I didn't even notice "When I Come Around." WMUWSE was the one I was thinking of. Radio has burned me out on WICA, but WMUWSE is still plenty fresh to me.

What the...? Can I have the spoiler text code, pretty please? Certainly.Unless what you meant was "...So I could add it to Pulse", in which case I'll just PM you with all the header & footer info. That would be it, yes.

Radio has burned me out on WICA, but WMUWSE is still plenty fresh to me. Nothing like a hot show to cure all my burnout ailments. According to setlist.fm though, neither song in question has been played at all this tour. The second one appears to be a Green Day rarity to begin with. I'm not going to Pittsburgh. Ah well, it appears as though with their setlists, you've seen them all if you've seen them once.

And then for A.F.I. on the way back home (in Columbus) on October 4th. f***in' A. !@ AFI? ?? *quick excited breaths; leaves to search internet for tour dates...* EDIT: I got distracted by new fan club stuff, but I only found a handful so far. 2ND EDIT: My inside source says that AFI won't be coming through town during the rest of '09.

^Bummer on the AFI (I hadn't seen the second edit). I figured while arranging about 70 west coast tour stops that they'd at least swing by the Central for a few dates to pass the time, but I guess not. I was bummed out to get my concert update to find out that Brand New's coming back around here while I'll be out of town in October, on the Friday that I'll be driving down to NC. They're also in Detroit the night before, but concerts on Thursdays during that time of year aren't feasible. (provided to setlist.fm by yours truly. .) 1. Pariah 2. Ode to the Sun 3. Same Ol' Road 4. Saviour 5. R. U. O. K. 6. I Don't Know 7. Triangle 8. Bug Eyes 9. Catch Without Arms 10. Lightswitch 11. Ireland 12. Zebraskin 13. The Tanbark Is Hot Lava 14. Down to the Cellar 15. Cartoon Showroom Opening was As Tall As Lions, who were good. Closing was Rx Bandits, impressive musicians who were tough to focus attention on as the night passed, with their tremendously long song lengths and Pangaea-like song structure.

(provided to setlist.fm by yours truly. .) Hey! Look at you! Closing was Rx Bandits... I didn't realize that this was literally a co-headlining tour. I hope Dredg closes my show on Friday. Oh yeah, I went ahead and spoiled the set list for myself, since I can only remember a handful of Dredg's actual song titles. I'd like to know beforehand what they'll be focusing on.

Looking at their page though I know all but one of the songs they played. I was disappointed but mostly in the set list. No "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Waiting" is wishful thinking to begin with. I guess I can't complain too much though: I didn't buy tickets 'till the last minute and got great seats anyway. I still don't have 21st Century Breakdown but some of those songs were really great. I'm really excited to see Depeche Mode in roughly 3 weeks, though.

I'm really excited to see Depeche Mode in roughly 3 weeks, though. I was supposed to see them on Wednesday but they cancelled and they're not rescheduling! Was really looking forward to them & Peter Bjorn & John too. I'm especially pissed because I got $7.11 tickets on 7/11 via 7-11's promo and when else am I going to get to see Depeche Mode for that price. (+12.25 service charges, but still, $19.36 ain't bad.)

Encore: 15. Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts 16. Drive 17. 1930 18. Boomboxes and Dictionaries
Soooo....essentially the identical setlist to Cincinnati, except switch out the 17th song and add an 18th.
The Cincinnati guy separated "Stand by Me," but I assume he only got the snippet I did. He probably got the snippet of the Lyle Lovett cover in the middle of "Angry Johnny and the Radio" too, but didn't bother to look up what it was when he got home like I did.

I just got back from Channel 92.3 (As of yesterday; previously Channel 104.9)'s Big Show! The lineup: The Limousines The Airborne Toxic Event Street Sweeper Social Club The Gaslight Anthem Jack's Mannequin All American Rejects Flogging Molly* Tickets were $30...but I scored one for $10 on craigslist. Most of the bands were on for 30-45 min and played all ~2 of their singles. The Limousines weren't bad from what I saw of their last 1 1/2 songs. I'm kinda bummed I missed the rest of their set though. I was surprised at how much the Airborne Toxic Event had their act together, especially since they seemed like they somehow pulled off a kick-@$$ sounding song out of the blue "Sometime Around Midnight" and then the only reason "Wishing Well" charted was because it sounded like SAM. But they need better material because they couldn't make anything else by them except those two sound good. Still, they've got it together so they may be ones to keep an eye out for later. Street Sweeper Social Club remade "Paper Planes" and it was 10000x better than the original (or as many times is necessary to bring up a F- to a C. The Gaslight Anthem had a lot of energy, but sadly gave off the air of trying too hard. Or maybe it was just that the singer had an extremely annoying voice when speaking which was more like speakyelling. Whatever, they're still a young band, I'm not dismissing them by any means. Jack's Mannequin. Never have I seen someone rock out so hard on the piano, not even Ben Folds. Too bad I started losing interest by the time they were on. The All-American Rejects were fun, but they didn't need to yell out "motherf***er" or one of its conjugates an average of 2.4 times between each song. Or drop f & s bombs all over all of their songs. (I know they added them because I do remember their CDs save the most recent one being fairly sanitized.) Or maybe they did need to in order to be silly & crass which they were obviously shooting for. *Flogging Molly did not deserve to be in the final slot with an hr-long setlist. But it worked out anyway because I saw them about 5 years ago and they were the band I was least interested in and by this point I needed real food, which this venue did not offer, so I left. There was a concession stand that served the maximum of hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels and chips with nacho cheez, beer, margaritas, and freezies. No hamburgers even!!! Now don't get me wrong, this type of stuff has/had its place and time. But my body needs good quality real food (esp. protein) every few hours or it goes berzerk. And considering the venue allowed a) no outside food or drink and b) no in & out privileges, the fact that the closest thing to real food was hot dogs and nacho cheez was a serious problem. I brought what I could stuff in my pockets, but that isn't enough for a 6-hour show. Good thing I had little to no interest in Flogging Molly or else I would have a) been bitter @ having to leave or b) stayed anyway and probably fainted. /rant. Overall a good show.

Went to see the Killers on Labour Day weekend. They were real solid and their setlist actually spanned across their three main albums, which was good because the friend I was with was only familiar with their first two albums. We missed the openers, which was Wolfmother. Oh well. Setlist: Human Spaceman Neon Tiger For Reasons Unknown Bones The World We Live In Bling (Confession of a King) Shadowplay Somebody Told Me Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (The Animals cover) [green]They were joined by Wolfmother for this one.[/green] Smile Like You Mean It Change Your Mind A Dustland Fairytale Read My Mind Mr. Brightside All These Things That I've Done Encore: This Is Your Life Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine When You Were Young Paramore is coming in October, I might go see that. Kanye West and Lady Gaga are coming in January. For sure I'm going! Hopefully the "backlash" with Kanye means there'll be less teeny-boppers.

Stay Together for the Kids (Tom absolutely wiped his ass with the choruses, atonally warbling his way through them.)08. Down 09. Always 10. Stockholm Syndrome (including the WWII letter-reading at the beginning. I can't believe they played this! )11. First Date 12. Man Overboard 13. Don't Leave Me 14. Not Now 15. All the Small Things 16. Reckless Abandon 17. Josie 18. Anthem Part 2 Encore: 19. Travis Barker drum solo ;D 20. Carousel 21. Dammit I'd never heard any of the self-titled songs performed live before, so those were all a treat. I just wish Tom gave a s*** about singing his lyrics. He sabotaged far too many of them, either apathetically atonally, or substituting careless gibberish and/or profanities. An occasional dirty substitution lyric or ad-lib is fine and even appreciated in most cases, but too much of that crammed into every song is just irritating and pathetic, and takes away value from the song. It's like, your last three albums were why we care so much about you guys to begin with. The least Tom could do is act like he even cares about the damn song vocals & lyrics himself. You're not really proving to us right now (or to me, really) why your absence was so deeply felt these past few years. Why you were a significant band.

Well it turns out the Kanye/Gaga tour got entirely cancelled. That sucks, I was totally looking forward to it. Paramore's show is sold out even though it's in 2 weeks, must be those damn Twilight kids. However, I'm seeing Mat Kearney on Monday for just $17, can't wait.

Well it turns out the Kanye/Gaga tour got entirely cancelled. That sucks, I was totally looking forward to it. Me too. Paramore's show is sold out even though it's in 2 weeks. If it's one that got rescheduled, you may be in luck after all, since there may be some people unable to attend the new date. Assuming there is one. Instead of this week, my show is pushed back a month now. Jay-Z and AFI have shows the same day in Austin but I'm fairly certain I'd rather see AFI. Besides it is much cheaper. That's kind of a no-brainer. However, Jay-Z's bringing N.E.R.D. and Wale, right? Ouch. I'm glad I'm not forced to forgo all that. (That tour isn't even coming anywhere near me, though.)

Buried Myself Alive (Actually the "All That I Buried Myself Alive Got" medley that they've been performing for at least the past two years.)11. Blue and Yellow 12. The Best of Me 13. Pretty Handsome Awkward Encore: 14. On My Own (acoustic) 15. A Box Full of Sharp Objects EDIT: Their setlists are all pretty much the same. I'd forgotten that "The Taste of Ink" was actually truncated to segue into "All That I've Got," so I guess that makes it a three song medley. Some shows got "Paralyzed," which I would've loved to hear. It makes perfect sense, since they've got two sideways classic Nintendo controller cloths covering a couple of their cabinets on stage (stage left), and they admittedly ripped off the main riff of the song from the bassline to the bike-riding/jogging sequence in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.

At The Last 10. Helter Skelter (The Beatles cover) 11. Beggars Nothing pre-Vheissu. . In effect though their set seemed incomplete. Brand New's not yet on setlist.fm but I'll say that I went to half of their show before I decided I'd leave and get back to town. Most set lists aren't overly deviated, looking there. I at least recognized the first 4 or 5 songs in the same sequence as Nick's post, but I think "Sowing Season" was played a bit earlier. Actually, I could have seen the same as what's posted on the first half of 10/22's show, because I remember "SS" being the last full song I heard before going.

01. Brand New Eyes Tour Intro 02. Ignorance 03. I Caught Myself 04. That's What You Get 05. Looking Up 06. Emergency 07. crushcrushcrush 08. Turn It Off 09. Here We Go Again 10. Careful 11. Conspiracy 12. Where the Lines Overlap 13. Decode
Encore: 14. Misguided Ghosts 15. Misery Business 16. Brick by Boring Brick
Surprised that of the 3 old songs, one of them wasn't "Pressure," though I got that last summer when they opened for No Doubt. Also, since they did such a kickass (extended!) version of "Let the Flames Begin" last summer, I kinda wanted to hear that again. ("For a Pessimist..." too.) But no dice on either.
Looking at other setlists, just now, this is pretty typical.

Dancing Through Sunday 11. Cold Hands 12. The Leaving Song 13. On the Arrow 14. Death of Seasons 15. Medicate 16. Love Like Winter
Encore: 17. 6 to 8 18. Miss Murder 19. Silver and Cold I had to have a little bit of help from Setlist.fm on the placement of the songs. (That was fast! ) I didn't know "NyQuil" by name and had a hell of a time finding it among my AFI CDs. (The first two, obviously.) I didn't even find it. I went to Setlist.fm, hoping a previous show would point me in the right direction, but my show was already up, so I just took a look. I listened to the full track and only then, did I recognize it from the show. Forgive me if I didn't bother going all the way back to the first two albums when pumping myself up for the show the past two days. It's been 6 years since I even heard them play something that old. Sorry! Didn't recognize "On the Arrow," either, but I looked up the lyric I remembered when I got home. Who the f*** plays a b-side at a show? Yes, I own it, but it hasn't been for very long. Anyway, I was front and center directly behind the pit. Best, unobstructed view I've ever had for a show (AFI or otherwise.) Stoked to hear half the new album. Would've liked to have heard "Sacrilege," "Veronica Sawyer Smokes," "I Am Trying Very Hard to Be Here," and "It Was Mine," but you can't hear 'em all. Would've loved to have heard "Summer Shudder" again. I can't believe I got half of Sing the Sorrow. Thrilled about "Death of Seasons" which I don't remember them playing in years. Would've loved to have had "Bleed Black" instead of "Dancing Through Sunday" again, but oh well. I'm happy to get anything off The Art of Drowning at this point, especially since they completely ignored it the last time I saw them. I just wish both songs weren't power-ballads. They completely ignored Black Sails in the Sunset, which was odd. Not even "Totalimmortal" from the All Hallows EP.
