Who are they and where did they come from. As far as I know, they've come straight out of obscurity to tenatively landing in the top 50 already.
Prior to hearing this, I'm mad that this has so easily leapt over AFI, adding an additional hurdle in their quest to reach the top 50 with an unreleased track.

And after this week, AFI will have to stick around for three more weeks because R&R's freezing the charts. I haven't heard either the Hard-Fi or AFI songs, but I have heard Hard-Fi's "Living For the Weekend", and it's decent.

They're a group from the U.K. Their music is heavily indebted to the reggae/ska side of The Clash. In fact, when I was driving to St. Louis last July to see The Bravery, I had KPNT's "New Music Sunday" program on, because they had just played "Gangsters and Thugs" by the Transplants. (The program plays new music, but not everything they play is an official single.) The next song, I believe, came on unidentified and I swore it was a Joe Strummer song from some upcoming posthumous album or something. The DJ identified it and mentioned they were an opening band at The Bravery concert I was on my way to see. They were decent, but a little of them went a long way. I didn't realize "Rabbits Are Roadkill" was getting significant national airplay.

I'm digging this one so far. I actually find it more reminiscent of mid-90's Blur (at least what I'm familiar with by them).
