She concluded the American Music Awards last night with a performance of the track. It's an empowering song dedicated to women of all ages and the finding of their inner strength. Eventhough I'm not a woman and can't appreciate it as much. LOL. It is a delightful song nevertheless. Alicia sings it beautifully. The chorus trips me out: I still put on a vest With an S on my chest Oh yes I'm a Superwoman LOL Clever reference of a fictional character from the comics. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK8t0gP4isE&feature=related

LOL Clever reference of a fictional character from the comics. Well, OK, but that was also 50 Cent's famous first line on Get Rich or Die Tryin' in "What Up Gangsta": "They say I walk around like I got a 'S' on my chest." (Only he was talking about Super man, obviously.) And many a rapper have referenced that line in the years since, though I won't be able to cite any specifics. Not saying that Alicia copied 50 or anything, just that he famously said that over 5 years ago.

Not a big fan of the song. I did catch her performance at the AMAs and she sounded great. I've been pretty disappointed with the direction of As I Am and this was pretty much her first straight-up pop ballad single, so it's not surprising that it flopped.
