And everything. They even threw me a curveball by scrolling the lyrics to the falsetto pre-chorus throughout the refrain, which was unexpected, but it ain't no thing. .

Uproar FestivalAn evening with Avenged Sevenfold Yeah. Well their next tour is going to have Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, and some other pretty s***ty act (Black Veil Brides?). Seems like it's always been the norm for it to be a chore to sit through all their openers, so the Uproar tour, for me at least, relatively speaking, was one of their more compelling ones. I tell ya, it seems to me that every time you and I both get to see them on the same tour, they play that one for me but not you. Almost as if they'd been following us on this board where they'd know it would be in the upper half of my A7X album ranker and near/at the bottom of yours. I personally wouldn't have minded them playing a different song at that time, with all the times I'd seen it performed. But I was watching Syn the whole time during this song because his actions and mannerisms were priceless.

Yeah, about a week after it happened, I actually stopped and realized "WYWY" was a Rock Band song. I didn't remember "I Was Wrong" being as such, but sure enough, it was. So that makes those fellas only about 90% as cool as I'd originally thought they were for doing that.
I did eventually make my karaoke debut two weeks later with the song "Supermassive Black Hole", and if that one's in Rock Band, I haven't heard about it.
BFMV: Saw four songs, two of which were "Scream Aim Fire" and "Tears Don't Fall". Completely forgotten about how sick the former could be.
Seether: Identical to set from 7/15/11, but added "Tonight" before "Country Song".
Three Days Grace: The Good Life Break Pain (I Hate) Everything About You Home (with "Lose Yourself" interlude) Never Too Late Riot Animal I Have Become
Avenged Sevenfold: Nightmare Critical Acclaim Beast and the Harlot Welcome to the Family I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 Afterlife Not Ready To Die Scream A Little Piece of Heaven Bat Country Unholy Confessions
I wasn't going to go to this, having already seen them twice this year, but after reading the Billboard article that rockmaniac posted on Pulse, the setlist variation and stage description did it for me. Already knowing ahead of time what the core group of songs were, and which others were in the pool, I was ecstatic over how it turned out. M. struggled pretty bad with the high notes in IWSYT, but there are reasons why bands rarely play certain songs. 'A' for effort.
Probably seeing them one last time Nov. 30.
And I wanted Sunny to know that at his recommendation, I stopped and ate at Melt's on the way there. Good call, man. f***in' A good call. They told me that what I ate ("The Godfather"- grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with lasagna, basically) was going to be on the Best Thing I Ever Ate show this Monday. I kinda want to watch that show, if only because it's what I had there, even though I've never really gotten into any shows like that.

When a group of three black guys, all neighborhood-ish looking, stepped on the karaoke stage, we all thought the DJ had started spinning the wrong track when we heard the intro to The Killers' "When You Were Young". But he wasn't. Oh, he wasn't. . And if that wasn't awesome enough, the same three came back on a half hour later and did "I Was Wrong" by Social D. WTF!!! Who taught them that song! . Just another night of one Sugarland song after another and the ice finally gets broken by the most unlikely of sources!
First of all, I'm gonna talk about why I was here. I had seven straight days of no business, and in more of a need of a getaway than I've had in several years, there was no way I was going to spend it all at home. So I decided that I was going somewhere, and that destination would be wherever the most interesting event going on was taking place, which was this show, and I also took in a Red Sox/Royals game at Kauffman Stadium, which everyone raves about and I'd wanted to witness for myself, and I was lucky enough to see the only competitive game of the four Boston wins over the weekend. (runaway train sentence alert!).
Neon Trees and Middle Class Rut were there too, and I heard Awolnation performing "Sail" as I walked toward the stadium, but with 1-album catalogues, I wasn't recording setlists. MC Rut did provide the highlight of the evening though. Tyler Glenn explained the song "1983" being inspired about his distinct memory of his birthing process (his way, of course). MC Rut had the next set, and before playing "Busy Bein' Born", Sean says "I'm sorry we don't have more time to talk about coming out of our mothers' pussies". That was awesome. Had no idea that "New Low" actually had both of them on vocals too.
Bush:
Machinehead Little Things The Chemicals Between Us Afterlife Everything Zen The Sound of Winter Glycerine Come Together (Beatles Cover) Comedown
Incubus:
Pardon Me I Wish You Were Here Adolescents Consequence Anna Molly Promises, Promises Circles Vitamin When It Comes In the Company of Wolves A Crow Left of the Murder Drive Isadore Nice To Know You Megalomaniac
Jane's Addiction:
Whores Ain't No Right Just Because Ted, Just Admit It... Been Caught Stealing End to the Lies Three Days Irresistible Force Mountain Song Stop!
Encore: Jane Says
Bush did what I'd hoped they'd do--play the hits. A little surprised they only could play nine songs and that they blew one of them on "Come Together", but the crowd liked it.
Loved watching Incubus. I was completely fine with them omitting "Stellar", "Warning", "Dig", "Love Hurts", etc. because they played "Vitamin" and "Consequence", and even "Circles" got an 'Oh, hell no!' out of me. For a restricted setlist, that was pretty amazing. Now I kind of want to see them on their own and they are coming around here three times by the end of the month.
Jane's Addiction was behind the eight-ball. They are headlining a radio festival, and they have, for all intents & purposes, two radio hits. That's the same as Middle Class Rut, who was playing four hours earlier on the B-stage. Perry was losing his voice and sounded awful, and that wasn't going to win anyone over. He also constantly called out the wrong state, and emphatically so ("F*** Kansas; this is Missouri!"), which, being a resident of neither state, I thought it had to have been a joke until he apologized after the encore once someone finally tipped him off that he was actually in Kansas. He did get a lot of ladies to show their 'titties', being in 'The Show-Me State' and all, so at least he was The Man in that regard. It was an entertaining show at least for me, a casual fan who knew more of the songs they played than I didn't know. The hardcores loved it of course, but a lot of people were saying they were awful after the show, and the size of the crowd that was watching Incubus had diminished to less than half for Jane's Addiction. I wish they could have represented themselves better.

Just because I know we're all at the very least somewhat fans here and there's nowhere else to really talk about them... player.blaqkaudio.com/Good stuff. Saying they'll never hit the chart again hardly qualifies as going out on a limb though. .

23 20 FOSTER THE PEOPLE Pumped Up Kicks 3958 2907 1051 22.567 This is f***ing fantastic. I cannot remember any crossover like this one ever that can fully get behind that's just absolutely tearing it up, both here and on iTunes. Can't think of anything like it cracking four digits on their spin trend, either. They also might as well live this one the f*** up, 'cause it ain't happening again. Not with "Helena Beat", that's for sure.

I'll be going to the Buzz Beach Ball in Kansas City this Friday with Jane's Addiction, Incubus, Bush, and a handful of others with a hit or two under their belt.

I've heard "Up Up Up", because I might be seeing them, and I'll always listen to a song if there's a girl in the band. My most immediate thought was: the kids on Pulse who are running around talking about Alternative being too 'indie' because of Foster The People have obviously never heard of The Givers. It's uptempo and cheerful with guitars not being the primary instrument, kind of like Bedoin Soundclash or some of Vampire Weekend's songs. I didn't dislike it. Better them on the chart than some random Theory of a Deadman track, for sure.

By the way, pigs probably aren't that sweaty in Baghdad, considering they don't have to worry about being consumed as they aren't halal. Well, it's 130 unexaggerated degrees there every single day (that's 54°C), so they live a long, sweaty life over there . I kept telling all my weaker, more irritable acquaintances who were all freakin' out when it hit 100 (38°C) here, just to take a look at the international weather report. Except the ones that just get on the Facebook and post copy/paste a bunch of drivel all day about how our soldiers should be paid more than our President, because knowing the temperature over where they're stationed is only going to make them want to post that s*** more often!

Well it was mostly the headliners that all happen to play at once, probably due to the artists' individual scheduling. For instance, on Friday night I have to pick between seeing Muse, Girl Talk, Ratatat and Coldplay. I already saw Girl Talk a few weeks ago and I'll choose to see Muse because it's Muse, but I would have liked to see the other two. The headliners on Saturday are My Morning Jacket, Beirut, Pretty Lights and Eminem, I don't particularly care for any of them. However, on Sunday, I have to choose between Foo Fighters, Deadmau5 and Kid Cudi. I would be thrilled to see any of them, but I'm probably going to choose the Foos. Hmm, they never had any more than one other act on stage while any headliner was playing when I was there. Blues Traveler was playing opposite Death Cab on the first night. Kanye West and Manu Chao had the second night. The Red Hot Chili Peppers had the third night all to themselves, and personally, I think it was a terrible experience. 30,000 people lined halfway back through the park, all of them sweaty as a pig in Baghdad, 29,000 probably off their ass drunk, idiots trying to crowdsurf up the line from 1.6 km ( ) away, so you have to be watching behind you for your own safety, and in front of you for the show that's taking place. Then they only wanted to play for an hour which isn't enough time to cover half their hits, but maybe they were just having mercy on us all. I didn't want to mention all that in case it was gonna get inside your head, but that should probably be less of a problem with other bands drawing at least some of the attention away. Maybe they do know what they're doing. But Coldplay vs. Muse though...sweet merciful s***.

That's awesome, man! Sucks about the overlapping times, though. When I went in '06, I don't remember having that much of a problem with that. To me, the whole event was all about the bands that I only care to see 1-2 of their songs, and then bolting off to see another. Like, all the bands that I didn't want to worry about driving an hour or two to see individually for two songs were all rolled into one three day event, which made it totally worth seeing. Because, with the marquee names, I wouldn't have a problem paying more and driving more to see in a location with less than 30,000 people watching. I actually have the list of everyone I watched on page 1 of this topic. Yeah, that was a good time there. Nothing like Chicago this time of year.
You're not the first I've seen complain about this overlap either, which is puzzling. Maybe they couldn't roll up enough corporate sponsorship dollars to have the number of stages they had five years ago?

Even though there was just two setlist changes from the last time I'd seen them, it didn't matter. I even had a good time watching Sevendust, who only played two songs I recognized, and Seether, who just ran off seven of their hit singles, without humiliating themselves (unlike the last time I'd seen them). The venue even gave everyone in the crowd $20 to gamble with, which I was able to convert into $15 of real money to add to my career gambling winnings. Good times, as always. .
I tell ya, not having a modern rock station worth listening to...I go to the bar, some chick walks up to the jukebox and picks a song. It happened to be "Savior" by Rise Against. And I was like, "Hmm. Neat!" Totally would not have happened three months ago. She'd have to try a little harder for me to buy her a beer though .

Those covers added very little excitement to the overall experience. Then they want to try and play a remix of "3 Libras" that was barely even recognizable, only because it included a few lines of lyrics it shared with the original. No "Judith" (really, guys? ), or "Blue", either. This just could have been so much better.
Anyway, what's the Frisbee story? Also, they just randomly mentioned the f-word on the new album without actually playing the song it's from? Yeah, they didn't even play that opening track. And I haven't gone back and looked at my setlist, but that one looks rather different from the one I saw, which at the time, was showing no variation from night to night. Makes me want to not miss them again like I did when they came to Cleveland earlier this year.

Happy 30th birthday Steve !. Thanks you guys! (and striking out that number 30 really makes me feel that much younger! ) And it's officially birthday season at the SMB.

^Same show for me, minus the encore. That instrumental was actually from "Movement V" from Leitmotif. Not like I didn't have to look that one up. Two day cram session got me ready with the new record. Hearing some El Cielo tracks besides "Same Ol' Road" and "Triangle" was nice, even though I'd say those are the two best tracks on that one. It doesn't really matter anymore what songs they play because, for all intents and purposes, they don't have any singles to play. My Leitmotif song of choice actually would have been "Yatahaze", but considering I'd never seen them play anything off that album, no complaints here.

PopKaty Perry - E.T.: B-Black Eyed Peas - Just Can’t Get Enough: n/a (although I remember not disliking it anywhere near what I was anticipating. But, their career was supposed to be complete after that Super Bowl performance, and now this song sustains it, so, it's not cool and all good.)Britney Spears - Till the World Ends: n/a Adele - Rolling in the Deep: A- (I always figured this was more of a & a better country song on the Alternative chart than Seether's "Country Song", but then I wondered why I even thought of this as a country song to begin with. The reason turned out to be because you could tell me Adele is actually Jade from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and I wouldn't even dispute it. Not sure why this is having it so easy on pop though, and why she's such a hot ticket with one damn song.)Jennifer Lopez f/ Pitbull - On the Floor: n/a (Not a good combination for a duo whatsoever, but...I can't name a single person I know who still watches American Idol. I can't name a single contestant from this season. All I ever hear about regarding that show is how it's jumped the shark, and this is unanimously so. How the hell has Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler for that matter, both gotten huge second winds to their career from such an unpopular show.)Kesha - Blow: B-Bruno Mars - Lazy Song: C- (Bruno Mars, after a promising start, is essentially becoming a Caribbean Jason Mraz. And we don't need that.)Tinie Tempah f/ Eric Turner - Written in the Stars: n/a Rihanna - S&M: C (Eh. She's becoming nearly half as bad as Beyoncé with oversinging and trying to make melody out of lack of melody. It's getting kind of annoying.)Jeremih f/ 50 Cent - Down On Me: n/a The Script - For the First Time: n/a Jessie J f/ B.O.B. - Pricetag: n/a Pitbull f/ Ne-Yo - Give Me Everything: n/a Cee Lo Green - F**k You: A (I've finally heard enough of this, but it's okay, since it is falling down the chart with dignity, and it is the best #1 song CHR has had in quite some time.)Pink - F**kin’ Perfect: C (It's bland. I'd say you aren't supposed to take such a highly visible song title and tack it onto such an uninteresting song, but it was one of the most highly played weekly hits of all time for some reason, so what the hell do I know. .)Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On: B+New Boyz f/ Cataracs - Back Seat: nfe (I think it sucked, though.)Lady Gaga - Judas: nfe (Seemed alright though, yet worse than all the singles of the first go-round besides "Telephone".)Selena Gomez & The Scene - Who Says: n/a (Top 20? WTF.)Lady Gaga - Born this Way: D- (Tremendous step down in both production and ambition. If there's ever going to be a song to deliver the death blow to pop music for me, it's this one, and it's coming from an artist whose songs I've always at least kind of liked. This is why I can never fully get behind any pop act, because I will end up let down somehow.)Wiz Khalfia - Roll Up: n/a Mike Posner f/ Lil’ Wayne - Bow Chicka Wow Wow: n/a Hot Chelle Rae - Tonight Tonight: n/a (Really though? I thought HCR sounded laughably dated three years ago when "Bleed" scraped the chart, and now they're back with an even bigger hit?)Dr. Dre f/ Eminem & Skylar Grey - I Need a Doctor: C (What the hell was this.)OneRepublic - Good Life: n/a Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Hello: n/a (Who???)LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem: n/a (It doesn't seem right that LMFAO have gone on to have more hits following "I'm In Miami Bitch".)Avril Lavigne - What the Hell: n/a Taylor Swift - The Story of Us: n/a (Talk about an artist going absolutely nowhere with her music, though. Do I need to have heard the song to say "hmmm" to the fact that she's already had an "Our Song"? Her career is becoming a joke, quickly.)Big Time Rush - Boyfriend: n/a (80% certain that I've heard this and it sucks.) Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory: n/a My Chemical Romance - Sing: A- (This song and "Closer to the Edge" flashing back to 2004 when Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, "The Kill", and "Miss Murder all with unlikely crossover hits. Well those might not have all been 2004. Good times though. .)Chris Brown - Look At Me Now: n/a ("Look at me now? Has anyone's opinion of this kid changed at all? .) Nicki Minaj f/ Drake - Moment 4 Life: B- (Can't remember if I've said anything about this here though, but what the hell is Hot Topic's doing selling Nicki Minaj t-shirts. And Wiz Khalifa, and Waka Flocka Flame, and somebody else I can't think of right now because it was three months ago. God, to think I used to stand up for them.) Shontelle - Say Hello to Goodbye: n/a Jason Derulo - Don’t Wanna Go Home: n/a Beyonce - Run the World: n/a Nicki Minaj - Super Bass: n/a Kanye West - All of the Lights: n/a Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me: C+ Maroon 5 - Never Gonna Leave this Bed: n/a 30 Seconds to Mars - Closer to the Edge: A Enrique Iglesias f/ Usher - Dirty Dancer: n/a The Ready Set - Young Forever: D David Guetta, Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj - Where Them Girls At: n/a Neon Trees - Your Surrender: n/a Far East Movement f/ Snoop Dogg - If I Was You (OMG): n/a The Band Perry - If I Die Young: n/a Rihanna - California King Bed: n/a T-Pain f/ Chris Brown - Best Love Song: n/a
Alternative Foo Fighters - Rope: B+ (The amount of #2 hits and #11 hits this song is directly responsible for is kind of irritating.) Rise Against - Help is On the Way: C (I mean, a pretentious song about Katrina would have been great three years ago, when it was actually happening, and "Savior" was only in its second year on the chart.) Black Keys - Howlin’ for You: A- (The keyboard effects near the end of the song are what won it over for me.) Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks: B+ (Imagine if we were to have another Columbine type incident during this song's chart run, though.) Mumford & Sons - The Cave: A Incubus - Adolescents: B+ (The song kind of reeks of A Crow Left of the Murder-style overmellowness and overwrittenness. It just feels like that's who Incubus is now.) Death Cab For Cutie - You are a Tourist: B+ (I like that this is totally riff-driven and is probably the simplest single release they've ever had. Their wordy, story-telling songs of the past gave their songs a shelf life far shorter than their chart life but I can see myself digging this for much longer.) Airborne Toxic Event - Changing: A- Beastie Boys - Make Some Noise: A (I've never liked a Beastie track as instantly as this one.) Cage the Elephant - Shake Me Down: B+ Young the Giant - My Body: A- (Dig the song and all, but I still want to know what the hell a 'young the giant' is.) Awolnation - Sail: A (I still love this record, probably more now than ever before, and it's 90% due to its ambience.) Seether - Country Song: B (The song makes me laugh, unintentionally. They were talking about this on Out of Order about how they were making some over-the-top novelty video, and what a surprise that was. I always thought of the song, and the band, as a novelty act anyway.) Naked & Famous - Young Blood: A Linkin Park - Waiting for the End: B (FINALLY this song is the f*** off the charts!) Sick Puppies - Riptide: D (Laughably bad and predictable.) Sublime with Rome - Panic: n/a Redlight King - Old Man: B- My Chemical Romance - Bulletproof Heart: B+ (Nice for this one to finally crack the top 20 after looking dead in the water.) Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi f/ Jack White - Two Against One: B Three Days Grace - Lost in You: n/a Linkin Park - Iridescent: nfe (Why is this struggling so badly though.) Joy Formidable - Whirring: nfe (Was added just a couple days before my station turned for the worse; I only heard it once.) Papa Roach - Burn: n/a Neon Trees - Your Surrender: nfe Panic at the Disco - The Ballad of Mona Lisa: nfe (It wasn't bad, but I don't remember anything about it at this point. Top 20 would have been cool, but all hope is lost now.) Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness: B (The magnitude by which the song 'grabbed me' was minute compared to their previous lead singles. Was still hoping for top 10 but The Foo Fighters got in the way.) Cake - Long Time: nfe (Higher up the charts, but probably isn't realistically getting anymore play than "Love You Madly", or whatever they followed up "No Phone" with.) Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know: B+ (Heard on Alt Nation yesterday and enjoyed.) Avenged Sevenfold - So Far Away: A- (Was also added to my station right before it bit the dust. Surprisingly so, since they skipped "Welcome to the Family", and this isn't exactly becoming a chart world-beater.) Biffy Clyro - Many of Horror: B (Very slowly starting to come around, but I still struggle to find much memorable about this.) Lykke Li - Get Some: B (Only one listen, but I didn't really find her vocals too appealing, on low quality, low volume audio.) Cage the Elephant - Around My Head: nfe (I'd just been expecting "Aberdeen" to be the new single, since it's what my station had decided to add, and I like that one pretty well.) Bayside - Sick Sick Sick: n/a Hollywood Undead - Hear Me Now: nfe Disturbed - Warrior: n/a TV On the Radio - Will Do: B- (I've only heard this on Alt Nation, but it shares a lot of the same qualities with the random indie tracks Alt Nation likes to play that all kind of bleed together into one. I don't understand them yet.) Manchester Orchestra - April Fool: B+ (I wish I could be hearing more of this.) Sum 41 - Screaming Bloody Murder: nfe (Curious about this one; was an Out of Order extra several months ago, and of course 89x is playing it, but traversing the jungle that is their current playlist sounds daunting just to hear this song.) Sixx A.M. - Lies of the Beautiful People: n/a Radiohead - Lotus Flower: C (I can't believe how underwhelming this song is. No reason for a lead Radiohead single in 2011 could fall short of the top ten, and drastically so, without sounding as forgettable as this was.) Korn f/ Skrillex - Get Up: n/a Funeral Party - Finale: nfe (another one I heard for the first time yesterday and thought favorably of it.) Skillet - Awake and Alive: n/a Company of Thieves - Death of Communication: n/a My Morning Jacket - Holdin On to Black Metal: n/a Middle Class Rut - Busy Bein’ Born: n/a Adelitas Way - Sick: n/a She Wants Revenge - Must Be the One: n/a
AC Bruno Mars - Just the Way You Are: B+ (When playing this song though, I was asked by someone at work if it was Justin Bieber. .) Katy Perry - Firework: C- (No, I don't think anyone in their right mind has ever felt like a plastic bag, Katy. The video was pretty recockulous, too. She tries to be all positive, but constantly having attention drawn to a rack like hers by means of animated fireworks emerging from them doesn't exactly scream 'inspirational' to me.)Daughtry - September: nfe Train - Marry Me: n/a (I'm done with Train, again, just because of the song titles and being familiar with their purpose.)Taylor Swift - Mine: COneRepublic - Secrets: BMichael Buble - Hold On: n/a Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts: n/a (But impossible to be open-minded in judging this song, given all the individual negative aspects that have been submitted.)Pink - Raise Your Glass: nfe Bon Jovi - What Do You Got: n/a Bruno Mars - Grenade: C+ (Kind of silly, but sounds ok.)Taylor Swift - Back to December: C (Seriously, quit exploiting country music with all this sappy pre-pubescent high school dance s***. This is not what that type of music was intended to be, much less like all ten of the singles she's had released. )Rihanna - Only Girl (In the World): n/a Matthew Morrison - Summer Rain: n/a Bob Seger - Downtown Train: n/a Richard Marx - When You Loved Me: n/a Kenny Chesney - Somewhere with You: n/a Stevie Nicks - Secret Love: n/a Dave Barnes - God Gave Me You: n/a Doobie Brothers - Far From Home: n/a Tim McGraw - Felt Good On My Lips: n/a Josh Groban - Higher Window: n/a Colbie Caillat - I Do: n/a (Sure I've heard it, though.)Hot AC Andy Grammar - Keep Your Head Up: n/a Lifehouse - Falling In: n/a Sara Bareilles - Uncharted: n/a Parachute - Something to Believe: n/a Train - Save Me San Francisco: n/a (Here we go with one of those song titles again...)Grace Potter & the Nocturnals - Paris (Ooh La La): n/a Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson - Don’t You Wanna Stay: n/a He Is We - Happily Ever After: n/a (What the f*** is 'He Is We', though?)Enrique Iglesias f/ Ludacris - Tonight (I’m F**king You): FStone Sour - Hesitate: B+Michael Franti & Spearhead - I’ll Be Waiting: n/a (I'm dying to find out what this sounds like, though!)3 Doors Down - Where You’re Young: BUsher - More: n/a Andrew Allen - Love You Tonight: n/a Christina Perri - Arms: n/a Duran Duran - All You Need is Now: n/a Triple A Amos Lee - Windows Are Rolled Down: n/a Jack Johnson - From the Clouds: n/a Matt Nathanson - Faster: n/a Scars On 45 - Gave Me Something: n/a Fitz & The Tantrums - MoneyGrabber: A (My station was playing this song well into its recurrent life on Alternative, and I cherished every one of them, thinking I'd never know which would the last time I ever get to hear this on the radio. Of course it took a f***ing format change for it all to finally end.)Paul Simon - The Afterlife: n/a Decemberists - Down by the Water: n/a Cars - Sad Song: n/a Adele - Rumour Has It: n/a Eddie Vedder - Longing to Belong: n/a Head and the Heart - Lost In My Mind: n/a Decemberists - This is Why We Fight: B+ (This sure disappeared off the Alternative chart too quickly. Barely even got to hear it.)Arcade Fire - Modern Man: n/a Iron and Wine - Tree by the River: n/a Ray Lamontagne & Pariah Dogs - Repo Man: n/a David Gray - Only the Wine: n/a Augustana - Steal Your Heart: n/a Bob Schneider - Let the Light In: n/a Portugal. The Man - People Say: B (Although, I do completely agree with Davey's point about the perplexing political messages in this song that would have been better suited for 5+ years ago. Doesn't bother me as much as the Rise Against song, though.)Brett Dennen - Sydney, I’ll Come Running: n/a Mat Kearney - Hey Mama: n/a Florence + The Machine - You’ve Got the Love: nfe (was easily the least memorable of her three US singles upon instant impression, but...this couldn't even hit the Alternative chart at all? What is with that?)

^Even though I've grown to live with McDonalds' form of advertising, some of which had driven me up the wall in the past, I've seen that commercial more than a few times now and that is one hilariously spot-on write-up. .

Saw Avenged Sevenfold a week ago. Glad I never got around to watching more than one clip of the show Steve saw, because it was the same except for a couple songs. In fact, it was still very similar to the one I saw last summer, looking back. Yeah, I actually was wondering if you ever were gonna get back to that. Then when I saw you were attending a show of your own, it all made sense. I assume you never looked at the setlist until after your show. I'm seeing Dredg again a week from Sunday, first time in a headlining role in quite some time. Guess it's about time for me to get off my ass and onto that new record of theirs.
