So I'm approaching 200 songs on my iTunes player, and because I'm horribly indecisive, I figured I'd let one of you guys recommend which song should be #200. Some guidelines first: 1) It should generally be from someone I've at least heard of. 2) It shouldn't be an artist I don't like. 3) It should preferably be a single. Other than that, it's pretty much carte blanche (unless, of course, I already own the song). Anything from the obscure to the well-known is good.

Hmm. Here's one:
Porno for Pyros "Pets" Perry & Stephen's '90's post-Jane's Addiction band. If a cruel person were to reduce them to one-hit wonders, this would be the one. It's a lush, reasonably mellow tune with three sets of vocals (verse/chorus, bridge/chorus, chorus) set against chiming guitars, broken up by two distorted, psychedelic guitar solos. It's got a driving, steady drum beat that's not any louder or softer than it needs to be. And just when the vocals end and you think it's over, the bass keeps it going and for 45 more seconds, it winds down with a pretty cascading guitar line accented by descending wind chimes and a sporadic reverbed clave hit.
As for the lyrics, it's a childlike what-if that could only come from a gentle, L.A.-based Generation-X acid casualty like Perry Farrell.

Only 200? I guess you're actually buying all these iTunes songs then...

I generally fancied this song above most Jane's Addiction songs, and I like the lyrical concept. Thanks for the pick! Only 200? I guess you're actually buying all these iTunes songs then... Actually, on the contrary. This would only make 22 songs I bought from the store, with only five of them literally being bought (i.e. purchased without redeeming a code for a free song - and two of them I bought because I had credits that expired before I could use them). The reason it's probably so low is because I usually don't rip whole albums, just the singles/songs I'm familiar with that I like. (Indeed, the only two full albums I have on there are because I was burning them for a friend.) I'll probably put a few more albums on there in time, but I still want my CDs to maintain some level of importance. Plus, I'm kinda lazy anyway when it comes to picking albums to rip.
