OK, let me first say that, as far as I know, I did absolutely nothing to personally provoke this person into sending me this PM. And I don't know if he/she sent similar PMs to other people, but apparently this person disagreed with something I wrote, and, rather than try to spark a debate on the subject, decided to read more of my posts and just take me to task for not being anything like him/her. I'm still not sure whether or not to respond to them, mainly because I'm afraid I'll wind up with a post stalker on my hands. And considering this is a person who's been registered at Pulse for all of 5 days, it makes me all the more wary to want to get into it with them. Not to mention, the waste of time it'd feel like to exchange PMs with them. Here it is, in all it's dubious glory. The bolded words are the title of the message. I hope you

That's messed up. For as relatively little as you seem to post at Pulse (at least in the Alternative forum), I find it really surprising that some random newbie would come across anything you (of all people) have said and verbally abuse you for it. F**k that guy.
So I just clicked on his profile and read his one comment thus far. It'd be so f***ing easy to make fun of this guy. 39 years old? Are you kidding me? (I assume Jane must be his wife?) And his only contribution thus far is gushing about visiting London and how Kelly's on the radio every 5 minutes and he's been hearing radio spots for her upcoming HBO show, not to mention the "cool poster" of her he saw in a Virgin Megastore in Picadilly, which he's not even sure he spelled correctly.
I mean, why bother responding to the guy? Just pretend like you never got it. I'm sure he won't follow up on it and, should he stick around, will probably forget all about you. If he ever says anything else, via PM or a post none of us notice, let us know.

Yeah, when you put it like that, I realize you're right. Nevertheless, I did reply to them (I'm not even certain if it's a guy or girl, but who knows) earlier today. I took the high road and didn't try to make fun of him, but basically I chastised him for saying stuff when he didn't have squat to back it up. Based on that Kelly post, I think it may have had something to do with this recent post where I pretty much call Clarkson one of the worst artists out there. At least, it not the first time someone's tried to spank me for daring to question her talent. I wouldn't be surprised if he's forgotten his username at this point, but even if he does reply, it's like a kid who makes fun of you in school. Yeah, you probably shouldn't even acknowledge him, but if you do, the taunts grow so tedious so quickly that if you're level-headed enough, you can just let the aggressor make an ass of himself and you can just get on with life. And I realize that this has so little importance in the scheme of things that I know better than to let a little shrew get under my skin.

Based on what you've said, I wouldn't be surprised if the person who PMed you was a particular poster who started out as tidetoit, then later came back under several different aliases including 7thfairway and idaho. This person is a huge Kelly Clarkson fan, and is conservative politically (so he may not like The West Wing). He's in his forties, but changes the birthday on his profile each time he registers (so 39 might be his latest one). While I'm not 100% sure that's him, he seems like the type to get petty with PMs such as that.

Yeah, that message screams tidetoit/7thfairway/idaho/whateverthehellelsethischaracterhaspostedunder. Were any of the "HEE"s bolded? He's been known for putting words that he capitalizes in bold font.

How...odd. It just keeps getting weirder the more I read it.
Well, I haven't gotten any PMs saying "panix at teh disco r teh bset band eva" or "stfu limp bizkt rox", so I'm good.

"You have my profound condolences". F*** that. I'd also just act like I didn't get the message, but if he tried again, I'd just tell him I'd drop kick him in the face so hard he won't be able to suck a dick anymore.

What 40-something year-old man regularly posts on pop music message boards and picks fights with a kid roughly half his age for dissing Kelly Clarkson?
