Somehow I missed this song when it was current. It spent 3 weeks at #2 in 1996 and 25 weeks on the chart. Now I found this song because Chris Richardson sang it on American Idol. Since I was unfamiliar with it, I can fairly (lol) compare the two and I easily prefer Chris Richardson's version. While I like Eric Clapton's, it's a lot more mellow and light, while Chris takes it and makes it very upbeat and fun. I definitely prefer Chris Richardson's voice on the song too. Props to Eric Clapton though on a great song with incredible lyrics. People on the Chris Richardson board have voted this their favorite American Idol performance from Chris. Three incredible performances of this: Access HollywoodLive with Regis and Kelly (+ "Remix") Original American Idol performance (Opened the show with his standing ovation) Randy: "You in it to win it." Paula: "It was really well done, I'm really proud of you." Simon: "It was a good vocal...I think you did really well." Ooops, was this the Chris Richardson post or Eric Clapton?

I liked the Clapton/Babyface version so much that I bought the CD single at the time. I can't remember if it made my Top 40 or not. It probably did.

LOVE this song. Never grew tired of it and still listen to it today (occasionally).

Not too crazy about it, but I don't mind listening to it.
