Nick's Notes:
1-10:
All things Paramore get a boost this week from playing the record shuffled in my car. I really wish something could take out "Afterlife" and threaten #1, but 3 & 4 still aren't there yet (and 3 may never be). And nothing else comes close right now. Honestly, I haven't listened to the remix of "Paper Planes" since the original became a hit. I just assume it's still better, though, and that whatever M.I.A. verse(s) omitted (if any) is inferior to whatever Bun B and/or Rich Boy contribute. It's almost weird that "Pocketful of Sunshine" is a Top 10 hit for me. Especially now. And unfortunate if last Sunday ends up being its final week in AT40. Because then what? I'm minus the good Hot AC station now, so chances of hearing it more will be diminished exponentially.
11-20:
I think "Hearts Burst Into Fire" got a radio spin this past week. So it only falls 1 spot. On the other hand, I didn't hear "Summer Love" on the radio this past week and it rises a spot, so you never know with these things.
21-30:
Similarly, I didn't hear "You Are the One" whatsoever and it goes back into the Top 20, whereas I watched the video for "Ricochet" and it actually (and surprisingly) falls a spot this week. Significant radio play with snowballing interest causes "Whatever You Like" to blast aboard my chart at #22. Did an album ranker for Bleeding Through's new record, so those songs rise, generally.
31-40:
"The Day That Never Comes" falls more than I was expecting. "Let It Happen" is already falling again because I didn't hear it on the radio this week. Listening to my recently acquired copy of Tha Carter III a bit, so those songs make my Top 40 after weeks (months?) of being absent from my contender list. That Mudvayne single probably would've taken off by now if it was ever going to.
Contenders:
"Womanizer" will likely hit the Top 40 as soon as I hear it more often. "Human" will probably hit the Top 40, but likely won't get far. "Live Your Life" I didn't hear this past week, but it may scrape the chart at some point. I think "Never Wanted to Dance" is done. "Dead Memories" appears due to new light radio play and starting to familiarize myself with the album simultaneously. Thanks for reading.
