Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't posted on this site lately. I'll try not to be a stranger.
Anyway, here's the situation. Back in early March, I began going out with a girl named Julie. We've had our ups and downs, like most relationships do, but I feel that we are on the verge of breaking up, and it's because of my doing.
You see, her best friend spent the weekend with her, so she was with us Saturday. We were all having an awesome time, cracking jokes, laughing, and the whole bit. Well, when we got back to Julie's house, she and I gave each other a foot massage. Then, she proceeded to do the same for her friend. Well, I was sitting there, doing nothing, and sort of feeling left out, so while Julie was working on one foot, I decided to be nice and work on the other. Julie objected at first, but then eventually relented when her friend said it was OK. I thought that she didn't want me to do it because her friend would feel uncomfortable. So after we were done, we let her friend rest, since she was tired out from the activity of the day. Before I left, Julie asked to talk to me alone and asked me why I did what I did. I told her the truth - that I was feeling left out, so I decided to help out. Julie didn't seem as upset as she sometimes gets, so I wasn't too concerned.
Well, I go over to her house yesterday and she said she was feeling worse and that she wanted me to leave. She said she'd talk to me later. So I called her up later that afternoon and she said that it really hurt her to see me rubbing someone else's feet, since that was our "intimate thing". I never saw it as a really "intimate thing", as we have our own intimate moments. She said that her friend also said that it felt awkward to have me rubbing her feet, and that she had vibes that I was "enjoying myself". The question is, then why didn't she tell me to stop? I forget what else Julie said, but she said she needed to think about it. I fear that our relationship might be at an end, since she's never been as cold towards me as she was during our phone conversation.
Anyway, what do you think I should do? I know that, right now, I really have no choice but to wait it out, but if she tells me that it's over, I'm not sure how I can take such pain - pain that, I'm sure, would be worse than what Julie felt by seeing me give her best friend a foot massage. Any words of encouragement are indeed welcome (and people with nothing but derogatory comments about me and my girlfriend need not reply).
Thanks in advance.
