I haven't posted a chart in 5 weeks... yikes. Lots of columns this week. Highlights include: - 6 new entries from Mute Math this week (3 debuts and 3 re-entries);
- Evanescence getting their 4th #1 hit followed by Snow Patrol's 2nd straight;
- Last week's two debuts inside the top 50 (Weird Al and Tenacious D);
- Lostprophets' 4th top-20 hit from Liberation Transmission (which might actually become the album's biggest);
- A track from Switchfoot's new album debuting the same week that the final two charters from their old album fall off;
- Potentially the first R&B/hip-hop song to make the top 20 in a while with "Money Maker";
- Tool's "The Pot" finally re-entering, and in a big way thanks to TK101's airplay;
- and this week's highest debut, Evanescence's "Lithium". It probably should have entered a week or two ago, but I was far enough behind on the chart (over a week) that it had slipped my mind.

I know the recent chart hasn't been posted, but... 46 -- 01 Jojo - Too Little Too Late (46) ... I find that incredibly shocking. And these, the songs I've been trying to hear but haven't yet. Who knows, I might buy the Mars Volta for Christmas, but I want to get De-Loused first, since I know songs from that one.

Yeah, that JoJo was a little shocking. As was the Christina Aguilera. Do you not find her to be nearly as offensive to all five senses as she was a few years ago, either?
That's really the reason I finally changed my Pulse signature after so long. (That and the bridge from "House of Wolves" was just totally rocking my ass at that moment, even though I have no idea what that first line is supposed to mean.) Because Christina's not a self-righteous feminist skank (thereby completely misappropriating her own agenda) anymore, it just seemed irrelevant to keep up the indignance toward her. Especially since I've been completely ignoring any place her lambs post at Pulse for so long now, and they're the ones who completely ruined her music for me in the first place.

Yeah, I gave "Leave (Get Out)" an F, and still do, but since that's her only offense, and probably not her most well known hit anymore, I can let it slide without any hard feelings. "TLTL" is just fun, and catchy, and cute, which is everything I think a pop song should be. And a good relief from long stretches of modern hip-hop. Rowellfarm on Pulse has that song at #6, with Korn at #1, so at least on my chart it only reached #44. . I don't find Christina offensive to any senses anymore, and I actually find her attractive again nowadays (most of the time). Even through songs like "Can't Hold Us Down" and "Lady Marmalade"--two of the worst songs ever created--I thought it was clear that she had potential if she pulled it together somehow. Maybe it takes a lot of talent to be as bad as those songs were; I don't know. It just seems to me like she might be finally getting it right. Still far from being a 'fan'; I haven't even heard "Hurt" yet. But "ANOM" is a good song. And yes, her more likeable personality did contribute to even giving her music another shot.
