I like "Fergalicious" by Fergie.
There, I said it. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna shoot myself in the face.
One of my last posts at Pulse -- before hearing this song -- was:

I hate "Fergalicious" by Fergie.
I don't know which I hate worse: this or "London Bridge."
And will.i.am is contributing to the dumbing down of American culture by not realizing he's misspelling "tasty." There's no E in there, you jackass! God, f*** everything Black Eyed Peas-related from 2003 on. Has there been anything good to come from anything any of them have been involved in? I'm having trouble thinking of one song or production.

I personally relate Fergie joining the Black Eyed Peas to Isiah Thomas joining the New York Knicks - a complete disaster from the beginning, which, in reaching new lows of their respective crafts, has been a head-shakingly comedic experience. Her branching into a solo project is essentially like Isiah coming down to become head coach.
And I've liked a few BEP songs in the Fergie era. Well, rather, I've had a few guilty pleasures in the Fergie era. There's "Shut Up" because I thought it bore some similiarities to their pre-Fergie stuff, "Let's Get It Started" because I heard it a million times and "Don't Lie" because... I still don't know why. Of course, that doesn't include "Gone Going," since Fergie wasn't involved in that.
As for this song, well, I can't think of a song with a more self-serving, obnoxious title. And that's the best part of the song! I want to find empirical evidence that "London Bridge" is better in some way, but I can't think of anything. Even the usage of Tower Bridge as London Bridge gives me SEHS.

These two paragraphs pretty much sum up my thoughts perfectly, except "Let's Get It Started" got annoying pretty fast. "Fergalicious" is #1 on my 'songs I can safely say suck without having heard them' list, but hopefully it'll be a long time before I hear the song and this is proven to be true (or not true ).

Fergie is a disgrace to the music scene. She's one of the main reasons why I think "My Humps" was the worst song ever. Her solo songs I've heard have been no better. I've only heard a small portion of it, but for now I'll appreciate the fact that I was able to at least forget it.

I was looking down the Mediabase pop page one day, seeing "London Bridge" up there, to which I stopped and thought "What's going to be #1 on my worst songs of the year list? Could it be anything else? I think not". I scrolled down some more and noticed a new Fergie song called "Fergalicious" and immediately realized that this could be just that 'anything else' I was pondering moments ago.
Just the realization that this song was created was the final straw in Fergie/BEP's recent placement on my "no more second chances" list, joining a very short list that includes only Jessica Simpson and Beyoncé/Destinies Child. I haven't heard the song yet. I don't need to hear the song yet. Pussycat Dolls would have made it too except that I like "Buttons" and they're finished anyway, so why bother. And I like "Ain't No Other Man" as well. So Matt isn't all alone in guilty pleasuresville.

Catching up on my news today (from vh1.com now. MTV.com can suck it. They redid their format to where you can't easily access news that's more than a week or two old, and there's so many goddamn bells and whistles on that page now that it's a pain in the ass just trying to navigate through any of it.
Anywho, I guess VH1.com does this artist feature from time to time where they take a band and have them identify six songs. Here's what "Matt" (Other than Justin, I have no idea who any of them are) from Blue October said, while "London Bridge" was playing:
Matt: The Black Eyed Peas though ... That's one of those groups that used to be like De La Soul or The Pharcyde. I really liked them back in the day. Now it's kind of like Scooby Doo when Scrappy came along. It wasn't cool anymore. I'm not going to say who Scrappy is. [Laughs.]

LOL. Yeah, I don't like "T-A-S-T-E-Y" either. You could argue that the extra letter was needed to fill out the line, but my counterargument would take the form of "Or they could have just said something like 'T, to the A, to the S-T-Y, oh girl, you['re] tasty'".
Another tenet of my position is as follows: We can all agree that the Black Eyed Peas were better without Fergie. Therefore, Fergie solo is worse than Fergie and the rest of BEP. Therefore, [generally] the more BEP (or Will.I.Am, whatever) in a Fergie song, the better. Will has a sizable minority of the lines, allowing me to think of it almost as a full-fledged BEP song. And they have had six top-50 hits on my personal chart, with half of them reaching the top 20.
And before anyone starts to think I've totally lost my mind: yes, "London Bridge" is horrible, and "My Humps" is still horrible. (Gwen Stefani's "Wind It Up" is quickly heading toward atrocious as well, but that's another topic.)
