A great single from a few years ago. I remember when this album came out, I really loved it to death. Before I heard the White Stripes and before I got into the Violent Femmes (and generally tends to be more melodic than those two), this is what I'd listen to for my "down-to-earth" instrumentation in my music. This one's my favorite, and other than the singles, "Sense" is probably my favorite. What still stands out to me after listening to him recently is that some of the tracks are very percussion-based.
Funny story: Once I tried getting musicforthemorningafter since I saw it used, and wanted to hear it again. However, I noticed when I got it that inside of the jewel case was Day I Forgot, his follow-up, which I honestly didn't have plans to buy (possibly because I was mildly disappointed in "Come Back Home"). I also looked at the number written on the sticker on top of the CD to see if they matched & they did (but on the good side, I found a site that let me stream the album). I've heard a couple of tracks from his new album. There's this one I really like on there called "Vampyres."

I remember "For Nancy." The one memory I'll always have of it is while dating this one girl I knew from high school, only at separate colleges, like 3 hours apart. Ultimately it didn't work out, but that fall was one of the fondest memories of my life before eventually meeting my current girlfriend almost 2 years later.
Anyway, the only time(s) I remember seeing the "For Nancy" video was when I ate meals on a few occasions in her campus cafeteria while visiting for a weekend, or fall break, or whatever, and it was on TV. There were several videos I only remember seeing in that cafeteria, like Dave Navarro's "Hungry," was another one. Anyway, it's not a very good story for anyone else, but I'll forever associate "For Nancy," (& "Hungry" for that matter) with those times with her. Some of our other high school classmates went to that school as well, so it's not like it was always the two of us eating there. In fact, most of the time, it wasn't.

This is the only one of his alternative-charters that I can't remember the sound of right now, but I really like everything I've heard from him.
