Sorry I'm late. A7x - "Seize the Day" for #49.
I watched the video for "The Crimson" last week, actually. I guess I was so preoccupied with figuring out if I'd heard it before than thinking it could've possibly been the other missing answer.

24. System of A Down- "B.Y.O.B." Damn, you're good. "The Hand That Feeds," while maybe technically accurate thus far, is not correct.

Well holy smoke, I'm gone for two days and I'm just about cleaned out. 15 is "I Caught Fire" by The Used (and how sleazy to not call it an album cut!) 14. Avenged Sevenfold - "Burn It Down" (and this one...) 13. Avenged Sevenfold - "Beast And The Harlot" (but not not this one!) Hey man, I knew what I was doing. Not that it prevented you from getting any of those, anyway. In the case of "I Caught Fire," I'm not for certain if it went for adds last August (though I think it did), it most definitely had a video. Fuse, if no one else, showed it regularly. As for A7X, "Burn It Down" had a video last summer (albeit just a live performance one, but with the studio song on top of it, a la Social D's "Don't Take Me for Granted"), and MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball," as well as Fuse, I'm sure, played it regularly, so I count that as the unofficial first single. "Beast and the Harlot," mind you, was not a single yet at the time my countdown was made back at the end of December, therefore I didn't count it as one. You still got 'em all (though, as I'm sure you might have seen, Kirk slipped in "I Caught Fire" as well as "Mr. Brightside" while you were typing up your reply). Anyway, only #11 needs extending: 11. [album cut] "darling, hold me in your arms/These will be our final days" Avenged Sevenfold "The Wicked End" (friday)

Here are the standings:
mtm4319: 40 halo19: 72 crash46: 64 friday: 44 picpak: 8 Mega248: 18
Now for the Top 10:
10. fatally 09. the life 08. day will break 07. holding on 06. just like 05. stopped 04. bleed 03. check 02. you know 01. you can
I deliberately made some of these overlap to make it harder to sort out what's what. There's one that next to nobody's heard, which will probably only be correctly answered for most of you by process of elimination. I'll wait for all of you to PM me your guesses, but if somebody won't be submitting any answers, speak up now.
2 points for every guess in the top 10, but in the wrong spot 5 points for every guess in the top 10 and in the correct spot 10 extra points for getting all 10 in the right spot
Fair enough?

He's waiting on me. I'm actually working on the answers as we speak, and upon finishing them, I'll get mine wrapped up as well.

Okay, here are everyone's guesses:
mtm4319:
Mega248:
halo19:
friday:
crash46:
Here are the correct answers: 10. Atreyu "Right Side of the Bed" [1(1) 43w, 2004: #4] 09. My Chemical Romance "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" [1(2) 44w, 2004: #10] 08. Bleeding Through "On Wings of Lead" [1(3) 34w, 2004: #81] 07. Nine Inch Nails "The Hand That Feeds" [3(1) 40w] 06. The Bravery "An Honest Mistake" [1(4) 39w] 05. The Used "All That I've Got" [1(3) 49w, 2004: #85] 04. Green Day "Holiday" [2(7) 52w, 2004: #69] 03. Green Day "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" [1(5) 48w, 2004: #49] 02. My Chemical Romance "Helena" [1(12) 52w, 2004: #67] 01. Avenged Sevenfold "Bat Country" [1(21) 28w]
Here are the extended lyrics, leaving no doubt as to what they are now: 10. "Our last dance ended fatally/Who's sleeping on my side of the bed/Tonight?" 09. "What will it take to show that it's not the life it seems?" 08. "Day will break on this saddest day." (I'm pretty sure Steve's the only one who's actually heard this. The rest of you who got this, probably did so by process of elimination. This is the first line of the chorus, which is melodic, so it would've been instantly recognizable, had anyone else actually heard it before.) 07. "I keep holding on and on and on." 06. "They move right through you just like your breath." 05. "I squoze so hard I stopped your heart from beating." 04. "And bleed/The company lost the war today." 03. "Check my vital signs" 02. "strike to incinerate/The lives of everyone you know." 01. "Scared, but you can follow me/I'm too weird to live, but much too rare to die."
Now the tricks that I'm sure twisted your brains as you tried to sort out what was what (At least the ones I can remember offhand): 1. It's possible that "the life" in "I'm Not Okay" could've been confused with "the lives" in "Helena." 2. "Holding on" appears in "The Hand That Feeds" and "Helena" 3. "Just like" appears in "An Honest Mistake" and "Helena" 4. "Bleed" appears in "Holiday" and "All That I've Got" and "blood" appears in "Right Side of the Bed." 5. "You know" appears in "Helena" and "Bat Country." 6. The clue for "Bat Country" appears in the coda, which is omitted in the radio edit.
Now, let's tally up the scores. Matt got 6/10 correct and 4 out of sequence. So 30 + 8 = 38 added to his score of 40 thus far, bringing him to 78.
Ethan got 6/10 correct and 2 out of sequence. So 30 + 4 = 34 added to his score of 18 thus far, bringing him to 52.
Kirk got a perfect 10/10. So 50 + his 10 extra points = 60 added to his score of 72 thus far, bringing him to 132.
Michael got 6/10 correct and 4 out of sequence. So 30 + 8 = 38 added to his score of 44 thus far, bringing him to 82.
Steve got a perfect 10/10 as well. So 50 + his 10 extra points = 60 added to his score of 64 thus far, bringing him to 124.
The totals: halo19: 132 crash46: 124 friday: 82 mtm4319: 78 Mega248: 52 picpak: 8
Congratulations, Kirk! You're the champ! Thanks to everyone who played this year.

2. "Holding on" appears in "The Hand That Feeds" and "Helena" ...And "Right Side Of The Bed", which I placed at #7 right from the beginning before listening to anything. Then I was left with a #9 and #10 for hours before I figured out what the 2 missing songs were. They were "I'm Not Okay", which I wasn't expecting until I read a September chart of yours that said it was in its 72nd week, and "The Hand That Feeds", which I wrote off because Kirk guessed it for a song in the 20's and I didn't remember that it was an errant guess. So yeah, this game was probably tailored for me more than anyone, and this was still the toughest top 10 out of all that I played. Michael's was a close second.

Now that you mention it, it's been so long since I made the clues that I'm not even 100% sure if I was aware of that one at the time, myself.

"Holding on" was one I associated with "RSOTB" more than anything, probably because it's one of the few lyrics I could understand of that song without listening extremely intently.
1 and 2 were a crapshoot to decide between; I thought "Helena"'s 24 extra weeks in the top 40 would be enough to offset "Bat Country"'s 9 extra weeks at #1. I haven't heard "On Wings of Lead", and I obviously didn't pick up on the "fatally" in "RSOTB".

Yeah, lyrics aside, most people would probably think that. It was a real pregnant dog to decide which would get top honors. I decided that since I like Avenged more, had become a lot more rabid about "Bat Country" since it got to #1 than when "Helena" was up there (which is hard to fathom), and because I was absolutely amazed that they friggin' wrote a song inspired by Hunter S. Thompson (!) before he offed himself, mind you that was their first mainstream breakout hit, I gave the nod to them.
