It had everything going against it, but this actually ended up being one of the most pleasant, listenable Pop songs so far this year, once I finally heard it. I'm actually kind of bummed that neither of my Pop stations play it (that I can tell) and that it's not gonna end up being a real big hit. Surprisingly, her voice is a whole lot better than I was expecting it to be. (I'm not even sure I'd really heard her talk much; I've tried so hard to stay away from her life in the media thus far.) Her singing voice actually comes off better than Brooke Hogan, who, on paper, I would've been rooting for more, if I had to choose. Sadly, Brooke's song is generic hip- pop. The video for this reminded me of two, but I can only recall the main one so far: Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game." Hell, even Jessica Simpson's new song is pretty f***ing good, probably because it evokes vintage Madonna so much. What the hell is going on here??

I honestly thought this was Britney Spears when I first heard it (and saw it, for that matter). So, it has that going against it, for me anyway.
Interestingly, here's a four-video span from VH1 this past Saturday:
Five For Fighting - The Riddle Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind Five For Fighting - The Riddle
Of course, that's because the last two were videos 20 and 19 on their countdown this past week. You'd think someone would be on top of that when they're programming these videos, but I've given up asking those questions with VH1.

I don't watch much VH1 anymore, thank God, but Fuse still plays this too for some reason. Neither Brooke nor Paris deserves a recording contract.

As much as I want to hate this, I can't. I even thought it was Gwen Stefani for about 5 seconds. Hell, even Jessica Simpson's new song is pretty f***ing good, probably because it evokes vintage Madonna so much. I'd give the song about a C, which I suppose is good considering her last four singles were all F[/color]s.
