According to DM-related sources, this will be the first single from the album. Slated for a February release to radio. Patrick Daughters, the director of Feist's "1,2,3,4" music video, apparently directed the video. Hopefully they don't rush the release with anything else *cough*the Cure*cough*. If it's good enough then it'll have a chance at the Top 30, at least.

Remember the early Simpsons episode where Lisa's essay about America wins the family a trip to Washington?
Anyway, I think it was at the local competition after all the kids had read their essays and the Simpsons are walking through a hallway right by a losing contestant and his father. The kid's dad says, "'We the purple'? What the hell was that?"

And what better episode of Family Guy to air on MLK Jr. Day than the one where Peter discovers he has a black ancestor? (This one was actually today's local syndicated episode.)

^Always enjoyed watching that one.
As for the performance I heard of the song, solid enough. I think it may have potential on Alternative, but this one won't see Hot AC like "Dream On" and "Precious." Those were a lot more light-hearted sounding songs. This is a much more edgy track.

So badass how this song is opening up way more than "Precious" could have. Although I kind of rolled my eyes at AC/DC's multiple songs on alternative and the like, I think it's actually the kind of thing that worked in DM's benefit. But I think that even in 2009 people realize how stupid it is to say that DM has no place on alternative radio today. The alternative/modern stats are somewhat incomplete since it avoids so much of the '80's stuff. Billboard's chart at least covered Violator and SOFAD. This would be entry #7 if you include R&R/Mediabase (unless I'm somehow missing "Home" from the stats), although 17 with BB.

"Useless" would've been the one, because I didn't ever really know about songs that didn't get in the top 30 around that time. But I have the full run for "OWILM" so that one was good.
