Nick's Notes:
The downside to exciting charts is that the chart for the next week is usually very tame, as is the case here. "Beast and the Harlot" keeps holding off "Vicarious," though I imagine Tool will take over eventually. "Miss Murder," too. "Dani California" nicely rebounds. "Tonightless" inches its way into the Top 10.
"Wings of a Butterfly" rebounds. "Betrayed" moves up solely due to VH1 premiering Pantera's Behind the Music last week, which included heartbreaking actual surveillance footage of Darrell's pandemonius murder. (None of the band was ever in range of the camera, however.)
I like the fact that "Talk" has shown strong longevity, as I usually happen to hear it at opportune times. Same goes for "Fall Into Sleep." I heard "Monsters" at least once this past week, so it re-enters. Obviously I haven't been fortunate enough to keep hearing "Cash Machine," as it's pretty much tumbled since peaking at #15 recently. "Rabbits Are Roadkill" slips off.
"A Little Less Sixteen Candles" is holding up well, surprisingly. "Dance, Dance" has sounded kinda fresh this past week, too. I saw the video for "I Write Sins" last night, otherwise I'm sure it would have tumbled.
I don't believe I'd enjoy the whole Fray album, but in the meantime "How to Save a Life" is rapidly growing on me. That will probably cool off before it becomes a big chart hit for me, however. "Cable Car" would've come in at #61 this week, by the way. "Welcome Home" is again on the outs. I've heard "The Only Difference" a couple of times lately, refreshing my memory of it. I'm sure "Gold Lion" has peaked, as has "Our Truth." I've not heard "The Adventure" much so far, but seeing the video on VH1 last night is enough to push it in at #60. Thanks for reading.
