And seeing "Time to Pretend" as your #1 and remembering Steve said somewhere awhile back that it would be his 2nd or 3rd favorite song of '08 at that point...well, it makes me feel better.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Death Anxiety" the few times I got to hear it. I never really heard much Bleeding Through to be honest.

I love the wide range of music represented on this chart. "Lights Out" likely would have been in the top five for me if I based the thing 100% on preference.

I don't keep up with as much of the heavier rock as I do other stuff, so when I do hear examples I like a lot, they tend to stick with me better. Plus, this one got tied to a decent memory, which helped it. Like Kirk, I'm only passingly familiar with the Bleeding Through catalogue.

Haha, yeah, they reunited this year for a tour, released another greatest hits package, and tacked this on as one of two new songs.

... and seeing Bleeding Through and Boyzone isolated together kind of made me laugh. Talk about your bands with different styles...

Thanks. I don't do weekly personal charts, but I do try to make my year-end ones reflective of my actual year in current music, which is why I'll put certain songs pretty low if I like them a lot but only gave them limited attention (like "Gamma Ray.") But, yeah, for the most part, it's preference.

Absolutely. I appreciate it. I figure this way people have their choice of both the novel and the Cliff's Notes. I just think it's cool I get to share things like this with like-minded audiences in any format.
