out from the first page (so far) that could possibly fit.

However, there is a certain irony present, that I'll bring up later. I tried to make those NIN cuts a little tougher just for you. Even upon reading back my own clues, I didn't know what was what for a lot of those.

249) Nine Inch Nails - Every Day Is Exactly The Same 247) Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body Those are correct. The irony, Kirk, was that in getting all those NIN album cuts, you missed one of the singles. 229. My Chemical Romance - "Headfirst for Halos" 228. My Chemical Romance - "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us" 248. Taproot - Calling 242. Sneath - Youth (lol, one of my professors is named Sneath) 241. Mario - Let Me Love You I've also sent you some guesses via PM (I've explained why in there). Here is Matt's message: Like last year, this is fine. However you guys wanna get the no-lyric, synonymous album cuts is fine. All these quoted guesses are correct.
