1. Jimmy Eat World - "My Best Theory"
"My Best Theory", "Undisclosed Desires", and "Nightmare" would have accounted for just about the entire summer and fall's allotment of #1's this year.
As often as I was able to hear "Neighborhood #3", "Black Mirror", and "Keep The Car Running" on the radio, it's so disappointing how infrequently I heard "Ready To Start", being their breakthrough hit and all.
I could make a long list of songs that fit the category "Obviously not tired of _____, yet". A lot of those became late bloomers. Especially: "Take A Load Off", "You Got Me", both AIC tracks, "The Sound", and "The High Road".
Then there's "Ride to California", basically on a second wind, partially influenced by how s***ty of a job I've done following up on singles that I enjoy. I still haven't even heard "Trinity" or "Get Higher"...I think there may have even been another one too. Same with Civil Twilight. Haven't heard any of "Letters"' followups.
Both of Linkin Park's latest singles were very quick to burn out. Still trying to decide how much I like "Dog Days". It's just not as good as "Kiss With A Fist" (even though that one got old quickly enough) and it's really only working out on the radio due to its clappability. I've yet to hear it anywhere on the radio besides Out of Order. "40 Day Dream", a one time Out of Order bonus track, isn't as infectious as "Home", but I liked it well enough to seek it out for myself. "Take Me (as you found me)" has been on the radar ever since preparing for the Anberlin show a few months back.
