I've been hearing of Lupe Fiasco in the background for a while. Many credible hiphop sources profoundly respects his work as a rapper and songwriter. Fiasco has been described as a talented lyricist. He teams up with fellow Chicagoan rock & folk singer Matthew Santos . The track is receiving significant attention at radio and he is gradually gaining popularity. The song is pretty great. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty0u1PzXfTo

"Superstar" seemed to not be doing much for awhile there, but now it seems to be catching wind. If payola is afoot, it's certainly good payola. I've only heard this a few times so far, despite owning the CD since release week. I don't find it as good as a lot of the songs off Food & Liquor (which was '06's best hip hop album, by the way), but it certainly has plenty of time to grow on me.

It's okay but I like a lot of songs on the album a lot more. I guess I agreed with a review that said that Santos ruined some of the songs. That being said it's still favorable with me and I'm glad to see Lupe have a song with success.
My favorite is definitely "Hello/Goodbye (Uncool)" from the album. I also like "Dumb It Down" quite a bit; I hope it's the follow up since it's listed on the sticker as such.

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't checked out his latest album yet, but I totally loved Food & Liquor.
I really like this song. This track is now the 4th greatest gainer on Rhythmic, I'm glad to hear he's getting more mainstream success and recognition.
