Having grown on me with each listen, I heard it on AT40 this morning and noticed the sound clip "J.R." at the beginning, indicating that J.R. Rotem produced this. Though information on Jason DeRulo had been scarce on Wikipedia when this first hit the Mediabase chart weeks ago, he has a page now, and it's been developing more and more over time.
Wanting to confirm J.R. Rotem's involvement, I went to Wikipedia and noticed that he sampled an Imogen Heap single called "Hide and Seek" for the hook. Astonished, I went to YouTube and watched Imogen's video to hear it. I couldn't believe it. The fact that he heard a hook for a completely new song out of the part of "Hide and Seek" in which it appears was extremely impressive.
That is, until I clicked on a Wikipedia link for "Hide and Seek" and discovered that the hook he built the song on was extremely notorious from a widely spoofed 2007 SNL Digital Short called "The Shooting" (or "Dear Sister") that aired two days before the Virginia Tech shootings. And as to not give credit to SNL, the sketch was based on the second season finale of The O.C.
Amazing how something like that completely flies under my radar for 2½ years.
