First things first, the game between Miami and Kansas City, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been moved to Friday Night at 7PM Eastern, so for those of you in Pulses Pick 'Em league (one of you), or any other fantasy league, get your picks in within the next 10 minutes.
Hey, I woulda warned them too, but, y'know...

A year ago, when I lost by 1 game in the pickem league, I didn't make a pick in the Pittsburgh/Miami game during the week of Hurricane Jeanne. Because they were saying it'd be cancelled. Then all of the sudden they were playing again, but I was at work all morning and couldn't edit the pick.
And I can't really think of anyone (other than maybe chchspbi) that'd go with that Miami team over that Pittsburgh team. I sure wouldn't. The Steelers ended up winning 13-3.
Then again, I had like 90 other chances to win one other game (out of the games that I made picks for), and failed at all 90, so I can't really make that big of a deal about it.

Well, I finally scored my first double-digit score this week. I probably won't win for the week though with my homer pick for the Jets tonight. Of course, it doesn't help that they're getting the screwjob tonight, mostly by themselves but with a little help from the officials. I mean, how does an offensive line get so bad over the course of one offseason? Add Kevin Mawae's season-ending injury on top of it and that's why the Jets will be watching the Super Bowl yet again this year (not to mention the playoffs most likely).

Well good that the Pats came back last night and beat the Bills. Man, the AFC east just looks pathetic this year.

Well, this thread got buried rather unceremoniously.
A few things. First, did Jake Plummer buy Johnny Damon's beard and hairstyle? I mean, I know Damon can't have it anymore now that he's with the Yankees, but damn. I wonder if Plummer had to call Damon up to see if he could officially sport that look.
Second, LOL at Fox playing "This is How a Heart Breaks" during before a commerical during the halftime of the Seahawks game.
Third, if the Redskins can beat the Seahawks, I think they'll go to the Super Bowl. I felt after the Tampa Bay game that they definitely have a shot at beat the Seahawks, and might even be a Super Bowl contender. Well, they don't have to worry about Shaun Alexander anymore, which makes Seattle virtually a one-dimensional team, and although they're not like Eli Manning and the Giants on Sunday, I wouldn't place all of my faith on Matt Hasselbeck and his receivers.

Second, LOL at Fox playing "This is How a Heart Breaks" during before a commerical during the halftime of the Seahawks game. Yeah, right after the Nba playoffs of 2005 adopted it as their song, before it had even been released to radio. Come up with your own. Of course Fox tried to come up with their own slogan for last year's football season: "The best games are always in the NFC". Lol. I take that back, maybe they're better off letting the other networks come up with the ideas. Nothing against New England but I was tired of hearing how unbeatable they were when it's perfectly obvious that they're nowhere near the pedestal which NE teams of previous years rest upon. I guess that all's been put to an end.

Nothing against New England but I was tired of hearing how unbeatable they were when it's perfectly obvious that they're nowhere near the pedestal which NE teams of previous years rest upon. I guess that all's been put to an end. Well, actually I was referring to the irony that would've occurred had the Seahawks lost. Seattle teams seem to have a history of building fans' hopes up only to come back with heartbreakers. So I thought it was interesting Fox would choose to play that song after that 1st half. And yeah, I was so glad Denver won that game last night. I respect what the Patriots have done this decade, but as a Jets fan, it's about time Belicheck and the Pats got put down for a season. Still, I admit they did remind me of the 2000 Yankees, a team that didn't quite look as dominant as the '98 and '99 teams, winning a scant 87 games to win the division. Yet, they got it done in October, and won their third straight championship. Thankfully, that analogy is now erroneous. (By the way, though this point really belongs in the "Horrible commericals" topic, you know how any objective person could tell the Patriots were really being overrated this year? That Pepsi commerical where the Patriots draft a vending machine and it goes on to become a star receiver. Give me a break.) And what a weird f***ing game that was between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. You had a near-comeback, a reversal of what was clearly a correct call, that fumble at the 2-yard line that should've been a collective stomach punch to the Steelers team, Ben Rothlisberger, of all people, making the game-saving tackle, and Vanderjagt looking like Kris Brown of the Texans in missing his first field goal at home this season and costing the Colts a chance in overtime. Hmm, I'm wondering if it'll be a Steelers-Panthers Super Bowl. The way these two teams are playing right now, they could easily walk into Denver and Seattle respectively and pull out victories.

Though I am not excusing the Patriots pathetic playing on Saturday night, the Broncos did not play well at all. Let's face it - 10 of their points came on BAD calls from the refs. The rest of them were on short drives or defense-induced. I hope that the Steelers can go in there and destroy them next week to prove this point.
