So...any guess as to why CHR/Pop brought this back from recurrent last week after weeks upon weeks of having been rightfully removed? Surely the label can't possibly argue that they're still promoting it all of a sudden, biding it's time until they can push "Dare"...?

I actually sent an email to the CHR editor about this the other day.
Hi,
I noticed that "Feel Good Inc." by the Gorillaz appears at #25 on this week's CHR/Pop chart. Wasn't this song moved to recurrent status back in November? Why is it on the current chart again? Thanks,
Eth
The song enjoyed a resurgence over the holidays, so Virgin Records decided to go back after it again at Pop radio. Therefore, we changed its status from recurrent back to current at the label's request.
hope that answers your question.

Personally, I think R&R is just using this as an excuse so they don't have to admit that an error was made. It makes no sense that the record company would see a +100 gain as a sign that the song is experiencing a major resurgence. Not to mention it started gaining again during the holiday break, when practically every recurrent sees a gain in spins.

Well, everything's been back to normal for over a week now, and it's hanging in with a +116. I didn't think it was the right move back then, but this might get back into the top 20 next week (the only songs I can see catching it are the ones from Cascada and maybe Gwen Stefani).

I can't believe this still has a bullet even after the 7 cumulus stations were removed from the panel (that's why a number of other songs experienced a noticeable decline in airplay). I still think there's no way this is going to pass the original peak of #13 though, so they might as well just give up and let the song die. Besides, it's time to start promoting "Dare", which I think has the potential do to even better than "Feel Good Inc.".
