I really love this one. But what an awkward single choice; it isn't very radio friendly at all. Surprisingly dark and heavy after the comparatively subdued Tiny Music album. It's still interesting to listen to.
For me the highpoint of that album was "Atlanta" though.

"Down" is the hardest-rocking thing they'd done since Core. I think it's swell.
James Hart from Eighteen Visions notably rips off a big chunk of the pre-chorus melody in their song "Crushed."

It's not bad, but if I were to rank all of their singles this would be near the bottom of the list. The followup, "Sour Girl", is probably one of my all-time favorites by them though.

I've listened to hardly any Stone Temple Pilots (mostly because the first two I heard were Days of the Week and Hollywood B**tch, and I didn't like them at all). I just heard this one. The first time it was just ok, now I love it. But yeah, Sour Girl is a lot better.
