After weeks of hunting, I finally got my hands on one of these! I had to keep checking for new shipments every day at Wal-Mart and EBGames to see if I can cop one of these since nobody knows when the shipments come (which is good, because it also means no lineups), and I didn't want to pay f***ing scalpers.
I haven't gotten games yet other than the bundled Wii Sports, which is a lot of fun already. I got my brother hooked and even my parents, who *never* play *any* video games. It's amazingly fun and I downloaded the NES version of Super Mario Bros. on it already. I'm having a lot of trouble hunting for extra controllers though.
Anyone else got one or wamnt to get one?.

I gave up on video games after the Super Nintendo was phased out. I don't own any system, but I still play NES & SNES from time to time. (My dad and I are champions at NES Dr. Mario.)
My brother, who, so far, has eventually gotten every system that's come out (the Atari, Turbo Grafx & NeoGeo are the only ones I can think of that he doesn't own, besides the Wii & PS3), has gotten me to play a few Playstation and Dreamcast games over the years: Crazy Taxi, Bust a Move 4 is a lot of fun, Cool Boarders 2; and I've at least tried the Mario & Mario Kart for N64. I've tried the second Tony Hawk. Those are all that come to mind.
Even my girlfriend is a bigger gamer than I am: she has a PS2 and a PSP. Her favorites to play are the Sims series.

Nah, I'm still gonna hold out for the PS3's prices to come down, assuming they haven't been destroyed in freak meteor accident the public isn't aware of. That's kinda what I'm guessing, and Sony's just trying to get rid of the ones that weren't damaged. Seriously, a sign I read at the Fred Meyer the other day read "We now have 8 6 Playstation 3's!"
The Wii is tempting, though. I'd love to see what Madden is like on that one. I'll probably see where I stand next Christmas. And I don't even play video games that often anyway. I only own like three or four games for my PS2.

Yeah, I now would prefer to get a Wii over a $130 Ps2 simply for the archive of old games they have. I had no idea it even existed until Sunny mentioned it. Plus I'm happy that its release just totally annihilated Sony's ass, so I don't mind rewarding Nintendo with my money.
There was a Wii at the new year's party I attended; I took some video of some people playing and they look absolutely preposterous. That's when I realized I must own one sometime down the road.

Well, the lineup of classic games is just keeps getting better and better. I have now downloaded Super Mario World (SNES), Bomberman '93 (TurboGrafx) which includes battle mode for up to 5 players and Mario Kart 64 (N64).
I also got WarioWare: Smooth Moves, which has to be the most random A.D.D. game ever. Definitely great for parties (yes, I know, usually video games are lame for parties, but this is an exception!).

I've played this at a friend's house, and yeah, it's a lot of fun. This isn't a new concept though -- several months before the Wii came out, I remember going on a website with a bunch of 4-second games such as the ones on Smooth Moves.

Yeah, but Smooth Moves is also not the first game in the WarioWare series. Previous WarioWare games were were all similar but didn't utilize the Wiimote and have been released on Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and Gamecube before. So who knows which came first.
