33 weeks? Good god, please don't let "U + Ur Hand" break the WOC record. Luckily, it looks like it'll come up a few weeks short.
Songs that need to lose their bullets: "Buy U A Drank", "Beautiful Girls", "Party Like A Rockstar", "Rockstar", "Pop Lock And Drop It", and probably a couple others that I just haven't heard yet.

It really feels like that song has been around just as long as "Face Down" has been on Alternative. Even if it does end up breaking the record though, it'll be just like breaking the home run record in the steroid era of baseball. 'Cause this is the payola era of radio. Mildly impressive when you consider how long the record has stood, but you ultimately stand more impressed over the song that used to hold the record when you can make more of a case that it actually earned it.

Well, don't forget, the only reason it hasn't been broken yet is because of recurrent rules. Otherwise, "Everything You Want," "Hanging By a Moment," "Yeah!," "Scars," and "Since U Been Gone" would've all likely eclipsed the 52-week mark.
Ultimately I'd say the most impressive longevity mark is Edwin McCain's "I'll Be." If I'm not mistaken, that one was such a slow builder that it narrowly missed being removed via the 25/26 rule while it was still going up, then managed to zoom into the top 10 before being removed after 45 weeks.

I thought "I'll Be" did own the longevity record, although the song got a second wind just from being on one of those TV shows for shallow-minded people on the WB network. If not for that show, the song peaks at #25 or so, and we never hear it again. Whether Edwin McCain would still retain his status as a celebrity commentator for every single one of VH1's pop culture countdowns remains up for debate, but he and his music would probably disappear everyplace else. I can't remember if "Another Night" had to face recurrent rules, but I think that was most impressive that the song could be shoved down everyone's throat for 40+ weeks, yet they still went on to follow it up with two more pretty big hit singles. It isn't like they waited too long to make new releases either; I think at some point they had three songs in the top 40!
