So I got the whole summer job deal going on at Eckerds...now a part of Rite Aid! Uhh.
This new girl started about a week ago, she's 16. There are 3 managers, one of which really shouldn't be a manager and I wonder every day how she got the position. She's pregnant again, not married, about 23 years old, due in september, so now especially she's pretty whinny. Apparently her and her boyfriend have a hard time getting by...that's where I get put in a weird position.
The 16 year old smokes. She's very good looking, but annoying as hell...She talks my head off, but it was about 8:45 and I work in the photo lab, so I was about to leave at 9 and that 16-year old being the cashier would be there with the manager till 10. She came up to my photo lab register and put down some cigarettes and I laughed thinking she was just joking around...At the time I didn't know she smoked. After she said she was serious, since I knew already she was 16, I said "can I see your license then?" She said "are you serious?" I said "Yeah, you're not old enough." I didn't much give a s*** if she'd suddenly not like me because I wouldn't sell her cancer. She said, "I buy them here all the time," And I conveniently said "Not from me, you don't." Then the manager yelled over to me to "just give them to her." And i said, "No, you can, but I won't." I took the cigarettes over to her and went back to my photo lab duties...then of all f***ing things she rang them up on MY register. So it will show in the computer that the cigarettes were rang up on my register and my name will be on the receipt. Thing is, a storm a few days ago knocked out the security cameras, so they can't watch video evidence.
There an "anonymous" tip line, but really, how would the manager or smoker not know it was me that called since I was the only other one there...
The thing holding me back is that she's pregnant and has to support two kids and her slackass boyfriend...I'm just concerned for the poor babies.
So, should I or shouldn't I?
