OK, here we go...
#1-#10:
- This is probably Mute Math's final week at the top, and almost surely their final week on top with this album. I listened to it and it's by far my least favorite of theirs.
- "Blood Pressure" is soon to be replaced by F&TM's second #1 hit (and yes, I know everyone has moved on to "Shake It Out" already).
- I might as well rep Bad Lip Reading here, since they appear in literally every fifth of the chart: he's awesome. "Russian Unicorn" is the highest-peaking "comedic" track on my chart possibly ever, besting the #5 peak of The Lonely Island's "Jizz In My Pants". Check him out:
- "Bright Lights, Bigger City" has shown some very impressive longevity (and even outpeaked "Fuck You" by a spot to boot). But it might finally have run out of steam on its second wind.
- I don't think "Girls Like You" will give TNAF their third #1 hit... but let's just say it's been resonating a lot with me the past several weeks.
#11-#20:
- Sneaky boys, The Script are. "For The First Time" peaked in its 24th week, and "Nothing" has risen gradually as well. It won't last quite that long as "FTFT", though -- in fact, its window to get into the top 10 is shrinking rapidly.
- I don't quite know how "Till I'm Gone" made its way into the top 20 while "Written In The Stars" only hit #30. Another track whose days are numbered, but has still done fairly well.
- Although I never ended up liking AWOLNATION's "Sail", I eventually grew to respect it by the time I heard them in concert over Labor Day weekend. No gradual warmup was needed for "Not Your Fault".
- I actually don't hear "Someone Like You" that much. I don't have a radio in my car; Grooveshark is basically Adele-free (they seem vigilant on getting any MP3s of her off the Internet); so I usually only hear this song on Spotify (and I just canceled my subscription to that, at least temporarily). I think it's probably helped me not burn out on this song.
- A couple of UK acts currently only making noise on Hot AC and AAA round out this section.
#21-#30:
- This is where a real logjam starts. "These Days", "She Will", and "Take The World" are blazing (they're all likely headed for my top 10; if they were on the pop chart, they'd all have >+1000s), while "Rockin'", "Up Up Up" and "Heartbeat" are doing well too (+500 to +700). But right now there isn't much room to go up (up up). I finally came around on Givers in the nick of time.
- Meanwhile, has "Whirring" done enough for it to become the #1 song of the year? It'll have to contend with the 34 weeks (4 at #1) earned by "Triple Double", as well as the 7 weeks at #1 and strong recurrent longevity of "Black And Yellow".
#31-#40:
- "Undercover Martyn" is making a respectable effort here, but it's likely to end TDCC's streak of 5 straight top-10 songs.
- The Format never made my chart, despite my familiarity with the catchy "The First Single", but fun. (who is led by the same singer from The Format) could make some noise here.
- And yes, your eyes are not deceiving you: the Glee Cast have made my top 50 (and now top 40). As an awoved anti-Gleeker, trust me: "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You" is fine to listen to.
#41-#50:
- Not much to mention here, but I'm glad I was able to fit "Tonight" into the chart this week. That one has stuck around my playlists for a while and I haven't suffered burnout on it. It's usually the opposite for a Seether song.
