So I recently was able to burn off their three singles I remember from the early '90's, which I hadn't heard in well over ten years: "Another Minute" and "You Think You Know Her" from 1992, and "It's Over Now (It's Alright)" from 1994.
And I couldn't believe upon hearing them again just how much the group reminds me of Depeche Mode. It was eerie the resemblance was so strong. They were like a baby Depeche Mode. I like those 3 songs even more now than I did when they were out.
Anyone else familiar with Cause & Effect?

I have their Trip album on cassette tape. I had a truly kickass mix tape of songs recorded from the radio, including "It's Over Now" on Rick Dees' countdown at #35. I went with my family to a fireworks show on the 4th of July in either '94 or '95 and brought this tape to listen to on a walkman for the ride. While we were away, somebody broke into the vehicle and stole the walkman with the tape in it. How pathetic is it to break into somebody's van just to steal a 12 dollar cassette player from some 13 year old kid. That seriously is all that came up missing. We saw on the news a few months later that a man known for his theft of electronic equipment in the downtown area where we were had jumped into a river and drowned while escaping police, and we figured it was him, so he probably got more than what he deserved. But I loved "It's Over Now" so much that I figured I'd have to buy the album to ever hear it again.
Did I have any idea what Depeche Mode was about back then? Nope. I liked it anyway. Of course upon downloading the song to my computer a few years back, DM was the first band springing to mind.
While I was typing this out I wondered what these guys were up to. They actually released an EP in 2003 called The Sunrise, classified as an electronic/dance album. And I hadn't realized that they actually had a hit single prior to "It's Over Now", or that their co-founder Sean Rowley died of heart failure before I even knew about them.

Wow, that was an amazing story.
Apparently they had a third single from the first record that missed the Pop chart by a long shot. I should go back and get that one, too. ("Another Minute" missed too, but I heard it on the radio at least back then. I'm sure they had a subsequent single from Trip that I'm unaware of as well.) I didn't realize that their co-founder had died at the end of 1992, after I already knew who they were. (There are only 2 guys on the cover of the first album, though.)
