myspace.com/switchfootA somewhat different sound for them. I can see people who aren't that crazy about this group's other songs possibly liking this one a bit more. That being said, I'm not expecting this to revive their already dying career on the mainstream formats, but it should give 'em another hit on the Christian charts.

Hmm...it's going to take a lot more than one listen for me to decide if I actually like this or not. It's definitely more reckless than anything I've ever heard from them in the past. Yet, it still comes off as a "calculated" reckless to me.
As Ethan stated, I don't foresee this saving their career on any mainstream chart formats.

I don't think Switchfoot cares if they have mainstream success or not. Much like Default.

And in the long run, I ended up liking this noticeably less than most of their other singles. It still hit my top 30, but that's not great at all for a band with multiple top 5s in their catalogue.

^Same here. This song has nothing on their previous singles like Dare You To Move, Meant To Live, or even Stars. It was just OK for me. It might hang around my chart a little longer if I still hear it on the Christian CHR I listen to, but other than that, I'm ready for single #2.

I'll probably follow Switchfoot no matter what they put out. They were instrumental in changing my life with Beautiful Letdown. I won't ever forget that. Having said that, I need to go get their new one.

But, hey, that's just me. I don't really know you.

But, hey, that's just me. I don't really know you. I know, but only so much time and so much money, after all. Plus, it opened the flood gates for me in listening to the David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Skillet, and Casting Crowns among others, so it's even harder to focus. It seemed like Switchfoot put out a bunch in a row too, so this one snuck up on me.

I have nothing to add. This is the obligatory post of the year in the Christian forum.
