Nick's Notes:
Seeing Avenged live again (and listening to the record before and after) helps "Beast and the Harlot" stave off "Vicarious" for at least another week, despite buying 10,000 Days last week. Unexpectedly, "The Kill" shoots back into the Top 5 and resets its peak at #3 after seeing its fantastic Shining-inspired video on Fuse, seeing them live on Kimmel and seeing the video again on Fuse during a rerun of the earlier program. I also heard it on the radio last weekend. After seeing AFI premiere "Miss Murder" on TRL Monday, I thought for sure it would eclipse "Vicarious" at #2, but I'm just not quite as familiar with it yet.
"Burn It Down" eclipses "Bat Country," which takes quite the apparent tumble. However, I can't remember when my Top 10 has been this competitive and this strong. I love it. Just about every song could be a #1 right now in slower weeks. "Dani California" is still going strong and "Trashed and Scattered," excellent hearing it live for the first time, blasts into the Top 10; quite a bit higher than its previous peak.
Eighteen Visions almost have a Top 10 debut. Almost. "Blinded in Chains" resets its peak, as does "Seize the Day," the likely next single which came off fantastic live. Zacky even sang the intro before the full band comes in. Though neither of these was played live, "Wicked" swaps dominance with "Strength" again this week. Basically, the new material played is #13 and higher. "Every Day Is Exactly the Same" is really healthy still. Shame it had to fall sharply. Shame to see such big falls for Bleeding Through, "Lonely Day," "Move Along," Madonna, and "Her Portrait in Black," but somebody's gotta make room for rebounding Avenged tunes.
After a couple of false starts, T.I. debuts huge because my girlfriend and I listened to the song twice on her copy of the album in my car last weekend. And her fondness for him is just so cute to me. "Fall Into Sleep" avoids the chopping black yet again this week because I heard it on the radio a couple days ago. And sorry to those droppers, but there just isn't any more room.
The boost to People in Planes' song is directly the result of seeing it live. "Welcome Home"-'s increase is due to their live show, however, my girlfriend dragged me out before I got to hear that song. (She can't get past Claudio's voice. And his hair doesn't help, either.) Anywho, that about wraps 'er all up for this week. Thanks for reading.
