Hit the alternative charts like a year after it was released (& when it hit was when I first heard it), and then again another year later for one week before it was wrongfully yanked into recurrentville. This should have been SubPop's first smash hit, not "Soul Meets Body." I love it.

Technically, Soul Meets Body is a hit for Atlantic.
Still, Such Great Heights is just another example of one of the greatest songs to not have success on alternative.

Technically, Soul Meets Body is a hit for Atlantic. Eh, you're right. I would have said "their" too except it's just that one dude who's the same.

For a song that was as much as a slow-burner as this one, it was clear that the next Ben Gibbard-related thing was destined to do well if wasn't released too soon of another Postal Service album. "Bandages" was a decent-sized Sub Pop hit, although that did not make the Top 20

I love this as well, but I was extremely late on it. It didn't enter my chart until the end of summer '04, and took over 4 months to hit #1. It will likely finish in my top 10 of 2005.

Amazing that this song is now being used to hawk everything from Kaiser Permanente health insurance to M&M's. Well, the Iron and Wine cover of this song in the latter case.

The first time I heard this was when I personally sought out its video in fall '04.
The second, third, and fourth times were after I burned the album from a friend in May. The first time I listened to the album I fell asleep. Not because the record was necessarily boring or anything, I was just tired. The next two times I put it in, I didn't make it past the first few songs because I just wasn't in the mood for it anymore.
I've never heard this on the radio.
Forgive me if I can't regard The Postal Service as nostalgia yet.

The song was just OK for me.

I liked it, but I'll probably be one of the last to call it "amazing". Although it was good enough to at least get me curious as to what other songs sound like.
It sure was fun rooting for this song during its comeback. It finally made it back into the top 50, only to have Mediabase be like "Uh-uuh". But then R and R was like "Nuh-uuhh" right back at Mediabase and it officially got its week in.

LOL... I just noticed this is still getting well over 100 spins, and if it were still current it would be #66.

Well, Seattle considers them local, and continues to play them.
Such Great Heights was one of KROQ's biggest songs of the last few years, they're not going to give it up.
I can easily see between 40-60 spins between the two in high rotation.

Oh man, is there a company that hasn't used this song in commericals yet? Although, I guess it's about time a company dedicated to the mail is using it.
