Like in the Alternative forum, here are some notes I want to share.
"Stickwitu" at #1? Where's the vomiting emoticon when I need it?
Unless Ne-Yo can get there first, it looks like "Check on It" will be the next #1. I think this and "Stickwitu" were like, 26 & 25 on my worst songs of '05 list, so I'm not sure which is worse.
I can't believe how "Dirty Little Secret" is plugging along after all this time. Hopefully "Move Along" will perform even better. It deserves a lot more than whatever this ends up getting.
God, I can't believe Rihanna got another Top 10. Good to see this lose its bullet already.
How the hell did Ne-Yo manage to go Top 10 in 4 weeks?? That's unreal. It's decent, but it's not that good, guys.
Can "Gold Digger" go recurrent already? (Actually, it still has two more weeks.) "The Camel Song," on the other hand...
I don't know how Natasha Bedingfield managed to outdo "These Words," but she did. I guess that's OK, since this song is better.
T-Pain and D4L: You've lost your bullets, now get the hell down the chart. (But "I'm N Luv Wit a Stripper" is hot on deck. )
"The Whistle Song" doesn't deserve this.
Why the hell did Ray J's single cross over all of a sudden? I don't mind it, but this song's considerably old.
Poor "Luxurious."
I can't wait for "Grillz" to peak and be gone. F**k the ignorant materialism in hip hop. (Not to single this song out, specifically, because it's better than lots of stuff, but still...)
Great, although I haven't heard it in full yet, I get to hear The Black Eyed Peas massacre "Misirlou" (the Pulp Fiction "theme") for the next 6 months. This group was boring backpack. Now the commercial crimes against mainstream hip hop just keep racking up.
Screw "Here We Go." (For those who may not know: the whole "Uh huh, okay, what's up, shut up!" or whatever it actually is, is lifted from her buddy Trick Daddy's "Shut Up" chorus.)
Can't wait to hear Kelly's new single. Hopefully it will inspire some urgency in me to get her album sooner.
I don't know why Relient K (Did they misspell "reliant," or are they going for something else with that?) are having pop hits, but whatever. No skin off my nose.
I don't mind "Stay Fly," but they don't deserve to get past the mid 30's with lyrics this vile.
I never really gave "We Be Burnin' " a good solid chance, but I have no regrets.
Oh look at that, R&R. "Feel Good Inc." is slipping.
Nice to see "Soul Survivor" dropping like a rock.
That new Eminem tune is trash and doesn't deserve to be the big hit it's going to be.
Yeah, I wish I could get to hear that Saving Jane song some more. Haven't heard it since mid-December, probably. Thanks.
I don't know how "Right Here" is still on the Pop chart.
I'd like to heard that BSB song some more, thanks.
I honestly can't wait to hear this Cascada tune. 2006's Iio, here we come. Crossing fingers for a DJ Sammy. Or maybe just Telepopmusik, depending on how far it actually goes.
Haven't heard "L.O.V.E." in full, and all I've heard so far has been from TRL. Same with Click Five's new one.
I thought if James Blunt ever hit the Pop chart, it wouldn't get past the 40's.
Drop Dem Franchize Boyz already.
Sad to see Madonna almost outta here. "Sorry" needs to be released in the next week or two.
"Blind" was superior to "You and Me," so it frosts my shorts that it's getting shafted already, when I've only heard it twice.
Sorry Santana, you lose on this album. Better luck next time. (I don't actually mind either song.)
Haven't heard Bo Bice's tune yet.
Time for a new Shakira single. I didn't like "Don't Bother," but I'm surprised it's almost completely off already.
I would've thought Weezer would've had a bigger second week, considering this is actually something new I have heard on a local pop station.
Oh great. A new PCD tune featuring a BEP. Can't wait.
Haven't heard Twista's song either, but I'm not expecting a favorable outcome.
And "Crash"! What the hell! Where did this come from?! Gwen said "Luxurious" was going to be the last "LAMB" single. She lied to me! Oh well. At least it's Gwen and not some s***ty hip hop song.
And hot damn! Mary J. Blige is gonna have a huge hit with this one.
