Remaining ones, for the use of the current page & to get to the next round:
74. "You're doing everything your people said to/I'd hate to be the one to break it to you/they must love you, women love you" [Considered a one-hit wonder band, but not by my chart's standards. That's the first verse of the song and another main line is "you don't have to be a genius but it helps too"] Harvey Danger - "Cream and Bastards Rise" (friday) 59. "I have no proof but I think that I'm right" Garbage - "Why Do You Love Me" 56. "walking crooked on the beach, she spits on the sand" 53. [album cut] Compound word and is instrumental. From Jimmy Chamberlin Complex. "Newerwaves" has words if that helps. Jimmy Chamberlin Complex - "Streetcrawler" (mtm4319) 52. "the battle's over, now my heart moves on" [unbolded is a prominent line of a song by a hardcore Christian band]

74) Harvey Danger - Cream and Bastards Rise (I was probably the only one with a legitimate shot to get this, too.)

59. Garbage "Why Do You Love Me" I feel like I should know 52, but I may be thinking of something completely different.

Well could the title of the particular song you're thinking of have a word that has to do with distance? (Or less distance). Well, the other attempted guesses are correct. Points for this pointa Nick O!: 17 mtm4319: 14 crash46: 8 friday: 6 slinky: 2 Mega248: 2 radical347: 1 56. "walking crooked on the beach, she spits on the sand/where the bones are bleaching" Beck - "Girl" (crash46)
52. "the battle's over, now my heart moves on/I kept my mouth shut while you screamed and cried. Haste the Day - "Closest Thing to Closure" (mtm4319)
To begin the second half: 50. "I can't seem to get enough" 49. "the ones they slightly wrapped in tape" The Mars Volta - "L'Via L'Viaquez" (crash46) 48. Are you people sure you know none of these? While plenty are obscure, there's like a few that were top ten hits, including one that hasn't been answered in the previous range.

. There's one of those that I was certain that you'd get. Extended: 52. " "the battle's over, now my heart moves on/I kept my mouth shut while you screamed and cried." [I'll just say that the first and last word of the song's title are synonymous. Band is three words.] 50. " you're the only thing I've got that I can't seem to get enough" 49. "blackmailed, she fell off every mountain/the ones they slightly wrapped in tape" 48. "in this illusion" 47. "these last lines that endeavor/to find the missing lifeline" [I'm unsure the lyrics will help, but the title is also partially a certain kid's movie from 2003]43. " And I can't believe howI've been wasting all my time" 42. "Now adjust it, you must trust me darling" 41. ?=the song title. While not in this particular chart, they have a song elsewhere in this topic.

Well, is it "Right Where It Belongs" by Nine Inch Nails at #48? (The only thing I was coming up with at first was "Parabola" by Tool, which was obviously wrong.)
Is 41 Mudvayne's "Happy?"
And does 47 happen to be "Nemo" by Nightwish, which I've never heard?

Post by halo19 on Jan 22, 2006 3:43:30 GMT -4
48 was the one I was thinking you'd get.
"Happy?" was already mentioned earlier in the chart. Keep in mind that the song title has to do with facial expression and that it's a question. If you look at some of the older charts in this forum, I think you'll see the song.

Good. I was hoping someone would get it by the non-Spanish lyrics, which I felt would've been a giveaway. And I didn't feel like those lyrics I posted were even that buried to begin with. I'll wait 'till Matt gets in here to go further, because there's one of these which he might get on the current set.

41. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - "Will You Smile Again?"
43's probably the one you thought I'd get. I'm not sure on it though.

The next set is coming soon.
I'll post these extended ones first:
52. "the battle's over, now my heart moves on/I kept my mouth shut while you screamed and cried." [I'll just say that the first and last word of the song's title are synonymous. Band is three words. They opened for From First to Last earlier this year, if that helps.] Haste the Day - "Closest Thing to Closure" (mtm4319) 50. "you're the only thing I've got that I can't seem to get enough/we collide for one embrace"
43. "And I can't believe howI've been wasting all my time/in (song title) they'll be laying flowers" Jem - "24" (mtm4319)
The new clues: 40. "seven years" Green Day - "Wake Me Up When September Ends" (crash46) 39. "she's got such a dirty mind" Bloc Party - "Banquet" (friday) 38. "an hourglass" Foo Fighters - "D.O.A." (friday) 37. "I'm endlessly caving in" Muse - "Hysteria" (Mega248) 36. "your fat friend, her name is minivan" Kanye West - "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" (mtm4319) 35. "what we had to sever" 30 Seconds to Mars - "Attack" (crash46) 34. "ten feet tall" System of a Down - "Old School Hollywood" (a Nick O!) 33. "take back what you said" 32. "it takes grinding to be a king" 31. "the fabric starts to tear"

34. System of a Down "Old School Hollywood" (although, based on the clue alone, and without consulting any of your weekly charts, it could be one of two things, you dirty, dirty trickster.)
I feel like I should know 40, too.

All are right except "Breathe (2am)". I'm actually shocked you didn't get the answer, as you seemed to guess that one right on every one of the games it appeared on.
One of those is an album cut, and the rest can be considered "hits" without even being much of a stretch. Whenever I extend the clues, it may remind you of what some of it might be. I sort of would also like to see if Steve would be able to get #40 without anything extended, and if that would possibly sink in to others as well.

"Breathe" was honestly the first song that jumped to mind with that lyric. I just wasn't sure that would be a song you'd chart.
OK, since I see it hasn't shown up yet, how about "Slow Hands" by Interpol?

Oops. I accidentally put a lyric that overlapped into another song. Though this time an accurate song was guessed as such, 'cos I tried that with the other one and it wasn't it. (see: Michael's first guess for "DOA"). One that'll be more obvious when I extend clues. (I'd like to believe that if Steve came into this topic that he would've at least known #35).
I kind of wanted to be vague as well.
