Mute Math's debut single, and the one that got me hooked on them. They're easily one of the most original sounding bands I've heard in a long time as they manage to mix so many different musical styles together, often within the same song. "Control", which spent 14 weeks at #1 on my chart, continues to be my favorite from them.

And I'm not sure if I've ever even heard a Mute Math song yet.

"Control", which spent 14 weeks at #1 on my chart, continues to be my favorite from them. I've mentioned this a few times before, but I first heard this on the Internet broadcast of JCMF3's Christian rock radio show at Colorado State University. While this "only" peaked at #3 on my weekly chart in 2005, its 17 plays is enough to make it tied for #3 among all songs on my last.fm "Most Played Songs" list (which keeps track of all plays I log on my computer since April 18, 2005. This was actually a couple of weeks after "Control" peaked on my chart, so theoretically it could be even higher.) And I'm not sure if I've ever even heard a Mute Math song yet. Oddly enough, you would have if you watched "American Idol" on Tuesday night. [It wasn't anyone from Mute Math singing it, of course.]

"Chaos" was actually charting in Canadian rock a couple weeks ago. No idea how new that one is though.

Only because this topic was brought up did I decide to grab the Mute Math track ("Typical") available for download on Fuse's site. I'm listening to it right now because there were new replies in this topic today.

Mediabase says a lot of things that aren't entirely true, although "Chaos" was first available on Mute Math's MySpace in late 2005 if I remember corrently.

Chris Sligh sang "Typical". Mute Math wasn't mentioned by name at all.

Mute Math is awesome. Seriously, they are, though I am still trying to experience the awesome.

One of my friends keeps trying to get me to listen to them. How long have they been around?

One of my friends keeps trying to get me to listen to them. How long have they been around? Their debut single "Control" was sent to the Christian formats sometime in the middle of 2004. And you should do what your friend says.

And you should do what your friend says. I want to, but I keep putting it off. If anyone has some songs than can ftp, that'd work best.
