This is kind of like Jon's cult classic track. In spite only peaking at #27 on Alternative, its use on The Beach and the TV series Angel helped immortalize this song. Usually when someone tells me about VAST, they generally talk about how they have "Touched" downloaded or something.
The prominent sample is moving, especially because the music accompanying varies from its general acoustic track to noisy distortion. I don't think it's my favorite on the album (I lean more towards "Here," "Dirty Hole" & "The Niles' Edge,") but this is definitely a good start for the newbies, even if mine wasn't (that would be "Free").

I love "Touched." As of April, it's my 97th favorite song of all-time. (And the first album is top drawer in my opinion.)
I'm not sure if I've told this story before but the first of two times I've gone to a strip club (this was back in 2001), one of the girls danced to this. (And someone danced to Staind's "Fade," before it was a single, and it may have been the first girl's same set, but someone also danced to "The Warmth" by Incubus. My perverted mind was just mesmerized that night.)
