They nailed this one. I was like the new DCFC single (to a lesser extent though) in that if they were gonna do more of the same tired 60bpm formula like their first two hits that I probably wasn't gonna care too much for this song, but I think, already, it blows "Level" and "Steady" straight out the water.

I like, and with the competition the way it is right now a top 3 showing should be a piece of cake.

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying their new stuff. The first album had likeable songs but nothing ever particularly special.
Funny thing on Pulse though: One user stated that Jack's at his best when "not throwing piano and other instruments into songs," although that's seriously been there since the beginning of the White Stripes. Piano exists on the cover of "St. James Infirmary Blues" at least and that's on the first album.

While I wouldn't agree yet with your hands down preference of this over the first album's singles, I agree completely with the other things you said. What finally sold me was watching their (still-frame animated) performance of this song in the video.
