#1, at least until tomorrow afternoon.
It looked for awhile that it wasn't gonna get quite that high, but it just kept moving closer and closer, and just was in the right place at the right time, when Gorillaz was falling out and Nine Inch Nails wasn't quite there yet.
This is another one of those songs with that "311 signature sound", and that's a good thing because during the 11 years they've been in the mainstream, there hasn't really been any other band to step up and do it better.
It's nice that they've been able to hit #1, especially with it being their own song. Not since the Blue Album, however, they've been able to score two top ten hits off one album. We shall see if they can ride the momentum and finally do it with Don't Tread On Me.

While I was pleased to see this go all the way, I would've rather seen it happen to songs like "Amber" and "You Wouldn't Believe". "Don't Tread On Me" is just a little too generic for them and I never really got into it as much as a lot of their other singles, including all of the releases from From Chaos and Evolver.

For as much nuts as these guys take from critics, I'm happy to see them (have a fleeting week) at the top of the chart again. Surprised the hell out of me. People had said that NIN had #1, but I guess they were already a week ahead of me. I didn't get to look at last week's chart until today and was pleasantly surprised to see 311 up at the top before NIN takes over.
Wait, what the hell is this?? I accidentally type the "sh" expletive without the asterisks and proboards automatically changes it to "nuts"?? That's both mildly amusing and mildly bothersome.

I just found out today that Proboards has all the expletives and their replacements covered by default. Others include "bitch -> pregnant dog" and "asshole -> not a very nice person". I'll get those fixed, eventually.

I thought this was a bit generic for them too the first few weeks I heard this. Then for some reason, the phrase "I love my canoe" and its context jumped out at me. Now I like the song a lot more than better. Unfortunately it doesn't matter much now as I hardly ever hear it, which seems amazing for a #1 song.

I like this song-I know its generic, but something about it is just really catchy and makes me happy haha. Im glad it hit #1...mainly for the band, not the quality of the song though.

Yeah, and in addition to their signature sound it also has what seems to be their signature style: cool slightly different-sounding intro and the verses and chorus stacked up just like they always are. But I've finally gotten over "Down" (though I still despise it) and am really starting to get into this band from Omah-I mean, Orange County, so it's nice that they have a single that both the alternative stations here are playing.
