I think this is a pretty iconic song and it still surprises me that this spent on 7 weeks at #1 on CHR/POP.
I went to watch the video again on youtube and the song was so refreshing...I'm not tired of it, but I'm sure I'd be annoyed to hear it 90 times a week on the radio.
I have the video DVD single or whatever it was. A classic for sure.

Would have been 9 weeks at #1 if not for the holiday break. Big Boi: "3000, for the sake of everybody in the band, ack like you got some sen'." Dookie: "Ain't gon' do nuthin' but get up there and shake his ass..." Big Boi [to 3000]: "Were we talkin' to him? Don't get out there playin' an s***, okay? 3000: "That's what I do every night. That's all I know how to do, man. You know..." Big Boi: "I ain't flew all the way overseas, in a middle seat, for us to get over here and f*** up. Ack like you got some sen'. You might get a little bit a'this here. Not ho money. This is hope money. I hope you get out there an' do ya thang. [Tosses 3000 the wad.] You think you can fold that? 3000? I'm tellin' ya: Don't mess it up for everybody. Greyhound don't float on water." All the bright green in the video was super-sharp.

One of the few CHR/Pop #1s that never suffered any real burnout with me.

I've always hated this song. God, the chorus is annoying.

Never burned out for me because I just don't listen to most popular music enough to reach the point where I could be burned out. Only the crossover hits do that. Although, this was a crossover hit. Hard to believe it actually hit Alternative first, and did exceptionally well, for what it was.

Didn't this finish at #100 for the year on alternative two years in a row? That was interesting.

I was going to confirm/correct this, but it turns out I never got 2004's year-end Alternative chart, which is interesting, because I was in the hospital at the end of 2003/beginning of '04, without proper internet access for weeks and weeks, and yet, 2003's is the one I have.

I love it, but I was burned out for a little while. I remember there being a point where I could hardly hear the radio without this song coming on. I haven't really heard it on the radio since it's become recurrent/gold though, so it's completely fresh with me again.

Hard to believe it actually hit Alternative first, and did exceptionally well, for what it was. First time I heard it was on San Diego's 91X. Given that OutKast has had some play on alternative, it wouldn't have surprised me to have heard it there. I thought the rhythmic-leaning CHR would've played it first. The song itself is great, with some classic lines, like "Lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor".
